You just need a little warmth in your life, sadly, others don’t want you to enjoy such luxuries.
“Y/n. Stop that.” I mutter simply. I had come onto the balcony of the Fatui’s Inazuma Safehouse to think, yet here came Y/n, slithering his arms around my waist and burying his face in my hair.
“I’m sorry, but it’s just super cold right now.” Y/n mutters as he holds me close to him.
“I’ve already told you, if you’re cold, go drink some tea.” I retort in annoyance. I’d never expected my work relationship with another Harbinger to become like this. Especially not Y/n of all Harbingers, someone so cold and strategic, reduced to a whiney insect when he can’t soak up the heat my body absorbs in the day.
“Tea doesn’t work is what I told you in response.” Y/n mutters further into my hair, and I just sigh.
I had a serious problem on my hands, a problem that wasn’t even my doing for once. A while back, the ever-friendly Harbinger Duo of Y/n and Tartaglia just fell apart. One day, they were the best of buddies, going on every mission no matter the length or difficulty with each other, to the next day, where they literally refused to get along. The other Harbingers, like myself, assumed it was a brief disagreement to be resolved in time. Instead, it’s 6 months later, and they hate one another and are essentially forcing me to be in the middle of it all. Trying to outdo the other and show off how much attention they can get, which I will admit I entertain sometimes, when it's beneficial to our work.
“You’re so-” I cut myself off and sigh. Everything regarding their departure from friendship was sensitive to discuss. They refused to elaborate on the cause of the problem, and if they did work together, it’s with little discussion or collaboration, just completing individual objectives that play into their strong suits. Before this ordeal, I thought Y/n was a mature individual worthy of my respect, but now he’s acting like some pathetic human being, behaving so fickle. I expected this childishness of the Childe, though.
Y/n just nuzzles his head into my hair gently. He wasn’t someone I expected to be clingy either. Though given what I know of him now, that we are somewhat closer, it all makes sense.
For the rest of the night, I stand there with Y/n gently resting with me in his arms, using me as his heat source for the night, rather than the warm interior of the safehouse.
It was times like this that made me ponder my preference for Y/n’s attention ever since the fallout of his friendship with Tartaglia.
It took only a handful of days for me to regret questioning why I preferred having Y/n around.
I groaned as I looked at the piece of paper the agent just handed me.
“Why didn’t you idiots tell me sooner. You do understand how difficult keeping our work handled will be with him coming here?” I spit at the agent, who looks rather afraid, pathetic.
“Uhm… Lord Harbinger-” The agent speaks up, but I cut him off.
“Who gave you the right to speak?” I say, glaring at him and standing from my seat.
“I’m going to the docks.” I say in annoyance as I leave the safehouse.
“Ah. Comrade, how nice of you to meet me upon my arrival. Did you miss me that much?” Tartaglia’s cheerful voice interrupts the soft song of the waves lapping against the shore.
“What are you doing here? Signora and I have the mission in Inazuma under control. You’re supposed to be in Liyue.” I say to him, glaring daggers. Having one extra Harbinger in Inazuma was already an inconvenience, two of them would surely give me a migraine and ruin the Tsaritsa’s plans.
“Geez. You sound like Y/n. If you must know, I've finished up my work and collected the Gnosis, now I’m checking in on you to ensure you’re okay.” Tartaglia says as he approaches me on the dock, and I back up.
“I’m perfectly fine, I’m not as fragile as you pathetic humans.” I glare at the taller male, and he just scoffs and rolls his eyes.
“I feel hurt by that, are you saying you like Y/n better? I thought we were close.” Tartaglia begins, and I groan inwardly, already knowing where this is going to go.
“I’m not picking a side. I just commented on my state of being, and speaking of which, now that you know, will you go deliver the Gnosis to the Tsaritsa as you’re supposed to?” I ask begrudgingly, and he sags his shoulders and lets out a groan.
“Come on. We haven’t seen one another in weeks, and you refuse to let me spend but one night in your company?” Tartaglia says, giving me this saddened look, and a part of me feels bad, but the rest of me wants to hit him.
“You imbecile. You clearly have no regard for our collective goal, you know the consequences of disobedience and failures.” I say, continuing to glare at the aloof ginger.
“So you don’t want me here. Bet if I were Y/n, you’d let me stay without any questions asked.” Tartaglia counters as he steps closer to me and leans down to my height, mocking me silently. I restrain myself from smacking his face.
