“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” Yet while created equal, we live in a country where not everyone is treated equal. Where those with power, abuse it, and those without it, are left defenseless with only one head to look over both shoulders. So tell me why is it that we spend millions of dollars on advancement in technology, yet not a single moment in advancing ourselves as humans. Why is it that we train our dogs how to do tricks, yet not our officers how to handle situations more humane, after all, we’re all human. I would never doubt the amount of stress the job of a police officer bares, but if we put as much time, money, and effort into our Police Academy Programs, as we do our Software Programs, just maybe it might save a few extra lives.
