I think some people dislike how the latest volume of RWBY went, and decided to scapegoat him for it. Add that to Tumblr’s usual list of problems, and you can see why he gets villified. :P That, and the beat-to-death excuse about Jaune. xD I think Ask-SkyLark answered that one definitively enough.

Don’t get me wrong. There are legitimate problems with Volume 2. Some of the voice work was odd. The pacing was a bit questionable, but generally it was a good volume. Some people just let those annoyances boil up until it explodes.
