So idk if you guys know of a game called Undertale. Its by Toby Radiation Fox, the guy who does homestuck music.
Well i started playing the demo, and that part with the flower, I thought it was gonna be all cute and nice.

I wanna start a new health movement where the focus of your diet is eating the correct distribution of colors, and i know theres a little truth to that, but mines not gonna be about vitamins, its about keeping the correct color balance in your nervous system or something. So like spinach and mountain dew have the same nutritional value cuz theyre both green. Rare colors are especially prized, so something like edible gold leaf or baja blast are considered suuuper nutritious
Both joe rogan and emma chamberlain eill have me on their podcasts within the next 6 months. In a year ill have my own smoothie at erewhon
its wild the degree to which people talk about reading and eating in similar terms - the concept of a "reading diet", of "media consumption", the idea of certain stories as "empty calories" or "fast food" and some as "eating your vegetables", the moralization of both as personal failings, the framing of health with the specter of degeneration if not complied with... the idea that there are things that are sensorily pleasant and that you find yourself craving, and there are things that sustain you, and those are not the same things. the framing of literacy as reading the correct way and taking away the correct meaning from a text. according to nutritional guidelines
@fractalradio you are so right for bringing up 'slop'
the thing about "maybe the curtains were just blue" is that the author controls every word put into the story, and if they put a little detail like that in and didn't intend it to add to character or atmosphere or symbolism or anything whatsoever, it probably should have been cut. you dont need that
im so bad at names. like not just remembering peoples names, i mean naming things myself too. i feel like half the reason i never get far in my original stuff is that i have to name somebody or somewhere and i Die. all the names i come up with just feel off and wrong. nobody ever wants to call oolong or yuzu by their names. all the stuff ive been writing has blah names that are just kinda extremely directly what they're about. my real name feels weird and off and distant, like i always feel like it's a blonde woman's chihuahua's name, but toast isnt really that much better. i want to live in nameless world where nobody has names
