This is a very good tutorial.
Perfectionism and music
For the longest time I did not dare to release any music because I was to concerned about everything being perfect. The music industry is very cutthroat and pitch forky. Cancel culture can be so unfair. You make one mistake and then its over. So, it’s really difficult to love doing music.
However, I came to realization that it’s better to start then learn, not the other way around because we will never know everything. There is no such thing as a perfect song either.
More importantly, I watched a Youtube video of Andrea Stolpe. Andrea said that a hit song of John Mayer started with the lyrics “I am driving up 85″. She went on to say that we will never look at those lyrics and be like “Wow, I have to write that down”. And that really hit home.
Furthermore, Coldplay doesn’t put a heavy emphasis on lyrics. Chris Martin sings anything that fit the melody naturally and their music sound beautiful.
I think that we must remember that music is expression. We must be free to express and enjoy.
