so many of you think you're fighting against purity culture and standing with freaks and perverts but you're still attached to the idea that there are good perverts and bad perverts. you still want to tell people what they can find arousing, what fantasies they can have and what words they can use. and you still believe consenting adults deserve to be shamed and judged for their desires. you're literally participating in purity culture instead of rejecting it like you think you are

becoming too OC pilled will ruin your fandom experience forever. i have invented The Character who is perfectly tailored to my own tastes and not beholden to any writers or showrunners. and i can even make more of them if i want. but watch out.
"You know what's harder than Getting Better? Living Like That" is just the thesis for my whole shit going on right now honestly. You know what's harder than doing my physical therapy? Hurting All The Time. You know what's harder than addressing my gender dysphoria? Hurting All The Time
I'm Doing The Hard Thing and it's *easier* than how I was living before. If you make yourself feel better you will have more energy to spend on Getting Better. Nice inch nails - the upward spiral. Crawl out of your grave Thursday
youve been a bad *remembers youre plural* people
I’m sorry my lovelies but the reason you hate yourself is because you treat you like shit. If you came up to me and then told me I was a fuck up who could never do anything right I'd fucking hate you too.
if you didn't let me go to bed until after midnight because you'd rather watch Netflix than let me rest, and then got mad at me for not being productive the next day I'd be PISSED
You keep calling me a fatass but you tell other overweight people they’re beautiful? Why do you keep shitting on MY weight, then?
Oh? It’s different if it’s me? Wow fuck you too
Love is a verb! Self love isn’t a warm fuzzy feeling, it is compassion and action in support of yourself!
And yes, this includes having compassion for the bully in your head. Unfortunately that part is also you and deserves as much of your understanding as the rest of you.
via @corazondebeskar
This is the real reason why you need to be kind to the bully in your brain too, because that motherfucker is really good at doing a switcheroo when you're not paying attention.
the usual fearmongering around detransition and testosterone feels pretty unserious when you already know and love trans and intersex women. like sure maybe you will regret it, but so what? worst case scenario you end up as a woman who has experienced the effects of having elevated testosterone in her system. there are a lot of those. you will survive.
nothing worse than someone who wants you to watch a show just so they can have nuanced discussions about it

"we have food at home" yeah and the sink is never clear and our fucking pots are full of mold, maybe that's why i want to eat out??
Hello transgender woman. You deserve partners who are *excited* to introduce you to their friends
When people talk about the disposability of transfeminine people it isn't just about the sharpest examples where someone is pointedly ostracised. Straight trans women know that lots of men don't want to admit they're with a trans woman, trans lesbians far more rarely express the same with cis partners. Many cis lesbians will date trans women and a subset of them are absolutely ride or die but the ones who aren't can be just as bad as cis men about this. Generally though, it's a subtler thing. I know trans women who have been parts of their respective friend groups of mostly cis people for years and years and been passed by as people just happen to form closer friendships with each other, with other transmisogyny exempt people, cis lesbians happy to date trans men but not trans women, events that include everyone but the transfems, spaces that exclude trans women or make us unsafe used for community spaces unthinkingly, and bit by bit the only trans woman in the friend group lags behind.
The "uninterrogated ick" is what I often think of this stuff as. Society teaches a level of disgust to everyone about certain groups of people in some different and some overlapping ways. For example people of colour, especially black people, experience forms of racism associated with a presumed uncleanliness. Homeless people, sex workers, queer people, "criminals", all these groups are stigmatised as unclean by the mainstream implicit biases spread unconsciously (and sometimes very consciously) in culture.
Trans women who have experienced harassment and ostracism campaigns experience a more intense form of the "uninterrogated ick". It is literally exactly all the same forces that ostracise trans women from society in general but dialled up to the nth degree. The Bad Tranny is unemployable, finds it harder to get housing, is fun to fuck but too risky to introduce to friends, and should be excluded any time someone feels uncomfortable. This is why trans women feel unsafe in spaces that spread callout posts, for the record, if anyone unaffected by transmisogyny needed that unpacking. The push and pull of this "ick" affects all transfeminine people, and the division between the good tranny and bad tranny is illusory - we can see this in how many stated reasons for ostracisms boil down to "she icked someone out and then was declared bad and ever since then when she shows up somewhere the ick is worse which is a crime against the people there".
Transgender woman: you deserve partners who are excited to introduce you to their friends. You deserve friends who are excited to introduce you to their friends. You deserve organising comrades, colleagues, community members who will check in on you, recognise your vulnerability and give you the space to just be. You deserve people in your life who proactively include you, not people who frown a little and shake their head when you're pushed out and certainly not people who resist helping you build up community and support around you. You deserve everything, do not accept less.
y'all ever have that ONE WORD you just consistently cannot spell without assistance? like no matter how old you are, no matter how many grade school vocab quizzes you got tucked under your belt, there's always that one word will haunt you until the day you die.
mine is beaurocracy and autocorrect had to swoop in like goddamn Spiderman to save me from it. reblog and put your Problem Word in the tags.