“Stop trying to guilt trip me, you’d get into serious trouble with the others if you disobey your orders, and ruin the Tsaritsa’s plans.” I inform him, and he stands there for a moment, thinking, no doubt.
“So you care for me? Awww. Scara.” Tartaglia begins, and I feel my eye twitch, which is especially weird as I don’t have muscles to spasm… safe to say these two are making me inferior by the day.
“I hope the Tsaritsa imprisons you for not returning the Gnosis to her immediately.” I sneer at the ginger as I turn and walk away, but I hear heavy boot steps chase after me.
“Don’t worry, comrade, I’ll explain it all to her clearly, don’t worry yourself,” Tartaglia says as he walks alongside me back to the Fatui Safehouse.
“I didn’t realise a snake was staying here, you could’ve warned me, comrade. I would’ve come sooner to protect you.” Tartaglia says with a smirk as we enter the safehouse’s courtyard, and the gingerbread soldier spots Y/n.
“He doesn’t need protection from the likes of you.” Y/n says with a glare as he hops out of the tree he was lounging in, likely soaking up the warmth of the sun.
“Oh, you can never be too safe with pests about.” Tartaglia hums.
Y/n just stands there glaring at Tartagli,a and I just groan at their behaviour.
“Well. Last I checked, your orders were to retrieve a Gnosis, so are you grovelling to Scaramouche for help? Is it too hard for you to do diplomacy?” Y/n says with a smirk, and Tartaglia shifts. He clicks his tongue once more.
“I’ve already completed my task. Unlike you, I can execute a mission by myself, and I don’t tag along to just steal credit” Tartaglia responds in turn, and I roll my eyes at this childish display. I thought Harbingers were meant to be diplomatic and powerful people, not whatever this is.
“You’re both poor excuses for Harbingers. One barely does work, and the other creates messes for others to clean up.” I interject, though my words don’t seem to stick with them.
“I’ve never once attempted to take credit for work I didn’t do. I’m here on personal business.” Y/n says with a smile as his gaze shifts from Tartaglia to me.
“Speaking of which, Scaramouche, you ready for the morning?” Y/n says at me, with a strange tone.
“Yes, we can do it in the morning, after I handle something at the factory.” I say to him but in the corner of my eye I see Tartaglia’s jaw tighten out the corner of my eye.
“What sort of personal business?”
“Wouldn’t you like to know. Sadly, that’s between Scaramouche and myself.” Y/n continues with a smirk, his hands crossing over his chest and his eyes monitoring Tartaglia carefully. I look between the two of them and just let out a sigh of frustration at their childish antics before leaving them for my quarters in the safehouse.
After a little while, Tartaglia walks into my quarters and lets out a groan once he shuts the door.
“I hate that fucking snake so much.” He cursed, coming over to where I was sitting, reading some ledgers and taking note of the factory’s outputs over the past few weeks.
“Comrade, I don't understand why you put up with him. He’s fucking insufferable.” Tartaglia continues as he throws his jacket onto my bed, which I don’t use, and he sits beside me.
“You didn’t say that about him before, so what changed? And you’re just as, if not more, annoying to deal with.” I say to him,
Tartaglia plops his head onto my shoulder and lets out a sigh.
“Well, he just became so different, and not in a good way. Also, I find myself splendid to be around.”
“Yeah, sure you are… besides, I don’t get what you mean, he’s still the same level of insufferable as he always was.”
“He wasn’t- ugh. You won’t get it, you’re biased to him anyways." Tartaglia mutters in a pouty voice, and I internally sigh at his antics. Tartaglia had a way of being particularly moody whenever Y/n came up in discussion, even though he was always the one bringing Y/n up.
“Well then, don’t complain to me about him changing if you won’t explain further.” I say, glaring at him in the corner of my eye, and just sigh after a while.
As the night goes on, I finish my work, and annoyingly, Tartaglia fell asleep on my shoulder some time ago. I’d hoped he would’ve awoken by now, but he hasn’t. Then I hear the door for my room open and the slow shuffling of feet, I glance over the shoulder, unoccupied by ginger hair and can barely see Y/n.
“What’s he doing in here.” Y/n spitefully says in a tired voice, but it’s clear he’s just as annoyed as he is tired.
“Don’t start.” I say to him simply, and he goes silent for a moment before walking closer and standing where I can see him.
