Could you maybe reblog this post if you think respecting trans peoples' names and identities is a basic right and not a political opinion?
No pressure. Just seeking some validation of my sentiment. Due to some. people
maybe i was made for loving things. maybe that's what life is all about.
“I always wondered what it would be like to have a brother or sister.”
What do you think you're trying to understand about your story?
Dimension 20: Neverafter — Episode 9, “Origins”
#the allegory to Black boyhood Lou brought to this character is simply unmatched by any other adaptation of pinocchio. it's That Good.
What do you mean “chat” is now referring to ChatGPT and not twitch chat? What? What? What the fuck? No?
When I address chat I am speaking to a presumed Greek chorus of real human people shitposting on their lunch break, not a machine that devours lakes to covert electricity into slop.
put some ffxiv community history on my island
wait what the fuck do you MEAN this was 2022
thanks man
“What if poor people abuse the system?”
The system intrinsically abuses poor people.
Hope this helps.
"What if poor people abuse the system?"
Rich people abuse the system far more and out of pure greed, not necessity or desperation so idrc about that
If a system needs to be abused for poor people to get the help they need, I don't think poor people are the problem.

Hi everyone, Thank you for taking the time to read this. On Tuesday, March 31,… Jorge V needs your support for Help Bring My Father Home
Not just "fuck ICE" but also "love immigrants"
ICE is a domestic terrorist group that promotes behaviors similar to literal slave catchers and nazis that needs to be stopped yesterday.
and
Immigrants are human beings who deserve no more or less love than anyone else on the planet.
And for every single "Fuck ICE" in your life you need like 10 "love Immigrants". Because if you're only doing "Fuck ICE" then they'll just rebrand the hate until they find a vocabulary you find acceptable.
"Love Immigrants" is a rejection of the premise not just the delivery method.
I think a big part of the reason Pokopia is hitting so hard for so many people is that we have had an absolute glut of post apocalyptic media that take the "humans are the monsters/disease/problem" angle. Even the most well meaning solar-punk I can think of often have this undercurrent of 'humanity's nature is inherently short sighted and exploitive and they must constantly be kept in check to protect the environment' which slides very quickly into 'the world would be better off without humans in it to complicate and threaten things'.
But Pokopia fully does not do that. The world is lonely without humans and lesser for humanity's absence. So much of the game is about how Pokemon miss humans and are struggling to make sense of a world without us, how the ecosystem is just as hurt by our absence as any other species, and how the things we left behind, even in ruins and burned shells, are often beautiful and strange and helpful to the Pokemon who find them.
Pokemon have always been this allegory for the natural world- back to the original idea of the games inspired by children who caught bugs and kept ant farms- and thus the relationship between Pokemon and humans becomes this allegory for the relationship between nature and humans. And Pokopia looks you dead in the eye and says "the world would be poorer without humans, and if we all vanished tomorrow the echoes of who we are and the things we did would still ring out for eons uncountable. We would be missed and mourned and searched for and the wound of our absence would be deeply felt on this earth for the rest of its turning. The actions of a few greedy short sighted humans will never change that."
And that. That hits.
holy shit can we be thankful that there are only like, 2 types of phone chargers nowadays? if youre phone died in 2007 you were fuck outta luck
this shit had to be a fuckin fire hazard or something i swear to goddd
they beat jesus with that
happy good friday
being a humanities major who’s friends with stem majors is so funny because you’ll ask your friends what they’re doing today and they’re like “UGH it’s so stressful i have to stabilize the reactor core for my nuclear power midterm and then i have to build the supercomputer from i have no mouth yet i must scream for my electrical engineering homework :/ what about you” and you’re like “oh well i have to read a fun little book and write an essay about gender.” and they still think you have it worse
Being a stem major who's friends with humanities majors is ALSO funny bc you ask what's goin on with them and they're like "oh yeah my day's pretty good! I only have to read 50 pages for this one class today and half a book for another one. It's much better than last week where I read three books and wrote a 10 page paper about their overlapping motifs for one class while also researching a niche period of time that our library doesn't have any resources on. How's it been for you?" and you're like "oh I have a lil packet of fun math puzzles due tomorrow." and they look at you like you're carrying the weight of the universe on your back
This is your reminder that just because something falls within the skillset you've practiced, so you can do it and you don't find it particularly hard or stressful relative to other things, it doesn't mean it isn't actually hard work you should be proud of yourself for accomplishing!
this applies to writing and art, too
Btw if you say anything to the degree of “we want healthcare, not space travel” I automatically assume you’re a dumbass.
And furthermore ☝️ space science and medical science are one in the same. I know a lot of people have a very nebulous idea about what astronauts do, but almost every second of an astronaut's "day" is packed with research, maintenance, and interviews to those of us back here on Earth.
In fact, here are a few interesting articles on recent medical research from the ISS:
Eight implants for nerve regeneration were 3D printed in orbit to be sent back to Earth and used in clinical pretrials
ISS research contributed to the development of a new injection medication for early-stage cancer
Scientists working with the ISS are researching how microgravity affects heart cells, in hopes of creating more effective regenerative heart therapies
Mice were sent to the ISS to study treatments for macular degeneration ahead of clinical trials
I'm an aerospace engineer, so of course I'm on the side of supporting spaceflight and space science. But I think a lot of people dismiss NASA missions as overpriced joyrides for adrenaline junkies, when in reality these are very important ways for us to make scientific advancements that simply aren't feasible on Earth. Less than a cent of every tax dollar goes to NASA, and their science budget gets cut smaller and smaller every year. Publicly-funded science is not your enemy.
(Also, you can learn about Artemis II's science goals over here!)
the uniform, the balisong, the fuckass electrical posts with the messy wirings, the jeepney, the star, the ibong adarna 😭😭😭 is this what it feels like to be represented?
