Weird Al! One and only concert of 2017 for the 501st at Star Wars Celebration Orlando.
Florida Road Trip Pt 2: Star Wars Celebration!
So much going on and happened! Follow the pictures and videos for a play by play and make sure to check out my instgram for more!
I started the whole trip with my favorite tequila. I couldn’t believe the hotel bar had Tres Generaciones Anejo. I quickly got everyone around me who was drinking margaritas to switch.
Who’s the rebel spy?
Just your friendly, neighborhood sith deadpool choking his lightsaber chicken... Too much?
The one time our friend’s droid was on display.
I stalked Ray Park when he stopped by the hotel bar being too shy to say hi.
so my husband did it for me.
We also got to race the droids and go to a Weird Al Yankovic concert. For videos of the after party, droid races, and concert, visit my instagram here.
Comment below! Let me know what you thought or if you would like to see more pictures from Star Wars Celebration!
Florida Road Trip
The formulation for this trip started with a long weekend in Orlando for Star Wars Celebration. My husband, TKBear, signed up to be an exhibitor for his R2D2 as part of the Droid Builders Club. Yes, it’s a thing. You can check out his tutorials at www.tkbearcrew.com. However, due to his new job (reference my welcome post) and the timing of everything, we ended up extending the long weekend to a whole week long trip since we had the vacation time to use.
We woke up early and drove down to St. Pete’s Beach. It was a loooooooooong drive but so worth it. We love St. Pete’s!
I mean, come on, just look at that view! We stayed at the Beachcomber resort. It was reasonable considering it happened to be college spring break week. After a couple of days of some good food, relaxation, and meeting with some family and friends; we over to Orlando.
We went to Orlando early to have time to visit Universal Studios. We got the park hopper pass for the day because I really wanted to see the Harry Potter park. Yes, I am that nerdy. Hello, I was in town for a Star Wars convention.
Before Universal, we met up with some friends at Disney Springs who were also in town early. Mad Scientist with a Camera, Bryan Humphries and his wife MJ. Love these guys! We had good drinks, food, and fun. Shenanigans ensued...
We got cupcakes from a vending machine in Disney Springs!!!! I was so excited about this.
The only reason I agreed to go on the trip was because I really, REALLY wanted to go to Universal and the Harry Potter park.
Pumpkin Juice is not good. AT ALL! That said, the frozen butter beer was pretty tasty. Check out my instgram for more exploits
Here’s a video from Ollivander’s on my instagram.
Look around my instagram for more from Harry Potter and continue on to my next post for Florida Road Trip Pt 2: Star Wars Celebration.
Welcome!
Hey ya’ll and welcome to my page of traveling exploits.
A little about me... My husband and I recently moved back to the Columbus, Ohio area (currently int he boonies) for his job. While I wait to start my new position, I accidentally planned an entire MONTH of travel. I say accidentally due to the dates of my travel all seem to coincide so I am barely spending a couple of days at a time back home in between trips.
I apparently travel a lot (or so I am told) and I also love to write about anything and everything so to help build up my writing chops I decided to start different blogs for each hobby and you have landed, or found, the one I created for travel. So, I say again, welcome!
At the moment, I have a back log of trips and pictures. These include two trips to Vegas and a Florida road trip. So far, the currently upcoming trips are to Bonnaroo in Tullahoma, Tennesee; Jackson, Mississippi for the closing of my home and visit the friends I made during my four years of living there; Perioria, Illinois for a Here Come the Mummies and KC and the Sunshine Band concert (look them up because they are amazing!); Cleveland, Ohio; and Atlanta, Georgia for Dragon Con.
So hang out and keep coming back for more updates. Check out my other blogs and feel free to comment and contact me. Look forward to hearing from you.
