What is the Truce Project?
It is an initiative for the band and, of course, the fandom. We believe that Emotional Roadshow is very important to both Tyler and Josh, and we thought* that making a surprise for them would be a way of creating a memory for all of us!
*The original idea came from an anonymous person, who is already aware of this project. We love you.
Everyone! If you’re attending to any of the shows on the tour, whether you’re on pit or not, you can.
Even if I’m not on the pit, can I participate?
Of course you can, friend. We need as many people as we can to sing the song. Actually if the pit and the seats starting singing at the same time, it will be even more beautiful.
Of course! We know a lot of people want to be part of this, and we absolutely do not want to leave you out. Every show is important and special, and every attendant deserves to create this kind of memory.
It’s simple. Truce is an incredible song with a beautiful message that means a lot for almost the entire fandom. So we intend to sing it for Tyler and Josh after Car Radio.
Although it would be amazing, the team considered only the first stanza and the chorus:
Now the night is coming to an end
Oohhh, ooohhh
The sun will rise and we will try again
Oohhh, ooohhh
Stay alive, stay alive, for me
You will die, but now your life is free
Take pride in what is sure to die
Of course, if you feel like singing the whole song, you can do it!
Some people who are not aware of the project could catch on later and sing along.
How do I know when to start singing?
The idea is start singing the song after Car Radio. Why? Well, during their show in Mexico City, after Car Radio there was a perfect moment of silence, so we really believe that it’s the perfect moment to starting singing Truce. (Check the setlist in here).
Did you guys changed it? Weren’t we going to sing it after Trees?
Yes, we changed the time that everyone will sing it. Why? Well, the whole idea was to sing it after Trees, but before Tyler says “We are twenty one Pilots and so are you”. It was a great idea because that you be a grand finale and stuff, but we actually had some problems because of the cheering. During the end of the show (after Trees), people are screaming and cheering VERY loud, so no one was able to hear people singing Truce. We can’t change the cheering and screaming (actually, we don’t want to. We love it and we agree that the boys deserve it), so we decided (with our help) that we should change the time that everyone would sing it.
What does a collaborator do?
You can help us in three ways: spreading the word online, spreading the word in the line and/or just singing the song. Your role is just being part of the project and singing with as much passion as you can. If you wanna help us spreading the word, we appreciate it too.
What does an ambassador do?
Well, a ambassador is the person that needs to help us spreading the word online and/or in the line. They are also the people that are always going to help you if you need to. Like, if you can’t contact us, you can contact them. And at the line, they are the ones that are going to help you too if you need.
Will anyone distribute flyers?
We had people distributing flyers at the MSG shows (X) and we already have some people willing to create it and distribute it in other concerts. If you are willing to make it and distribute, we appreciate it. If you don’t, it’s okay! You can just spread the word.
If you want to be one of our ambassadors or collaborators, contact us. You can also check the ambassadors and collaborators here. We are always updating the page.
Ways to help the project:
We know that not everyone is comfortable sending asks off anon, but are willing to help in every possible way.
So here are some ways to help the project, wheter you’re going to the shows or not.
- Take advantage of social media. If there’s a fan club in your country/city, is likely that they have a Facebook/Twitter account. Contact them and tell them about the project. If there isn’t a fan club, we’d suggest you to look for the ’event’ for your show on the twenty one pilots official fan page (this, sadly, only includes shows for the USA). This way, you’ll find the people who will attend to the concert. Once you find them, tell them about the project.
- Spread the word while in line. People who are collaborating with the project are making flyers with basic info about the project: what it is, how it works, what you have to do and when. (For this information, go to our about page.) If you are not able to make flyers, don’t worry.
Before the line: Take care of yourself: drink enough water, wear comfortable clothes.
While in line: If you feel comfortable talking to people near you, spread the word about the project.
The moment of truth: As soon as “Car Radio” ends, prepare your lungs and START SINGING. It doesn’t matter if your voice is not loud enough, people near you can catch on later and sing along.
After the show: You’ve made it. Whatever the results are, you’ve made it. And we’re proud of you!
(Also, for the people who are filming the event, please tag the blog or submit the link to your post so we can share the videos. Thanks.)
Yes! We have a Twitter account with the same username (@truceproject). Follow us and use the hashtag #TruceProject.
any help is welcome!
if you’re not going to the shows, or if you’re not comfortable taking either ambassador’s or collaborator’s role, you still can help!
you can share your art with us, or just reblog our posts.
