Help me understand how the color of my skin is a threat? Where my skin is not as porcelain and white and affect your thoughts Lookin at me and all you see is hate, bigotry and even death How white washed the media is. a young brown girl watching tv in the 90's praying and hoping that one day her skin color would magically turn white Never accepting the beauty of my caramel skin complexion and the deep roots in Africa of my mother, uprooted and moved to a place far into the south My brother targeted, profiled, stopped and beaten, unrecognizable Help me understand how resisting arrest leads someone to beat someone while handcuffed? You will never understand what you do affects people. How heartless your actions are and how careless politician, police and anyone in power looks at people of color. No representation, no actions screaming for justice but never any change. Help me understand how I should feel safe when I can't even trust those who protect and serve and willingly pull out a gun and kill without a second thought.