“I’m cold again.” Y/n says softly. I groan.
“What’s that got to do with me?” I say, narrowing my gaze on him, and he just stands there with a smile.
“Just move him, it’s not like you care about him that much. If it were me, you would’ve just left without warning.” Y/n insists as he looks at Tartaglia with a groggy hatred on his face.
“Look, if you’re just going to stand there and complain, you can leave.” I say while glaring at him, and he stands there silently for a little longer. Y/n then drags over a chair and wraps his arms around my waist, and presses as much of his body as he can, against me like this.
“Neither of you ever considers what I want...” I huff in annoyance at the two of them. If they were still friends, I wouldn’t be going through this.
“Well, I consider what you want the majority of the time, like when I went out and scared the Traveller for you” Y/n says in turn, and I just roll my eyes.
“That barely counts…” I mumble softly.
‘I’m so over this bullshit.’ I whisper under my breath whilst walking along the shore with Y/n. The morning started off horribly, having to fight the two rejects off my body, to then go and handle something at the delusion factory. I couldn’t even finish my business with the Traveller, that damn kitsune interrupted me.
Then, after that frustrating start to my day, I return to the estate and find Y/n and Tartaglia in the courtyard.
“Comrade. Tell me what it is you’re planning.”
“I’m not telling you that, we’re not even friends, Ajax”
“You’re always so fucking difficult, you know that?”
“There it is, ‘cause you can’t seem to know when to calm the fuck down, always seeking a fight.”
“You’re one to talk, you start fights over the smallest things.”
“They may have been small to you, but did you ever adjust your scale for me?”
They both fall silent, and I choose this moment to make my presence known as I doubt they’re going to continue regardless of my appearing.
“What is up with you two?” I ask as I enter the courtyard, Y/n moves to approach me, but Tartaglia stops him, but doesn’t look at Y/n. Instead, he’s staring at the ground. Y/n’s tongue clicks, accompanied by an eye roll, and he shoves past Tartaglia, who doesn’t even move.
“Hey, you ready to go to Yashiori with me?” Y/n asks me in a contrastingly sweet tone as he looks at me.
“I’m coming with.” Tartaglia chimes in from where he stood in the shade of the courtyard’s great tree. Y/n doesn’t respond, and I refuse to give an input as it’d most likely toss me into their stupid conflict.
The journey to Yashiori isn’t difficult, and the ‘threats’ are made quick work by Y/n and myself. Tartaglia, despite all his boasting of being the supreme fighter, doesn’t contribute to the actual handling of these pathetic worms. We make our way across the island to the great skull of a lost god and the little village nearby.
“So what’d you wanna do here?” I ask whilst turning to Y/n, who chuckles a little.
“I wanted to see if I could learn anything…” Y/n begins as he enters the town. Tartaglia and I followed behind, keeping a small distance.
“Yeah ‘cause this rotting town is useful, kinda like the god whose remains surround it.” Tartaglia chimes in as he walks in line with me. Y/n doesn’t listen to the ginger’s heckling and continues to explore, eventually stopping at a house and observing it at a distance for a moment.
“What’s so special about this place?” Tartaglia asks me discreetly, to which I shrug.
“I don’t know, ask him.” I retort. Tartaglia grimaces, looking somewhat annoyed at the idea of discussing something with Y/n.
“This village worshipped the very god whose skull lies nearby. I came here for answers.” Y/n finally chimes in, and Tartaglia rolls his eyes and scoffs.
“What’s there to learn from a weak deity?” Tartaglia grumbled beside me.
“That deity isn’t weak. If you’re unentertained, how about you do your job and return the Gnosis?” Y/n calls back, and Tartaglia clenches his jaw in annoyance. I already feel the onset of a migraine, and there is no telling how much longer we’d be here.
“I wasn’t speaking to you.” Tartaglia snaps back, and Y/n stands before a house, staring daggers through Childe for a moment before laughing a little.
“You’re still so childish, I would’ve assumed you would’ve grown in the past 6 months.” Y/n grins slyly, and Tartaglia stares back at him completely unimpressed.
“Hey, could you two stop this. I want to get this over with so I can ship both of you back to Shneznya.” I cross my arms over my chest and look between the two.
The three of us continued to roam around the town for a portion of the morning. Y/n goes into a couple of houses looking for books and other texts on the people and their deity. Soon enough, in the interest of time, I, as well as, surprisingly, Tartaglia, are helping him search through the rotting board structures.
