also darkspawn can sense them anyway, so they don’t really care about camouflage

❛❛ you look peaceful. ❜❜ victor's approach is quiet , hands folded behind his back. he follows ren's gaze upwards to the sky , at the way the stars still manage to shine despite everything. it makes his heart clench. ❛❛ you stargazin' ? that's honestly impressive. ❜❜ sitting beside the other , he tries to focus on the stars too , but finds his gaze too much wandering———checking on the others in camp , the outer perimeter of camp , the red glow of blight on the horizon . . . there's brightness just above him , but its too far away for him to realize. sighing , he flops back into the grass , hands folded over his front. ❛❛ how can you focus on it , with everything else ? the blight in your peripheral vision , twigs snappin' around us . . . not exactly prime stargazing time. i feel like if i look too long , we'll get snuck up on. ❜❜

framed from billowing smoke and the gentle glow of the swarm of darkspawn in the distance is a common sight to the veteran grey warden. so much so that he is aware of the impending doom, as it were, at their border. he can see it on the other's faces. how uncomfortable it must feel; akin to a ghost whispering at the nape of your neck. for ren, though, it's an accompanying sensation all too familiar. and to rob the stars of your attention seemed offensive, no?

he only glimpses the other, smiling. when his gaze returns upward. " unless led by a hurlock, i doubt we'll be ambushed tonight. " though one can never be too certain. ren has honed the ability to sense how far or near the abominations are. for a moment, to assuage victor's obvious trembling, ren looks around them, making a noise akin to dimissmal.

" nah, they're not near us. as much as i like to look up at the stars, i am also keeping watch. " a jab. ren chuckles, in turn laying down beside him. sword and shield within reach. just in case. " why aren't you with the others? "

given his long experience in the wardens, i'm surprised he isn't a higher rank. i think he sits comfortably as a senior warden .. gives him the ability of freedom.

there were a couple of times.. if someone wished it.. ren would sing a farewell in elvhen. it's deep and melancholic, basically a farewell and sending off the deceased's soul to rest.

the idea of standing in between a man’s legs who’s just been in a fight and is all bruised and battered while tending to his wounds …. all while his hand (a hand that is usually rough and malicious) is gently placed on the back of your thigh, just below your ass …. he’s looking at you as if you’ve hung the moon in the sky ……….. it gets me going
