Big fan of your bikes! I see you are going a bit back and forth between doublebarrel chainstays on your bikes. Whats your take on chosing what? Is it noodly without and "heavy" with them?
The double barrel stays was an experiment using 4 pultruded HM strips and 2 round tubes. The idea was to produce low-volume and stiff part, while maintaining durability. While incredibly stiff, (pultruded HM produces the worlds stiffest composite parts), they were costly and time consuming to build. The 20mm stays on my current frames are just as stiff and lighter too.

I don't have plans, as I threw it together in a hurry, but here's how I built it: 1) cut cardboard box to dimensions and cut door opening off. 2) drape, bag and infuse. 3) cut out latch, wheel and handle openings4) rivet in piano hinge, and epoxy bond tongue and groove valance 5) rivet in latches, wheel and handlesMaterials:1) Infused with Epon 828/Teta thinned 1:10 MEK. 100% pull in about 5min, hard in 20min. 2) 820gsm 45° biaxile t-700. Pick up 100yds for $100 at a Boeing auction. 3) Road box hardware sourced at local music/sound store.
The box. I'm surprised by the interest. The airline wanted $250 extra each way, to transport a full size box. So I make a bike box with the absolute minimum dimensions needed to fit my bike. It worked too, I checked it in as standard luggage. Made from #carbonfiber, #Kevlar on a cardboard core and some aluminum military surplus/road box hardware. 9 lbs and about $100 in materials. Took about 4 hours to construct, and yeah I finished it the night before takeoff.
