Right, going in.

I wonder who this human is supposed to be. Probably the guy that had the statue made. Humans seem to like building statues of themselves, even when they aren't really important or interesting.

The gates are open… welcoming. It's been cleared, right? There are no creepy necromancers left? There are ghosts here though. I can feel them in the back of my mind. Angry. Afraid.

Please tell me we didn't get lost in the haunted school of cultists and necromancers. Please?

Scholomance, school for creeps and weirdo's.

I'm not being mean or anything - it really is. They used to teach necromancy here. That's the sort of magic that animates dead things. Not very hygienic.

It's a relief that we're finally here after such a long time. Kirkian said the artifact that turned the High Elves at the lodge wretched came from here. Maybe we can find something to help with my nightmares.

We should really be more serious in the face of such misery, shouldn't we?

I'm going to need new boots soon at this rate.

This is an interesting looking tree. Very dramatic. Someone cut it that way to creep people out, right? Trees don't scream in agony do they?

I think we might be a little lost. What else is new, right? Outdated maps are really not the best for traveling.

New supplies, check!

And we're back on the road. It's raining, but that's nothing new. Does anyone else worry that the rain here is made out of something horrid? Like, the tears of fallen plague victims. Something like that.

Note to self… we really need to check out creepy skull and bones place near Tyr's Hand sometime. My curiosity demands it.

Scholomance is pretty far from here so we're stopping at some of the many towers along the way. I forgot which one this is. Let's just call it “the one with the gnome”. Cute!

Time to be a little more stern. Humans take their worship seriously after all.

I keep saying humans because they originally lived here. I'm well aware that there are members of all races in the ranks of the crusaders.

I've always wondered if they all convert to the human way of religion. I've been a worshipper of the Light for as long as I can remember, but I don't want to do it the stick-up-your-arse way they handle it.

We all know the Light is just a very powerful force of nature and magic, right? It's not like it can tell us how to live, can it?

That's just my take on it anyway. I left Arveriel outside by the way, which is why you don't see him on these pictures. He couldn't stop giggling. Goof.

I know it must seem like Arveriel and I are just too perfect when it comes to taking pictures.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

I'd like to show you our attempt at making that one perfect shot, and failing miserably.

It didn't help that Arveriel was in a goofy mood either. Enjoy!

Not sleeping outside on the ground means I've had a nice weekend. How my standards have lowered…

It was really nice though. I'm almost sad about leaving this place behind. Bye little house!

Poor Princess needs to get back to work too. I hope he had a nice rest. Not that he seems to care much. Nothing gets under his skin. I bet the pandaran would see that as some sort of lesson.

And with that, we're back on the road again. Let's pick up those provisions in Tyr’s Hand. Arveriel’s flower-picking guy never showed so he got off easy.

This entire town is abandoned, empty except for the spirits that haunt it.

Not literal spirits this time, as far as we can tell. We've found an empty house that isn't too rotten yet that we can camp in.

I can't help but wonder what happened to all the furniture. It couldn't have rotten away without a trace. Did they take it? Looters? Is there a Death Knight somewhere with a fancy human dresser in his chambers?

Almost feels like we're regular people in a regular house. If by regular you mean mildew and emptiness. I've been on the road too long.

We're sure as Fel not staying in Holy Hand for the night. Time to find a good place to camp.

There are all these abandoned human structures behind the town. Pretty creepy to see. Most of these died from the plague as far as I understand. Or were they the Scarlets kicked out by the Death Knights before they got freed?

I wonder if the Lich King ever regretted the decision to betray his knights. I'm not sure if we could have won in Northrend without them. Well, I say we… I of course mean all the other people with that. Those that have actually been in Northrend.

Nothing is free, not even the help of the holiest of holy men.

You gotta work if you wonna eat. Arveriel will be picking flowers (ahum, herbs) and me?

I get to sit around in a library, sorting books. Sweet! There are worse jobs in the world.

Hm… Most if these books are also about the Light. No surprise there I suppose. There is still a lot of cultist drivel too. Read this stuff for too long and you'll soon go on a holy Crusade of your own.

What? I'm having a break.

We got the fel out of that Room of Horrors and found the supply room… sweet.

Just look at all this stuff! Want. Need. Haven't had a proper meal in ages! I wanted to re-appropriate some of these items, but Arveriel keeps me on the straight and narrow.

Oooh, books! Momentary distraction while on our way to the quartermaster, I assure you. Hm. All of these are about the Light anyway. Boring.

Bureaucrats… I suppose you have them everywhere. Fill in form A to do B but not before you did C, because that makes sense. I just want some cheese!

We've been in Tyr’s hand for 10 whole minutes and we haven't been chased out. Victory! Honestly, I don't think that badly of the Crusade. I suppose I'm just tired.

Time to find the quartermaster to see what we'll have to do for some fresh food and water. Maybe he is down there?

Oh...okay. Not creepy or anything. Not at all. I'm sincerely hoping this is someone's secret Dungeon of Pleasure.

What? That is way less bad than the other option. If you don't hear from me soon, well, then whoever is in charge of this wasn't too happy with our discovery.

Who is Tyr and why is his hand so important? Or her hand, what do I know? 

The Crusaders have recently convinced the local religious fanatics to move out (with gentle persuasion, of course) so they can replace them with their own religious fanatics. Oh, well.

We're here to get supplies. Hunting and foraging in this part of the Plaguelands is icky at best and lethal at worst so we're kinda dependant on the goodwill of the Argents. Praise the Light.

Expedition Azeroth, entry 32

Kirkian has just gone completely bonkers. There is no talking to him. All he wants to do is sit there and talk to the voice in his head. The crusaders told us he doesn't eat or sleep and that he'll probably won't survive very long. They can't get Ellaria out as long as he doesn't let them.

Quite frankly I'm planning to file that bit of info under ‘their problem’. We got what we needed from them: some intell. It seems that the artifact that started all this was retrieved from the ruins of Scholomance.

For those of you that don't know, Scholomance was a school for necromantic dweeps and cultists. I believe it has since been cleared out but magic like that leaves a mark.

We're going there though, that's why we're on the road again. Hopefully we can find out what that artifact is and how to get it out of my head.

If that's what's causing it at all.

Just a sidenote: what is with the giant maggots? No, seriously... Yuch!

We're trying to find the will to go and talk to Kirkian one more time, but it's hard. Fel to these High Elves. If they hadn't been so stubborn this wouldn't have happened in the first place.

Oops, looks like we took a wrong turn. It takes some serious skill to get lost in this small town, so don't laugh please. And yes, that's a ghost. What is it doing here? No idea! We got the fel out of there. I've had my fill of ghosts.

We managed to find Kirkian and let's just say it didn't go well. Ruddy High Elves. I've been negative enough for one entry though, so here is a picture of our very handsome Arveriel for your enjoyment.