“I’ve had enough mindlessly searching through this place,” Tartaglia says from the middle of the town, and I walk over to him and roll my eyes.
“Stop complaining and fetch like a good dog,” I say to him, and he just groans in frustration.
“No, I won’t. I don’t even know what we’re looking for. At this rate, I’m convinced Y/n’s just wasting our time. It's something he loves to do anyway.” Tartaglia trails off with furrowing brows. Before I can ask him to expand on what he means, Y/n approaches.
“You don’t know when to stop, do you?” Tartaglia asks with a glare as he straightens out his back and makes eye contact with Y/n. I mentally face-palmed. I knew it was too long without them arguing or at each other’s throats. “All you ever do is make people work for you, and promise them rewards or explanations, but you never actually fulfil them. You’re a fucking parasite.” Tartaglia continues, and I sink into the ground, wishing to escape this conversation.
“You feel better jabbing at my character? Make you feel less inferior than you are?” Y/n hums in a mockingly compassionate tone, and I swear I hear Tartaglia growl.
“The only inferior one is you. I have standards. I have respect. I’m a good person, I care about others’ feelings and don’t just treat the world as my prey to be toyed with. If only the doctor fixed your brain when we found you and not your heart.” Tartaglia venomously bites back, and Y/n goes silent. Y/n stares at Tartaglia for a moment, and then a smirk crawls onto his face, but it's not playful or teasing. With one glance, I can tell he’s about to take things too far.
“Well. At least I’m not a waste of time to get to know. You’re just a one-dimensional person. You fight, and that’s all you’re good for, and all you’ll ever be to me or anyone else.” Y/n says coldly, his words stinging Tartaglia visible who slightly recoils away from him.
“Okay. Whilst this is entertaining, somewhat. Can you two settle this small dispute? It’s been 6 months, and whilst the other Harbingers are giving you guys time to sort it out, I’m tired of being stuck dealing with it.” I already know that upon leaving here, when they get me alone, they’re going to try and complain about what the other said.
“You’re the worst person I’ve ever met. Genuinely.” Tartaglia just blurts out with a small smile on his face. None of his token joyful tone that permeates even under pressure. His voice was just devoid of anything I recognised as Tartaglia, the great warrior, seemed almost pained in his words.
“What the fuck did I just say?” I curse, and Tartaglia smiles at me.
“I’m sorry, comrade, but I’m not going to sit here and lie about what I think of him.” Tartaglia mutters with a gentle smile at me, his eyes warming a little when my gaze meets them.
“I still don’t understand. You two were such good friends. What nonsensical thing could’ve caused all of this arguing like preschoolers?” I ask both of them. Y/n remains still, taking a deep breath.
“You’re right. It was nonsense. But I can’t forgive him for causing it.” Y/n turns to leave but is stopped once more by Tartaglia.
“Nonsense? I’m upset over nonsense?” Childe asks his grip firm on Y/n’s arm.
“Yeah. Had you given me the chance, I could’ve explained myself.” Y/n retorts, shoving Childe’s hand away with an audible smack.
“Maybe I didn’t want to hear you justify cheating on me.” Tartaglia speaks up after a moment of standing there completely silently. In the meantime, everything around me freezes as I replay the ginger’s words in my head. They had dated?
“I never cheated, and you know that.” Y/n speaks up louder than before, clearly getting emotional over Tartaglia’s accusation.
“Never cheated. I saw them. The notes in your journals about the new guy you’d found yourself staring at. All the things you liked about him, from his hair to his attitude, how you could relate to him more than me?” Tartglia continues with growing anger in his voice as the boom of his voice begins to echo in the abandoned town.
“You read my journal after I told you not to.”
“You were distant. I was worried, you don’t have the best record of mental health.”
“That has nothing to do with it. You betrayed our trust.”
“I betrayed trust? Yeah, I’m the big bad guy when you were off falling in love with somebody else?”
“I wasn’t falling in love with somebody else.”
“Then what were those journal entries?”
“That…” Y/n begins but visibly chokes on his own saliva and forming tears.
“Y’all were dating?” I finally found the breath to ask after spending the past few minutes silently observing them.
“Ever since he became a Harbinger, we kept it under wraps to prevent workplace drama, or anyone saying we couldn’t work together. Or most importantly, so nobody could use our relationship against us.” Tartaglia fills me in with a warm smile. It still was jarring for me how they’d look over at me with so much warmth, yet at each other with frigid coldness.
