Is it awful? I can't work out if I love or hate it. I feel like that means I likely couldn't live with it.
This would be a safer option. But.... Boring??

I have an idea for the bathroom but it might be really ugly/dated/garish
For the past year + the only pasta dish Lemon has eaten is Carbonara, specifically made by Badger, I literally make it the same way, but somehow Lemon decides it's not even worth trying when I make it. Even plain/butter pasta is basically ignored in this house.
Today I made a simple Mac and cheese and Lemon absolutely loves it. So proud to finally find pasta I can make that Lemon will eat.
Is everyone as excited about windows as I am right now?
We've just had our second guy in to quote for windows, absolutely nothing wrong with the first lot, liked the guy, they have nice windows. But this guy was on another level and just knows his stuff in such a way that I feel I would trust him with my life. He's gotten us excited about curved windows, which would be taking it back to the original look of the windows, but honestly that's gonna be a lot of money, he's going to quote for with and without that option. But I would love a curved window.
Left images are without the curved glass, the right are with curved glass. So pretty.
I've been so stressed about the lack of holiday we've had planned, it's just been at the bottom of the list with all the background house stuff we've been trying to get sorted and we've said we'd do something, but then just not sorted anything.
We decided to sit down and sort something tonight, it was already going to have to be a staycation and we were looking for something Lemon would really love but bloody hell this shit is expensive and most places had a lot booked up so we didn't have a load of choices on dates or how long.
We basically sat for a couple hours sending each other links and discussing if it would work/was with it etc. We gave up.
I just turned around and said we would be best making a staycation even more literal and staying home and just having trips out each day. And Badger basically thought it was a brilliant idea. There is still so much that we haven't explored. So we will do that and then spend all the money we would have on some shitty accommodation on trips out. So we are thinking beaches, pools, adventure parks, zoos, boat trips. All that jazz, I think it will be really fun!
Days turned out pretty good if I'm honest. We got home and Lemons been on his yoto singing alone to the songs, it's kept him busy while I hung a load of washing on the line and put another load away, then did a quick tidy and made lunch. After that he's been building stuff on his own, literally went into another room to play as told me he was busy, so I've sat and been trying to work out how much I need to take my trousers up.
Took Lemon to the park, he was being a bit of a dick, so I gave him a warning that we would go home if he didn't stop, mostly that works with him, but apparently it didn't today and to be honest when we have been with other people recently I've not always followed through cos you know, I'm trying to make friends and don't want to leave.
It didn't work, we were there less than 2 mins and now back home.
It needs to be done but now I need to figure out what to do cos we would have been there about 2hrs.
I think ultimately I just need to start doing stuff I want/need to do around lemon cos I seem to have defaulted to only doing the house clean, laundry, admin and stuff I enjoy when he is at nursery and there really isn't time for all that in the time he's gone.
So I'm sorting some washing and then I think I'm gonna finally try and sort my trousers
When was the last time anyone watched zoolander?
We've had such a lovely spontaneous afternoon.
One of the mums at the stay and play told us about the NR2 Yard sale, so we walked around there and said we'd perhaps meet up, I texted her and asked if she was about and her and her husband invited us back to theirs. The boys take such a long time to warm up to each other, but when they do it is so sweet to see how they get on. We sat in their garden chatting while the boys played and it was just so nice. They've invited us to a birthday party too so I'm pretty happy.
I've spent my evening randomly announcing to Badger the horrible side effects of my period, he's taken it on the chin.
But now I'm annoyed with him because I was joking about how he should buy a big bag of chocolate buttons every month and any time I'm either being a psycho bitch (which he simply needs to just accept with a smile) or complaining about my period he can then give me a chocolate button.
His response was "that's a good idea, but I'm not going to do it" which like WTF why wouldn't you do something that's a good idea and honestly you don't need to hand them out through my whole fucking period. Just get me some chocolate when you know I'm due on (I make very constant announcements) and that would give you all the brownie points in the world.
So anyhow now I'm just mad he doesn't do that anyhow and I'm sat here writing our meal plan (like a mug) for next week thinking I could just have fish every day (he doesn't like fish but I do so try and do it once a week after not eating fish for years cos I didn't want to give him food he didn't like) and that will teach him.
Like sure it started as a joke but I'm genuinely pissed now and fine maybe I'm being slightly (SLIGHTLY) unreasonable BUT IM ON MY PERIOD AND ALL EVENING I'VE HAD A SHOOTING PAIN UP MY ARSEHOLE AND I'VE ONLY MENTIONED IT ONCE.
I got a call from nursery today that a kid had hurt Lemon, it sounds like it wasn't seen by any of the staff, Lemon had been outside and came inside to tell an adult, but apparently said he didn't know how it happened but said it was one kid.
The key worker said she initially thought it was someone digging their nails into Lemon causing two marks that broke the skin but he wouldn't confirm how it may have happened.
She went to investigate and found out from the other children that it wasn't the child Lemon had said it was, but it was one of his friends who had done it with one of the garden trowel type things they have in the sandpit. They also told her the friend had told Lemon to lie about who did it to him.
She did tell me it had pierced the skin twice (because of that I had in my head it was actually like a little garden fork), but Lemon was ok and obviously had cried but was quickly feeling better.
She said the child that did it is on a behavioural care plan, which honestly I don't really know how much this means cos they can't actually share any information.
But I collected him and saw one mark and I'm sorry but there is no way you could have thought that was nails I'd already chatted to someone and didn't want to make a big deal about it Infront of Lemon, but when we left I saw the other mark and it was bigger. Like a little chunk out of his arm.
I now realise she was right saying trowel and my image of two little "stab" marks next to each other are actually two bigger marks than I expected, one on each arm, so the kid essentially stabbed him twice with some force.
He hasn't said much about it. Just that he "didn't see what happened or who did it" which I don't think I believe.
I'm also just so worried they are going to get infected because he was just so dirty when I collected him (pretty standard)
He won't accept antiseptic cream so I'm gonna do it while he sleeps.
Where is everyone buying their radiators from?
This is where I live!!!
I had a voice note from a friend back in Sussex who had asked if Norwich was all I imagined it was going to be. And it's honestly put me in such a good headspace, made me take a step back and remind myself why we moved here.
With all the stuff with the House and Lemon, I've definitely felt heavy and been allowing myself to be dragged down. So hearing from her and being asked about what I love gave me time to think.
I've decided that when I drop Lemon to nursery in the morning I'll go for a walk to explore bits of Norwich I've not spent much time in. This is where I went today.
Well done to the sickly Victorian boy!
I want to get my sewing machine out and fix some trousers that are too long for me. But for some reason this sounds way harder than I know it actually is.
I'm having a nice freezing cold bath because there wasn't any hot water and I didn't realise cos I was pouring the bath while doing other stuff. I shoved a bath bomb in there too so refusing to waste it have decided a cold bath is it.
