I'd like one of the boys to ask Garcia when she and uncle Luke are getting married. Then Garcia looks at JJ like "WTF?!" JJ explains that everyone knows Luke loves Garcia. Emily has already put the paperwork in for them becoming a couple and working together. It's been years.
Slight spoilers for 13x3, very slight. That moment of her being flustered and JJ’s question of “what did you do to her” got my muse all fluttering. So a little Garvez moment with a little overprotective JJ thrown in for fun. I really hope you like it guys. Language is a little suggestive, but nothing really bad.
What Did You Do To Her
“What did you do to her?” JJ asks him in the SUV after Garcia sputters out a sort of apology for her innuendo.
He can’t really answer JJ because he’ll give something away. So he just chuckles and shrugs his shoulders like he has no idea.
He knows why Garcia’s a little flustered and it’s the same reason he is. It’s why the nickname ‘cool hand Luke’ makes him smile so genuinely. It’s because he is good with his hands, and no he’s not bragging, he’s just a hands-on kinda guy. And Penny, which he affectionately calls her away from the team, loves by touch.

Funerals were hard and grieving was harder alone. A week after burying their friend and colleague, he’d shown up to her door needing to be near someone. She’d let him into her colorful apartment, which was an extension of her own joyful personality. They’d talked for hours: first about nonsense, avoiding anything real, then they talked about their childhoods, their families, and finally what was really on their minds: the loss.
The sun broke over the horizon and he’d realized that they’d talked all night. He fussed some mostly true excuse about needing to walk Roxy, but she offered to get breakfast with him and he couldn’t refuse.
They shared breakfast on the patio of a mom-and-pop diner while Roxy ate the scrapes he dropped to her. He was going to go home; he really was, but she tugged at his hand silently requesting that he follow her and he did.
She made Roxy a bed of pillows on the floor motioned him towards her bed.
“I don’t want this to be a mistake.” Because he didn’t want to be a mistake. It could be momentary if this what she needed, but he couldn’t be a mistake. He refused to be regret.
“When is a nap ever a mistake, Newbie?” She gave him a wink. “Just lay down and get comfy. I’ll be right back.”
He kicked off his shoes and lost his jacket, removing the decorative pillows before reclining back on the bed. He meant to close his eyes for a just a moment, but woke up hours later, sunlight streaming into the apartment and pressed up against her. She was nestled up to him, head on his chest, leg throw over his as she shifted closer to him murmuring quietly, “Five more minutes.”
“Penny. Hey, Penny, I’m gonna let myself out.” He whispered into her hair. He didn’t want to leave, but he was going to do something stupid if he stayed.
“You don’t want to stay?” She looked up at him, her eyes soft as she blinked sleep away.
He swallowed and brushed a wayward lock of hair away from her face, “I’m not sure what you want from me here.”
“Just you. Isn’t it obvious?” She leaned up and brushed her lips over his.
He pinned her under him in a quick motion, deepening their kiss and running his hands up under her shirt. She laughed against his mouth and he broke off their kiss, bumping his nose against hers, “Something funny, Chica?”
“You are.” She squirmed under him. “I was planning on taking advance of you earlier, but you fell asleep on me. That usually doesn’t happen until after I show off my skills.”
“You’ve got skills do you?” He teased, before kissing the side of her neck. “Gonna knock me out with these skills of yours?” He muttered into her skin. She smelled so amazing and her skin was so incredibly soft.
“Oh, you have no idea. Rub me the way, Luke, and you may never recover.”

“We need to go left at the next light.” JJ interrupts his memory and he focuses back on the road. “Penny for your thoughts, you looked a mile away there for a minute.”
“I’m good, JJ, just wanna get this done and get home to my girls.”
“You mean your girl? Or did you get Roxy a sister?”
“That’s what I said, home to my girl.” He hopes she buys the lie but knows that he’s not that lucky. Garcia’s gonna kill him.
“Mhmm.” JJ checks her phone nonchalantly as they turn the corner, but offers a quiet warning. “If you hurt her…”
“I know, no will ever find my body.” He sighs heavily, cutting off the protective sister speech.
“Oh they’ll find your body, but I’ll still get away with it.”
“Understood.”

They’re still in the briefing room when she says it.
No raised voice. No theatrics.
“If I don’t see him breathing,” Penelope says, “this is where I break.”
She meets Emily’s eyes and doesn’t look away.
“I need to see him alive.”
The room goes quiet.
Prentiss studies her for a long beat. Too many risks. Too many variables.
Then she nods once.

