“Coincidentally, my mom also worked for S.H.I.E.L.D. – my reflexes aren’t hilariously bad though.” He teased with a bit of a smirk. He still planned on going out, but he was too amused to get going just yet. “I’m just an innocent bystander in all of this. I saw a light on and wanted to make sure there wasn’t an intruder in here making off with all our food. I mean really, what kind of a hero would I be if I just left everyone to wake up with absolutely nothing to have for breakfast? I was acting on the greater good of everyone here and should therefore be absolved of all blame.” He explained with a mock serious expression. “If for some reason my speech failed to convince you that I’m blameless in this, I’d like to add that I’m not above phasing through the floor to leave you to deal with whoever storms in here.”
Gabriel nodded, “Kinda sounds like a few of my friends.” Just how he managed to befriend a few people drastically different from him – and continue to get along with them – was still a mystery to him. “Can’t relate to the people part though. I thrive off attention.” His tone implied he was joking, but it really was more or less true.
“I’ll show you reflexes that are hilariously bad.” It was suppose to be a joke, but the words felt odd and awkward leaving her lips. she had indeed shown him her poor reflexes already so the joke didn’t even make sense. God why was she like this?
She laughed, probably a bit too loudly considering the time, amused at this boys antics. He was sassy. she dug it and she could give it right back to him, if she could get over the whole talking to a stranger thing. “Oooh. Stopping the Kitchen Bandit. You must be the bravest of the brave.” She teased, hands now deep in some dough she had been preparing before all of this craziness started. the mention of his power had her head snapping up. her gaze locked on his, a look of wonder in her eyes. She didn’t have much experience with other people like her. A person with powers. She had locked herself in a lab in their old universe away from people like her and she regretted it now. “Is it bad I’m now hoping someone will come rushing down here, just so I can see you phase. Do you think you could phase through something who’s molecules are vibrating at an intense speed? Can you phase through vibranium?” Her brain was moving a million miles a minuete as was normal whenever she got an idea in her head. Probably why she didn’t make friends with people like her. No one wanted to be her test dummy but she just wanted to know how everything worked. “Sorry, you probably didn’t want a Q & A session when you came in here to stop the kitchen bandit.” She teased, a bright red blush creeping up her cheeks.
“I wish I could thrive off attention. Maybe I wouldn’t feel the need to do my baking at midnight.”
