No gravity-defying device existed that could turn up the corners of Ororo's grimace. "Get up and get YOU..." The little dive bar they took respite in on the edge of the camos was suddenly shaken by a deafening rumble.
"It's more likely I mess with the pressure in your ears and throw off your equilibrium." And still, while he was floundering around, she couldn't picture him silent, and the image triggered a migraine. "Ugh..." Pinching between her brows with one hand, she waved down a server with the other. "At least be useful and tell me if we are on the track of your bounty and the missing child?"
"Yes, I'm sure." The eyeroll was as gentle as could be, not truly annoyed with Logan's egarness, more edeared by it but unable to help teasing him at least a little. "Cecilia is expecting us at three."
"Same as the last check-up." A quiet laugh escaping, she took some care smoothing out her dress, though there was hardly a bump to notice, and the dress was flowy on grounds no one could be too guarded about any secret. "How certain are we that everyone still thinks we only volunteer at her clinic?"

If we didn't already know this woman isn't afraid to fight for anything she holds dear, would rather go out on her own terms than suffer under the heel of another, and her mind is always working to outwork her opponent. 10000/10

From the latest solo run, and when I say it, EATS! This is the weather goddess summing herself up perfectly. One of many things I really like about Ayodele's writting is that he's great at building on moments and lines of the past, and this is similar to stuff people have said about her and things Ororo has said about herself before with that cherry that takes it to the next level. Rose can die happy after this /10

The burden she'll carry forever, and a moment she got it wrong. Repression isn't harmony, and there's something to admitting the longing for a freer existence to the friend (lover, we all know it, Marvel is just chicken shit) who's going to help her toward true balance. Sooo gay/10

T'Challa brings out Ororo's girlish and silly side so easily. Maybe because they were first and young loves, or subconsciously, she feels like he needs that from her more, the comfort of history? Whatever it is, it's ridiculously precious to me/10

Long as I could gush about kuroro, I adore this line more for what it says about Ro than even her connection to Kurt. Cause she would fix herself to bang on the gates of heaven or hell forever if that's what it took, that's how hard she loves. There are lines with Logan, T'Challa, Kitty, and a few others that hit this same chord. Bless the goddess, she got her elf back after this/10.
8- “I tell myself I am over the loss of my powers. That I have adjusted..learned to cope... What I want to do more than anything is to spread my arms and cast my spirit to the winds."
To have the amazing life after death arc, have Ororo rediscover herself without her powers, rebuild her life and meaningful place with the X-Men, onlt to then having her... You know what, I'm still not over it. It's that much a part of her. RIP my heart, but give me that good food always/10

Found my way to Ororo through the 90s cartoon, fell in hopeless love from the comics, and in both she has dramatic in the best way lines while wielding the elements. It's a staple I couldn't live without. Was much happy to hear X-97 continuing the tradition. Baby Rose lives on through this/10

"And every parent has a right to lecture or advise how they see fit. I'm exercising that same now by saying you're young enough to give yourself some dramatic grace."
Ororo believed that anytime Kendall was overthinking was the side of her mother slipping out and wanting to give her child more freedom for mistakes than the weather witch had given herself at that age, she tried to be encouraging.

The sneer was not entirely for him, though she's offended that anyone, Thor of all people, could believe her absentminded, and on today of all days, it's the guard that approached the door as she crossed the threshold that prompted her features to contort so sharply, and whom they fix on.
"Forgotten how intrusive the searches at the facility can be," she drawled in a manner intended to leech all the warmth. Azure eyes with their glaring disgust, warning against another step in her direction. "And as I told the warden, I'm done with paperwork, patdowns, and wands until I speak with my husband."
The room could see him weigh out whatever kick the young man might have gained from being one more annoying pebble in her shoes, versus the possible shitstorm. A moment taken before the step back to his chair, and enough time for Thor's words to fully register when turning her face to the awaiting inmate.
"As for my lateness today…"
It's not as if men like him were never afiard, but they hardly allowed acknowledgment and rarer still to give the emotion voice, even in jest. The wind of her anger dissipated, crossing the room, thinking on it, taking in the ghastly bright orange jumpsuit and the two other guards flanking him at the table.
"There were… hurdles." A quiet sigh was let out while taking the seat across from him. "The way this all went down, well, you can imagine many wanted verification of our private nuptials before agreeing I could come see you without a wall of plexiglass. To say nothing of family demands, mine and yours..."
They had their reasons, and at least one had been protecting their respected organization by protecting the other. Whatever they had yet to sort out about them, no matter how much the palm that opened on top of the table had ached for the curl of his weathered fingers around it, calculations had been made. There was a plan to bring both sides to the same results, but right now, the priority was checking in on him.

Good starting point for this series, though I'm disappointed to see it's a mini-series and only five issues at that. Same as Earth's Mightiest Mutant. I think a mini-series should be at least six issues to have a full arc and let stuff breathe. I hear this is becoming the new normal at Marvel, with very few to no ongoing solos. I need to look into what other series besides Bishop's and Storm's are getting this treatment.
