“I’m almost done with the porch,” Sirius said, leaning in to press a lazy kiss into Remus’ hair. “Gonna start your greenhouse in a bit.”
Remus hummed, lowering his book and glancing over the top of the page. He smiled, reaching up to wipe a streak of dirt from Sirius’ jaw. “Need any help, love?”
“Nah, ’tis a surprise. Enjoy your book...it’ll only take about an hour. You’re going to be so impressed.” He winked, caught Remus’ hand, kissed his palm and strode out the back door.
Remus smirked, curling deeper into the armchair, appreciating Sirius’ rather lovely retreating form…until
“Twenty-eight!” George’s voice rang out from the couch, where he and Fred were sprawled, parchment between them as they planned something undoubtedly illegal for the upcoming school year.
On the rug, Ron groaned, not even pretending to touch his homework. “Oh, brilliant. I said twenty-seven. Just my luck, innit?”
“Pathetic,” Fred scoffed. “Amateur, brother o’ mine. I went with fifty-nine. Go big or go home.”
“Fifty-five,” Hermione said calmly, not looking up from her neatly arranged summer homework on the coffee table.
Harry, lying on his stomach beside her, quill tapping his chin, said, “I’m sticking with sixty-four.”
Remus frowned.
They’d been at this for nearly an hour now. At first he had ignored it, assuming it was one of those strange summer games children invented. But now every so often one of them would blurt out a number with alarming urgency, and every single time Sirius happened to be somewhere nearby.
Sirius was having an off day today and had decided to do a little mending around the cottage. but in practice this meant he spent half his time wandering back into the cottage for supplies and emerging with things Remus was fairly sure had no business being used.
In the last hour alone he had come in for twine, a golden tray, one of Molly’s old mixing bowls, a hand mirror, and, for reasons unknown, a spoon. Remus adored it though, because he got to kiss his boyfriend everytime he passed by.
The counting was probably nothing, Remus decided and went back to reading.
Almost another hour later, after a lot more numbers had been shouted, Remus decided to get to the bottom of it.
“Sixty three!” Ron shouted far too loudly for someone who apparently had lost, from whatever game they were playing..
Fred rolled his eyes. “That’s not how this works, Ronald.”
“Oh shut up, I’m tracking the score now.”
“Almost” Harry was grinning to himself. Hermione had, rather suspiciously, stopped reading altogether. The twins were peering over the back of the couch toward the open back door, intensely.
Remus lowered his book. “Alright, what are you lot doing?” His curiosity was now impossible to ignore.
No one volunteered an explanation. Too lost in whatever was happening
Then Sirius came in again, streaked with dirt, a smudge of green across one cheek, and headed straight for the kitchen, but not before squeezing the back of Remus’ neck and pressing a soft kiss to his temple.
“Yesssss!” Harry pumped his fist. Hermione glared at him.
“Harry?” Remus started, but before Harry could reply Sirius ruffled his hair then blew him a ridiculous little kiss before disappearing again.
“Aaaaannd Time!” Harry announced, sitting up fast . “Two hours. Final count: Sixty Six.”
There was immediate uproar.
“What?” George squawked.
“No, no, no, that’s absurd,” Fred said, throwing his hands up. “Sixty-six?”
Hermione shut her book with a snap. “That is wildly unfair. Harry lives here. He had an advantage.”
Ron, already digging into his pockets with a look of deep suffering, nodded. “Yeah. You should’ve been disqualified from the start.”
Harry said smugly, holding out his hand.. “You’re all just sore losers.”
With much grumbling, Ron surrendered four Chocolate Frogs.
Fred slapped down two Fizzing Whizzbees.
George contributed a crumpled bag of Acid Pops, muttering darkly about corruption.
Hermione placed one packet of sugar quills in Harry’s palm and said, “This was poorly regulated from the beginning.”
Remus stared at the pile of sweets now accumulating in front of Harry.
Then finally, because he could not bear it any longer, he asked, “Would someone mind telling me what, exactly, you’ve all been betting on?”
Harry looked instantly sheepish. Ron looked delighted to expose him.
Fred and George both turned toward Remus at once, mouths already opening.. But before anyone could answer, the back door swung open again.
Sirius stepped in and crossed straight to Remus, bent down, and kissed his cheek. “Babe,” he said, as if this were the most natural thing in the world, “come see. I finished the new enchanted sprinkler system and only got moderately attacked by the hose.”
Remus looked from Sirius, to the children, to Harry’s heap of sweets. Understanding dawned.
“Oh my god,” he said, already laughing. “You were counting how many times he’s kissed me.”
“Yep! Sixty-seven times in two hours. Pads has no self-control whatsoever.”