“That’s at least-” I begin, but I’m cut off by Y/n, whose sheepish gaze catches mine. Y/n looked uncomfortable, his cool and calm facade crumbling in the heat, under the pressure.
“4 years.” Y/n says softly with a small smile. “I never meant for what happened to happen. But I never cheated.” Y/n finished with this pained smile, looking more so embarrassed that all of this was coming to light.
“Did you ever fucking love me, Y/n? You just discarded our relationship so easily, then you shamelessly flaunted it in your journals under my nose.” Tartaglia begins once more with a calm rage that dances with a pained hurt.
“I never cheated on you. You blew up at me over something that could have been nothing.” Y/n shouts back.
“Cheating isn’t nothing. The fact that you know what you did was wrong is what makes this more hilarious, honestly. Yet here you are insisting on your innocence.” Tartaglia continues with a scoff.
“Stop fucking lying about me, Ajax. I did no such thing to you at ANY point in our relationship.” Y/n says as he approaches the ginger with a deadly calm about him, despite the abrasiveness of his words.
“What lies Y/n? You admitted to it.” Tartaglia watches Y/n closely, responding with a grit in his voice from holding back shouts of rage, no doubt.
“Are you gonna keep talking about me like I’m some fucking cheater? I never fell out of love with you. Okay?” Y/n stands before Tartaglia with a glare and jaw clenched. Y/n’s hands squeeze themselves, and his chest heaves with some underlying fury.
“I tried explaining, but you never listen to me. Always so fucking focused on fighting and being angry, you never tried to understand why I felt how I felt, you never even spared your boyfriend any fucking patience. You know how much I gave to a worthless piece of shit like you, only for you to dump me without fighting or a single question…” Y/n mutters coldly, making eye contact with Tartaglia, and the increasing tension in the air honestly is worsening the day for me.
Tartaglia slackens his jaw, and he lets out a breath.
“And then after we broke up, we agreed to leave each other alone. Instead, you start causing problems, trying to fuck over my life, ruin my joy, my peace.” Y/n continues, his voice growing softer.
“I wasn’t going to stand by and watch you swoon Scara, just to go and cheat on him too.”
“I think I deserve a say in all of this.” I chime in and clear my throat. They both turn in my direction, nearly bumping into one another due to their proximity.
“Scara, don’t worry about it, I’m sure this cheater knows his place now.” Tartaglia insists with a warmer tone and smiles at me.
“I was still in love with you, Ajax. I am still in love with you. Even though you have said so many hurtful things to my face and seven knows what behind my back. I was just going through something I didn’t know how to tell you.” Y/n finally speaks up once more, confidence growing in his voice again.
“I didn’t know how to handle feeling so much for you and then having a crush on someone else. I never told you ‘cause I knew you’d get mad. So I buried my feelings in my journals and kept loving you ‘cause both were true. I was falling for someone else, but I loved you, and I loved the idea of having you and them.” Y/n continues, and Tartaglia’s rough gaze softens somewhat.
“Whatever, you moved on from them fast, too, didn’t you.” Tartaglia says with a scoff and roll of his eyes, even as he seems to be more hesitant.
“I never did. When you broke up with me, I was devastated… but I had them for support.” Y/n mutters sheepishly whilst glancing in my direction. Tartaglia's gaze follows Y/n’s, and a silence falls upon the three of us once more.
“You… you’ve liked me for so long?” I ask with genuine surprise, I’d caught onto it more recently, but for it to have existed for so long?
“Yeah… I never really wanted to admit it, ‘cause I never got over Ajax. I also didn’t want to make you into a rebound.” Y/n says honestly, and I nod my head silently in understanding.
“Though I must say, I understand that I fell for Scara and you, and that’s why I like Scara so much… What’s your excuse, or are you the real bad person?” Y/n says as he turns to Tartaglia, whose face no longer holds anger instead, he’s surprised.
“What? No. I’d never cheat on you. I…” Tartaglia begins but goes silent. Childe takes a deep breath.
“I’ve liked Scara since I became a Harbinger. I was more discreet in the past as I never assumed I would have a chance with him, and then, eventually, when you joined, I fell for you… So I figured if I couldn’t have Scara, at least I could have Y/n. Once we broke up, those feelings for Scara resurfaced when I saw you getting close to him… I felt more jealous that you were going to be with him, but I was also upset that you were moving on.” Tartaglia says softly. He looks away from either of us, clearly embarrassed over it all.
