Really just pulling this from my ass but I think that the cult traditions on the Ninth House originated from Anastasia's mourning rituals after Samael's death. I think she started wearing all black and painting her face (perhaps even before she started guarding the tomb?) and eating bland food (I know the Ninth is just too poor to afford good food but work with me here) to express her grief but that ended up turning into rituals associated with protecting the tomb that were passed down. Thoughts?