She rides in the back, knees bouncing. Her fingers worry at her rings until she has to flatten her palms against her thighs to make them stop.
It doesn’t help.
She’s already done her part. Traced the signal. Locked the location down to the meter. She keeps reminding herself of that, like it should matter.
There’s nothing left to do but wait.
Which feels wrong. Almost cruel.
When the team stacks at the door, she stays where she’s told. The vest feels too heavy. Too tight.
Concrete.
Damp.
Low light.
Alive. Please. Please.
She doesn’t even know who she’s praying to.
The door goes down hard. Shouting. Boots. Light spilling into dark.
She can’t move at first. Like if she does, whatever’s holding her together won’t survive it.
Then she sees him.
Luke is bound upright against a concrete pillar. Wrists overhead. Head bowed. One eye swollen shut. Blood dried dark along his cheek, his collarbone. His shirt torn open.
Her breath stops.
She doesn’t look anywhere else. She can’t.
She watches his chest.
Once.
Twice.
It rises.
Shallow. Uneven.
But it rises.
Breathing.
“Oh—Luke.” Her voice barely makes it out.
His head lifts slowly. His eyes don’t find her at first. They slide past, unfocused.
Then—
Pink. Blonde. Her.
No. Not real.
“Pen,” he croaks, panic breaking through. “No—why are you—”
“I’m here.” She’s already moving. She stops just in front of him, hands hovering, not sure where to put them. “You’re safe. You’re breathing. You’re alive.”
That’s all that matters.
Rossi is beside her, bolt cutters in hand.
“I’ve got him,” he says. “Be ready.”
She nods, stepping in close. One arm across Luke’s chest. One at his back.
The first restraint is cut.
Luke sags with a sound that tears out of him. His weight comes down all at once. Penelope barely catches it, Rossi steadying him from the other side.
“I’ve got you,” she says, breathless. “I’ve got you.”
The second restraint falls away. They ease him down until he’s sitting, back against the pillar, his weight tipped into her. His head drops against her shoulder.
Alive.
Still alive.
She has to keep saying it.
Rossi squeezes her shoulder. “I’ll get the medics.”
When he steps away, the room feels too big.
She doesn’t notice she’s crying until her breathing goes wrong. Until her vision blurs. She leans into Luke, forehead against his shoulder, fingers gripping his torn shirt.
Her other hand stays on his chest.
Feeling the rise.
The fall.
“I thought—” Her voice breaks. “I thought I was too late.”
Luke feels the tears before he understands them. Feels her shaking now that it’s safe to.
“No,” he murmurs. “Hey—don’t—”
Seeing her cry hurts worse than anything else.
He lifts his hand slowly, like it weighs too much. His thumb brushes her cheek, awkward but careful.
“Don’t cry,” he whispers. “I’m here. Still breathing.”
It’s a bad joke. He knows it.
She lets out a broken laugh anyway.
“I know,” she says.
His thumb lingers. Then his hand slips.
Penelope catches it without thinking.
Her fingers close around his, holding fast. Keeping him here.
She doesn’t let go.
Her other hand lifts slowly, mirroring what he did for her. She cups his face gently, careful of bruises, careful of pain, thumbs resting warm and sure against his skin.
She waits until his eyes focus again.
Waits until she knows he’s really looking at her.
Only then does she draw a breath.
“Luke,” she says quietly. “There’s something I need to say before they take you.”
He squints. “Penelope… maybe later.”
“No.” Her voice shakes. “If I don’t say it now, I never will. And I was wrong. On our date.”
That gets his attention.
“I said your person was out there. That mine was too.” She swallows. “I was so wrong. It’s you. It’s always been you.”
He frowns, trying to catch up.
“Pen,” he murmurs. “I—what did you—”
“I love you.” No hesitation. “I love you.”
He just stares.
Somewhere in the fog, a thought drifts up: I’m either very concussed… or dying.
People don’t say things like that otherwise.
“Say that again,” he murmurs, careful, like the moment might shatter.
“I love—”
His hand comes up fast and clumsy, fingers fisting in her vest. He doesn’t have much strength.
But he has enough.
Enough to pull her in.
He kisses her like he can’t afford to wait. Messy. Breathless. Real. His grip tightens like this is the only thing keeping him here.
For one moment, nothing else exists.
Then hands are on her shoulders.
“Penelope—”
They pull her back as the medics move in. She walks with the gurney until she’s made to stop.
Luke reaches for her again, fingers brushing hers.

Not everything needs to be link with Diana 🤷🏻♀️. It’s funny how the press is always trying to say that Kate and even creepy MM try to emulate Di (and maybe they try), but in reality her boys are they ones trying to be like her, and trying to do everything she did with them but with their own children. I'm honestly convinced that William a) has a lot of grief that he hasn't resolved, which is why he's constantly referencing things to his mom, and b) THE KP TITANIC's comms team is just dumb and lazy.
They should have started divesting both Will & Kate from references to Diana at least ten years ago, ever since they started having kids, but particularly after the twentieth anniversary of her passing. The press is constantly doing call backs to Diana, regardless of whether or not THE KP TITANIC pointed it out to the press or not. There has never been a need by THE KP TITANIC's comms team to increase the frequency of those references, but I guess they like indulging the Diana nutters.
But releasing Mother's Day cards made by George, Charlotte, and Louis, five years ago, was always a red flag for me.
Passing on your personal grief to you kids is a big no-no for me.
So, yeah, given that William has unresolved emotional problems, it's not altogether surprising that he is constantly tying things to His Mummy at every possible opportunity. Hopefully, Will & Kate's kids will be able to chart their own paths and interests as they grow into adults, but you have to wonder how much William is going to force The Grandma They Never Knew constantly on them because he hasn't dealt with his grief.
And the problem I have with this is: why didn't William do this earlier? He announced The Earthshot Prize mission while Philip was still living because William was focused more on things outside the UK than inside, but now William suddenly cares about something Philip worked on?

In his typically informal style William discusses what must be an ambitious target. In its first 100 years the charity has managed to secure protection for just 3,000 green spaces but William, the royal who has vowed to do more to bring about positive change in our society, says: “I think we can double, treble that number.”
Double & treble that number? Is that just like solving homelessness in five years? I guess if he can fit in the time between his phone calls for seaweed by NotPla perhaps, but the dude only works seven months of the year. Nothing happening right now while the kids are out of school.

He's the patron of those charities. Does he have an interest in them because of his mom, of course, she took him with her when he was young. It made an impression on him. He probably chose those charities to honor his mom plus maybe no one else was taking them over. Would you say the same thing if KC took on the same charities his mother did? Is Zara wrong for liking horses because her mother does? He's easing his son into royal life. Showing him some of what they do and showing him that not everyone has his advantages. Just like his mother did. What is wrong with that? Do you not do some of the things your parents did? George may choose different charities when he's older.
Someone please tell me they are also reading the Perfect Information series on Ao3 bc it is so damn good and one of my current obsessions and i need to scream about it.
