“I feel like that side of me is so prominent within my career. A lot of the films that I’ve been a part of or people that I’ve worked with are because I’ve reached out and just said, ‘I’m interested in you. What are you doing? What is this script that I’ve heard about?’ Mostly because I don’t really know any other way to be than proactive. I feel like there’s this section of the world — and I’ll sort of generalize here — that is the Marilyn Monroes of the world, where they feel like everybody has to take care of them and come to them. They attract people by being introverted. I’m sure that people would argue that Marilyn was extroverted, but for the sake of this analogy, she’ll be introverted. And then there are the people who draw things to themselves. And I feel like, for whatever reason, whether it was being raised by writers and producers or being raised primarily in a family of brothers, I was sort of taught that if you want something, you go out and get it. You don’t wait for it to come to you, because it might not.”
