New design!

Typitap went through a complete overhaul!

Pretty much anything you’ve seen on the page has been redesigned from scratch.

I’ve updated the boostrap’s version from 3 to 4, and redesigned the page with attention to every little detail. 

Along the way, I have also built a little styleguide page, that should serve as a reference point for any future work that I’ll be doing for typitap.

Play with your favourite quotes!

As you may have noticed, there’s now a new option in the navigation bar that allows you to submit your own texts. You can add texts from your favourite books, songs, movies, and even your own lyrics and poems!

In order to submit your text, make sure to prepare just a few details that will speed up getting your texts approval:

1. Text should be between 160 and 240 characters long for optimal play time 2. What’s the language of your text? (if your language isn’t listed in the dropdown, drop me an e-mail and I’ll make sure to add it as soon as possible) 3. Where have you taken the text from? Is the text from a book, song or a movie? 4. If it’s a book, ideally please provide an ISBN number so we can display more information about your book to users. If you’re unsure about it, just please provide a title and we’ll take care of the rest.

All the texts then will be vetted to make sure they meet the criteria (in terms of difficulty level and appropriateness), and then added right into the game.

Once your text is accepted, you’ll get an e-mail notification when it’s ready to play. It’s also worth mentioning, that you’ll be credited for all the texts you’ve added to show appreciation for your work. 

Note, that we’re planning to prepare some extra perks for people contributing to our texts database, so make sure to keep an eye on our blog. :)

Anti-cheat updates are now live

Even the best game can be spoiled if played with people who can’t adhere to the game rules, right?

That’s why I’ve just rolled out a significant update that should keep most of the cheaters at bay. The most popular way to cheat on all sorts of typing games  is to access the text via the DOM and use it to automatically fill the text for you.

With the new update in place, this practice should now be no longer possible as we’ve found an alternative way to render the text.

Hopefully, now we’ll be able to focus on what’s the most important for us - to create the best experience and get fun!

Typitap has now an official blog!

Hi folks

Since the game is gaining some interest, I thought it might be a good time to start writing some notes about typitap, and its development.

Generally speaking, I’m planning to have a central place where I can post updates about new features in the game, and sometimes share behind-the-scenes details about the development for the more tech-savvy folks.

I hope you’ll enjoy the articles and we see on the race tracks!
