so the way that i took the original post, and maybe i was wrong, was that you were saying responses like "why should I care?" and "what is the point of sending this?" to headcanons and confessions were not what this blog is for. the way that you ended the post just (again, to me) makes it seem like you don't want those kinds of replies, like 'oh, it's not a post for you, so if you don't care, just move on, you don't have to comment that."
but you are directing these posts at people. when you tag a post with #character, you are directing it at anyone who is looking through that tag and sees it, you are saying, 'hey, i want you to see this, this is for you to like, comment, and reblog on,' and again, that tag is mostly going to be populated by people who like the character. most people aren't searching through a character tag to find hate about them. so, yes, you are going to get people in your notes on empty hate confessions going "why should i care?" as in 'why are you bothering to tell me, a character liker in the character tag, that you hate the character with no further context?'
if you think having two tags, #character and #character hate, would mess up the organization on your blog, then, okay. don't do that. in my opinion, it makes it easier to search for what you want, whether you are looking for takes with similar opinions to yours or different, but that's me. i was simply suggesting it as a way to avoid getting those responses on your posts, if that is what you were trying to do. another thing you could do is just have a general #hate post tag so that people could filter them out and not feel so inclined to leave those responses.
it might be annoying to see hate of a character/ship while you're looking for content of said character/ship but I suppose this is just something you have to deal with when navigating fandom spaces online?
i don't deal with this. when something is main-tagging hate that is just "i hate x" with no further discussion, i block them. if i'm in the main tag of something, i want to talk about and discuss it, or i want to see other people who like it. if i want straight-up hate, i'll look for a hate or anti- or discourse tag. why would i deal with someone shoving meaningless hate of my favorite character into my face? if they want to discuss why they don't like that character, cool. i'm all for that, i love talking about the character, that's why i'm in the tag
i guess i just don't get the point of your original post, since you state that all opinions are allowed and discussion of confessions is allowed, but the tone of your post makes it feel like there are some opinions that are not allowed, or that you don't want to see them. so are these responses an issue, or are they welcome?
