10:42 PM - Neon Pulse Karaoke
Alex threw his arm around Ren's shoulders, dragging him into the group and completely messing up his hair in the process.
Alex : "what's up guys? brought this little guy with me"
Ren fixed his hair, slightly caught off guard.
Ren : Wait," little guy"...?
Over on the leather couch, Toby threw up a quick wave.
Toby : yo! Alex! you made it man!
Meanwhile, on the tiny neon-lit stage, Raven was already going wild on the mic, screaming into the beat:
Raven : AND I DRIVE FAST TO FORGET YOUR NAMEEE!"
When Raven finally stepped off stage, her eyes locked right onto Ren, giving him a heavy once-over.
Raven : Wow... you're like a clone of—
Alex snapped, his tone cutting her off instantly.
A heavy, awkward tension settled over the room, killing the vibe in a split second. Toby quickly jumped in to clear the air.
Toby : Heh, chill guys! Ren, I'm Toby and this is Shelby. We're the power couple of the night!
Shelby let out a forced laugh, trying to smooth things over.
Shelby : Haha... typical Raven, right? Anyway, guys, calm down! We're here to have fun!
Noticing the distraction, Ren tried to make a low-key escape toward the door. Failed stealth attempt: 100%. Alex grabbed him by the jacket before he could even take three steps.
Alex : Nice try, Ren, but nope—you're staying right here!
A few hesitant notes later, the music completely took over.
Standing side-by-side on stage, mics in hand, the initial awkwardness started fading away.
Ren : Alright, alright, don't scream at me..." Ren laughed, finally letting go.
The night was already late when they stepped outside... and the rain had finally caught up.
It was pouring down, turning the streets into a blurred mirror of purple and red neon lights. Alex grabbed Ren’s hand, pulling him along the sidewalk. He glanced back, catching the soft expression on Ren's face.
Alex : Wait... is that a smile?
Ren : Shut up. Just keep walking, Ren muttered, unable to hide it.
The rest of the world just faded out behind them, but honestly?
[We didn't even know where we were going... and I didn't care]
