replacing my old pinned post bc its super outdated so heres the stuff that actually matters

we have many fandoms and will post about what we please. if u follow u will be subjected to my Various Interests with wild abandon

it is always ok to make stuff inspired by our stuff :D all i ask is that if u DO make something inspired by us that u show it to us so i can reblog it ten billion times and be so so so excited about it

well, this officially makes tumblr unusable for me. ill leave my blogs up for archival purposes, but im out. i dont have other social media, and tbh i thought abt dropping my discord handle here so people coudl friend me if they wanted but i kinda already have a critical mass of people where i cant keep up with them all so theres no point in that. yall have fun with the hellsite finally breaking itself

I feel like this update had a good concept at one point that got lost and completely ruined along the way.

Like I would love it if I got notifications about additions I've made to posts, even when not re logged directly from me. To be able to see that someone replied to a comment I made or a joke I added is getting reblogged would be awesome.

That could actually lead to more community engagement, feeling more connected and like you're actually contributing even when you're not the OP.

But there is no reason why the original poster would need to stop getting notifications too, as though that post simply became /my/ post. That doesn't make any sense.

It feels like there should be some way to send notifications to everyone in the post chain instead of just sending them to the last person who commented on the post. It's like half of a good idea that they couldn't figure out how to do, so instead they're just copying Twitter when Noone wants Tumblr to be twitter.

The people who are still here are here because it's a social media platform that still feels /social/. It hasn't been taken over by the need to have a big following and be hyper relevant. It's about people coming together and sharing experiences, not running off into our little hidey holes with content we stole for the ten people who interact with us to see.

Posts breaking containment or getting far larger than expected is a key part of the Tumblr community and this absolutely ruins that.
