1992 WWF Walkthrough
First you need to choose what areas of the the world will be active. Because I like the idea of having my workers being in the running for the mid and end of year awards, I turn off Mexico and and Japan. Japan tends to win because of their scheduling. If Japan is out, Mexico tends to be the frontrunner. I don’t know much about the Japan and Mexico scene in 1992, which is the year I am running. To be clear, I don’t know much about the Mexico scene even today and only know New Japan as far as Japan goes.
Next is choosing your “avatar”. Rather than choosing one of the “user characters”, I like using someone who can participate in storylines. I plan on running WWF so I choose the characters from that. Usually when the roster I am running with Hulk Hogan, I choose him because he is a pain in the ass who won’t lose. If you recall Hulk Hogan at this time in WWF, he was teasing retirement. I think I can make this interesting. So I will pick Hogan. Mostly because he is a pain in the ass though.
After you select who you will use, you must choose the talents they are gifted with. I just choose jack of all trades because I am not doing this competitively. As far as the user characters go, I keep all of the real people. In this scenario, that includes Donald Trump, Dave Meltzer, Larry Matysik and Arnold Schwarzenegger
Next you choose your company and role in the company. I am doing WWF and a booker. I like being given goals by the owner to subsequently forget about until I get an e-mail complaining about my failures.
I don’t like running multiple shows in a week, so I got rid of All American and Wrestling Challenge. I left Superstars and decided to make it a 3 hour show. I’ll treat it like a marathon taping.
Starting off, I check out my active champions. I have Legion of Doom as Tag Champions. Bret Hart as Intercontinental Champion and a vacancy at WWF Championship. Next I check out my feuds. I have a Bushwhackers/Beverly Brothers feud, The WWF Title feud which has Flair, Hogan, Perfect, Savage, Roberts, Undertaker and Sid. Dibiase and IRS vs. Earthquake and Typhoon vs. Legion of Doom and Bret Hart vs. Piper vs. Mountie. All of the titles have feuds.
Now I will go through the roster and see who else I may want to put into feuds or storylines. I have Tito Santana, Jim Duggan, Big Bossman, Haku, Hercules, Greg Valentine, Jim Neidhart, Koko B. Ware, Marty Jannetty, Shawn Michaels, Rick Martel, Papa Shango, Sgt. Slaughter, Skinner, Tatanka, The Barbarian, The Nasty Boys, The Berzerker, Repo Man, Texas Tornado, Owen Hart, The British Bulldog, Ultimate Warrior, The Warlord and Virgil who I can all possibly make something with. We’ll return to that list in a moment. They aren’t the only ones on my roster. The remaining people are as far as I am concerned, expendable. They are Barry Hardy, Barry Horowitz, Bob Bradley, Jim Powers, Col. Mustafa, Brian Costello, Chris Walker, Kato, Tanaka and Nikolai Volkoff
Its time for our first show: I want to sort out this WWF Title picture first. I’ll have Jack Tunney announce a rematch between Undertaker and Hulk Hogan for the Royal Rumble. I want to set up some momentum for guys on the way to the Royal Rumble. Earthquake and Typhoon win a squash, as do The Legion of Doom. Ric Flair defeats El Matador. Shawn Michaels defeats Jim Neidhart. Money Inc defeat The Bushwhackers via distraction from The Beverly Brothers. Bret Hart defeats Repo Man. Jake Roberts appears on the Funeral Parlor and defeats Sgt. Slaughter in the main event. Hogan did a promo about Undertaker. I think for the next week, I’ll want Undertaker to speak on Hulk Hogan and probably a Randy Savage match.
I signed Paul Ellering to manage Legion of Doom. WCW poached Rick Martel from me. I signed Robert Gibson to make up for that loss and have offers out to a few others
Week 2: I started out with a Sid squash over Barry Horowitz. The Bushwhackers cost the Beverly Brothers a match against High Energy. Jim Duggan defeated Hercules*. Marty Jannetty and Mountie fought to a double countout. I didn’t want to beat either one of them just yet. Barbarian defeats The Big Bossman*. Valentine and Volkoff defeat The Nasty Boys*. Randy Savage defeats Rick Martel. I don’t know when Martel’s final day with the promotion will be but this is probably his final match with us.
Paul Roma wins the ECW World Title. Rick Martel leaves WWF
Ricky Morton and Bam Bam Bigelow sign to join us. Just a day after getting pen to paper on Morton, I find out that he has suffered an elbow injury that will restrict him for a month. He can’t start with us for a week anyway but that is still almost 3 weeks without him at full power.
Weel 3: Kerry Von Erich shows up drunk. Jimmy Snuka defeats Brooklyn Brawler. Haku defeats Virgil, who suffers a finger injury during the match. Bret Hart defeats Bob Bradley. Big Bossman defeats Skinner. Money Inc defeats High Energy. British Bulldog defeats Hercules. Hulk Hogan vs. Undertaker at the Royal Rumble is made a cage match. Roddy Piper defeats Mountie by intentional dq.

Week 4: I don’t think I have a deep enough roster to do a 3 hour show just yet. I ran a Rock and Roll Express hype video. Warlord won a squash. The Nasty Boys defeat The Youngbloods, who I brought in as enhancements. Legion of Doom is on the Funeral Parlor. Shawn Michaels defeats Sgt. Slaughter and is then chased out of the arena by Marty Jannetty. Texas Tornado defeats Repo Man. Sid defeats Col. Mustafa. Papa Shango defeats Jim Neidhart. Ultimate Warrior is announced to be in The Royal Rumble. The Berzerker defeats El Matador by countout. Randy Savage defeats Barbarian and is then attacked by Ric Flair.
Royal Rumble (week 4)
In a bout that had good wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, Roddy Piper defeated The Mountie in 18:18 by submission with The Sleeper. (75)
In an extremely short match, Bam Bam Bigelow defeated Jim Powers in 4:28 by pinfall with a Diving Headbutt. (53)
The Undertaker makes an elaborate entrance. (95)

In a bout that had fantastic heat and great wrestling, Hulk Hogan defeated The Undertaker in a Cage Escape match in 31:27 when Hulk Hogan escaped the cage. Hulk Hogan wins the WWF Heavyweight title. (76)

In a bout that had sub-par wrestling and little heat, The Beverly Brothers defeated The Bushwhackers in 9:45 when Blake Beverly defeated Bushwhacker Butch by pinfall with a Shaker Heights Spike. (51)
IIn a decent match, Ric Flair won a battle royal in 56:51. The other members of the 'final four' were The Ultimate Warrior, Mr. Perfect and Big Bossman, with The Ultimate Warrior being the final elimination. Mr. Perfect got the most eliminations over the course of the match. Ric Flair wins the WWF Royal Rumble title. (79)

Reasoning behind the ppv: I had Bret Hart as ref for the Piper/Mountie match, with the winner earning a future IC Title shot. I wanted to debut Bam Bam with an easy win. I had neither Beverly Brothers or Bushwhackers in the Royal Rumble so I figured I’d pace the card out by putting that match in. This was Mr. Perfect’s first match back as well as Ultimate Warrior’s. I will start the tradition of the Royal Rumble winner challenging for the belt and though no better place to start is with Ric Flair. Undertaker losing in a cage match, without taking a fall is a way to keep him strong.
