Hey! So I'm just wondering how much vaginal itch is "normal" because I know obviously everyone's genitals get itchy, but I feel like mine is more than it should be. I am not nor have I ever been sexually active, so it can't be an STI. And I haven't noticed really any strangeness/changes in discharge so I'm at a bit of a loss. I've been sleeping w/o undies to try and air it out and trying to wipe softer to keep bits of TP out of it but it hasn't really changed. Any thoughts?
Ehhhh sometimes it just itches. But you can have a vaginal infection even without changes in your discharge - maybe what you think is normal discharge is actually yeasty discharge!
At home tests (to see if itch is related to bacterial/fungal imbalance):
Try taking 2 refrigerated probiotic supplement pills first thing in the morning and last thing at night
Use a blow dryer to dry out your vulva/vagina 1-2 times a day
Stay super hydrated
Put a peeled clove of garlic in your vagina overnight
Try over-the-counter Monistat (or generic) 7 day suppository or cream
Any improvement? If not, talk to a healthcare provider. You don’t need to be itchy and uncomfortable! There are a lot of things to check out, and it could be any number of them. Fingers crossed for you!
