Earned Stripes (April 2016)

For the month of April, Drew of Beyond All Reach + wn? collaborated for Earned Stripes, a store at Trade Pop-Up. Throughout the month they featured items from Beyond All Reach, Business As Usual, Collector’s Edition, Greyskull, stay silent PVD, a vinyl selection from Get On Down and art work from BK The Artist, Rashad Nelson, Niko and Punch.

With Pusha T’s second solo album + short film releasing in December, Def Jam Records and stay silent PVD teamed up for a screening of “Darkest Before Dawn” at Trade Pop-Up.

It’s Guatever!

To end July and kick-off August, artist Sagie Vangelina hosted her Illusionary Funk show. Serving also a celebration for her birthday, Sagie displayed many new original pieces.

In May, RISD students Gabriel Cohen + Max Simon curated a show for Trade featuring an amazing collection of work from their peers. This show played on the various themes of wetness, sexual and non-sexual alike.

Different Strokes: Ye Edition

We recently started Different Strokes, a monthly themed paint class which is open to all experience levels. For our inaugural class, we used the music and art of Kanye West for inspiration. Check out the pictures below and stay tuned for July’s session.

This Ain’t Bout U by Cheyenne Julien

Cheyenne Julien’s work screams of her own style. Currently attending RISD, native to the Bronx, NY, we asked Cheyenne to display her work at Trade after seeing her work featured in Temporal Defrost show early 2015.

For her first solo show entitled, This Ain’t Bout U, Cheyenne told a strong narrative influenced by her surroundings in the Bronx, NYC.

Why The Beef? Issue 8 Swap

Why The Beef?, known around Providence as YTB, is a collaborative zine between MICA and RISD art students. For their Issue #8, the Alice and Zoe from YTB reached out to us to host their Providence launch event.

Equipped with video live stream of their MICA counterparts in Maryland, on Friday May 8th, students came by and purchased zines and traded art amongst other event attendees.
