Every blog has a different name for Czech and I have Anežka Dvořáková. Because Anežka is the ‘Czechest’ name I could think of and Dvořák was a Czech composer and quite common name (it also has ř, but shh). Aalso, Czech names (and Slovak ones too, idk about other Slavics) has -ová at the end of a woman’s surname (and -á when the man’s name ends with -ý).

It’s basically the most Carpatho-Rusyn name I could come up with. “Paraskjeva” is the C-R form of Paraskeva, coming from Saint Paraskeva of the Balkans, patroness saint of embroiderers, needle workers, spinners, and weavers. CR likes to do embroidery, and Saint Paraskeva’s feast is 14 October, 11 days before CR’s “birthday”. It’s tradition to name a newborn after a Saint whose feast is on or near the child’s birthday. “Nadježda” is her baptismal name, meaning “hope”. “Matuščak” is a solely (from what I’ve gathered) Carpatho-Rusyn surname, meaning “child of Matthew”. Matthew the Apostle is the patron saint of civil servants, and his feast is 15 or so days after CR’s “birthday”.
