Trooper Allen stopped Darbrett Black on I-45 in Freestone County near Fairfield. He spoke briefly with him, then turned his back and started to walk away. Black opened fire on the trooper and fled the scene.

An unremorseful thug murdered the officer for no reason whatsoever. Black had a history in Smith County of assaulting an officer and trying to take his gun from 2015. While news media kept stating that the  “motive was unknown,” we full well know the motive: hatred of police.