“Well, I knew you liked me. That’s not surprising.” I mutter aloud, and I see the blush creep up Childe’s face.
“Wait, so both of you liked me… and each other… Gods, you both even felt the same…” I continue in slight disbelief, more so that Y/n liked me.
“I still like both of you. Though Scara, I understand if you don’t feel the same way about me after today…” Y/n says with some of his calm confidence returning.
“I- I like both of you a lot…” Tartaglia sheepishly admits.
The three men stood in silence for another moment, just processing emotions and what had been said.
“Y/n… I’m sorry I read your journal and that you didn’t feel comfortable being vulnerable with me when you were so conflicted with your emotions…” Tartaglia speaks up, breaking the silence between them all. “And I’m sorry about blowing up at you and proving your worst fears true… If only I had listened then… maybe we’d be somewhere different now… but I guess my emotions got me lost along the way…” He finishes, and Y/n nods.
“I don’t know if I can forgive you for everything you’ve said about me… and I don’t know if you can forgive me for what I said about you… I could have trusted you more. I made my decision based on poor experiences with exes in the past, I didn’t give you a chance to know or react or discuss it with me.” Y/n softly responds before turning to me. “Scara, I’m sorry we dragged you into this mess. We can’t help our feelings, but we could’ve handled it all better. I’m sorry we started using you to get back at each other.”
“It’s fine, I suppose. I entertained it in the first place, and had I known why you both were doing it, I never would have done so in the first place.” I say, crossing my arms over my chest and looking at them both.
“Y/n, can we give it another try?” Trataglia asks with a soft smile towards Y/n.
“Ajax. We can’t forget the fallout of our relationship was painful, and the trust in it was broken.” Y/n says with a soft sorrow in his voice.
“Yeah… I get that… can we be friends… at least?” Tartaglia interjects quickly, scratching his head shyly.
“You’re being impatient again. You’re not letting me finish.” Y/n says with a soft laugh, and Childe’s head tilts a little in confusion.
“We can start a fresh relationship, and work on these things… work to be better for each other… and hopefully be better for…” Y/n trails off and turns towards me.
“Me?” I ask with a soft scoff, ignoring the way my nonexistent stomach fluttered with flies… or whatever it is humans say.
“Ajax and I don’t work well just by ourselves. He got with me, yes ‘cause he likes me, but ‘cause he never thought getting with you was possible. I liked him and then developed feelings for you as well. So if we’re going to start new, I think you should be a part of that”
“Oh, that’s where you’re going with this. Yeah, Scara, it wouldn’t be right if you weren’t a part of it this time around.” Tartaglia chimes in, looking from Y/n to me, with this light in his eyes. Something he’d been without for so long, that I never noticed how incomplete he was until this moment.
“You two gave me headaches for months.”
“We’re sorry.” Y/n chimes in, jabbing his elbow into Tartaglia’s side gently.
“Fine.” I groan as I look away from them.
“YES!” Tartaglia eagerly shouts while Y/n just sighs in relief.
“Don’t be so happy” I retorted, feeling sort of embarrassed.
“Good… uhm, can we go find some shade now? I’m actively overheating,” Y/n says, looking rather shockingly weak all of a sudden.
“Why didn’t you say something sooner?” Tartaglia questions as he grabs onto Y/n’s side, looking rather concerned.
“I wanted to finally talk things over first.”
“God. Don’t do that, dummy. I’m supposed to be the ‘always endangering himself’ one.”
The three of us lounge in the shade of the giant skull that sits nearby. Y/n was leaning up against Tartaglia’s chest between the male's legs as they sat on the ground. Tartaglia leaned against the bone. I am sitting leaning against their sides, although the damn snake had his arms around my waist as he cooled off. His scaly fingers are playing with my stomach. Tartaglia’s fingers were combing through my hair, and while it isn’t doing much the gesture is… tolerated.
“We came in here to cool off,” I say as I swat at his touch. Tartaglia chuckles from Y/n’s side.
“You’re so cat-like.” Childe mumbles with a warm laugh.
“Well, you’re a dumb retriever.”
“What am I like?” Y/n asks with a soft smile at both of us.
“What sort of stupid question. Did you melt your brain?”
“Is it ‘cause I’m a revived snake god?”
