I rarely come across something I can read without getting distracted anymore - but this is one of them. I particularly like how the author captures the fervent piecing-together of a person’s character that happens when you mostly get to know them online. In Kirsten Roupenian’s own words:

“So much of dating involves this interplay of empathy and narcissism: you weave an entire narrative out of a tiny amount of information, and then, having created a compelling story about someone, you fall in love with what you’ve created.“