written for the wolfstar comfort fest 2025. prompt: the morning after halloween. words: 692. tw: vomiting.
"You didn't even drink last night, love," Sirius said, his hand coming to rest on his head to pet Remus' curls in a soothing gesture.
Instead of replying, Remus heaved again into the toilet, not much coming out this time after having spent half of the morning kneeling on the tiled bathroom as if he was dealing with the worst of hangovers.
But it wasn't that. Sirius was right, Remus hadn't had alcohol in months, actually, since James' memorable birthday party—memorable because of its effects, not because of either of them actually remembered anything after the second round of tequila shots had appeared.
However, it wasn't that terrible past experience either. He had hoped for a bit more time, though.
Remus sighed once he was done, sitting back on his heels as he cleaned his mouth with the back of his hand, and Sirius leaned in to flush the toilet. Then, his boyfriend turned towards him in open concern.
The view was a bit ridiculous because, even if Sirius hadn't drunk anything last night either —designated driver and all that, seeing as Remus didn't even have a licence—, he had decided to forgo removing his makeup, and what had been the Mad Hatter of Remus' Cheshire Cat now looked more like a splattered multicoloured cake on his face.
Still incredibly handsome, though.
"Do you want some water?" He asked, snapping Remus out of his train of thought, who shook his head. Even the mere idea of water made his poor tummy churn. Sirius tutted. "Come on, Rem, it'll help you."
"I don't—uf," Remus cut himself, swallowing down another wave of nausea. "I don't think so, cariad."
"Maybe we should go to the A&E," Sirius insisted.
"'M not dying."
"Doctor's closed today, and I think it'll be smart to take a look at that," he said, leaning forward from where he was sitting on the edge of the tub to cup Remus' cheek. "Can't be good for you to vomit so much and so often in this little time."
Remus smiled up at him, a bit wobbly. "I mean, I'm pretty sure we'll have to go to the doctor at some point—"
"If you're agreeing with me, then we really should get going," Sirius interrupted him, already standing up and extending a hand towards him. "Come on—"
"Sirius, love," he cut in, "sit again."
"Why?"
"Trust me," Remus insisted, "you're gonna need it."
Visibly dubious and looking at him as if he was about to grow a second head, Sirius complied and sat again, this time on the floor with him, their legs touching. Remus' stomach protested again when he turned and leaned to open the cupboard under the sink, rumaging for a few seconds until he found what he was looking for.
"Close your eyes and extend your hand," he said, and when he faced his boyfriend again, Sirius had surprisingly accepted it.
Feeling his anxiety peaking, even if he was almost sure about the possible outcome, Remus slowly positioned the little stick in the middle of Sirius' hand, putting attention so the important part faced up. "You can look now."
Sirius opened his eyes, blinking a few times to adjust back to the light, and lowered his gaze. Remus sensed, more than saw, how he froze as he took it in, and bit his bottom lip in a nervous gesture. It wasn't much space for doubt, the two lines glaringly obvious in a way that felt insulting, but Remus respected Sirius' silent shock as well as his own increasing panic allowed him.
When, finally, after what felt like a lifetime, Sirius looked up again, his grey eyes were brimming with unshed tears that prompted Remus' own immediately. "Are you—?"
"Yes," Remus said at once, nodding vigorously. "I took like… four of them just to be sure. I very much am."
"You're pregnant."
"Quite a lot, yes."
Sirius' face broke into a wide grin. "Oh, my God, Rem."
"I know," he said with a giant smile of his own, the only thing he could manage before his boyfriend pulled him into his lap and hugged Remus tightly, almost suffocatingly.
The Marauders
Sirius’s so hot omg
Sirius Black is left handed
Remus first learns this when they are sitting with their hands interlocked doing work and Sirius just casually writes his essay with his left hand because his right is holding Remus’
And Remus is shocked because how has he never noticed??
And he’s not writing in his perfect Black cursive, his handwriting with his left hand is a lot messier, a lot more ‘him’
But the next day he is taking notes in class with his right hand and the perfect handwriting is back and Remus is so confused
So he finally asks Sirius about it and he tells him about how he was born a leftie
But his parents couldn’t have a defected heir, so they forced him to learn with his right hand
So now he can write pretty well with both but just defaults to the right because that’s what he’s always done
And Remus just decides at every opportunity to sit on Sirius’ right and hold his hand so he has to write with his left
Because it’s so beautiful and true and him
Screaming, crying, throwing up from the wonderful job @maluceh did on my jily commission!
We love a good, steamy between class moment!

When talking about day-by-day, Sirius is a show-off and Remus prefers to observe, but then Sirius has a voyeurism kink and Remus an exhibitionism kink if this makes any sense idk
