Here in Canada, it’s still the 24th. But I wanted to wish everyone a happy holidays! The holidays at the Barrell’s is always about tradition. What that particular tradition may be, varies.

For me, it’s making sure I have the attention of whatever four-legged furballs are nearby. Maybe get a little buzzed. But the most important tradition is love. Spending time with those you love, and some maybe you love less. We all have those relatives 😝

Another thing we do, both at Thanksgiving and Christmas, is go around and say what we’re thankful for. Me, I’m thankful for the amazing cast mates I get to work with every day. I’m thankful for such an amazing job. I’m thankful for the opportunities life has given me.

So, in classic Barrell tradition: what are you thankful for this holiday season?

01. Old Friends

Her face lights up like a Christmas tree at Liz’s comment, twirling a strand of hair around her finger and tightening it. “I would love that, thank you.” She had put the menu aside, glancing out the window for a moment or so before her attention is drawn back to her friend. “It is, it’s so nice to be back in the studio again. Thank you, that means so much! Hey, I’ve got a question for you actually. Would you like to do a duet with me for my album?” A raise of her eyebrow. Victoria was hoping that she would say yes but she completely understood if she didn’t want to. “You’re already thinking about your future wedding? Wait, two?” Her brows furrow together in confusion but only for a moment as she finally puts it together, snapping her fingers. Vic felt like her life was rather stuck on a hill, career wise ( even if she was realesing new music. ) She was happy for Liz though, she deserved nothing less than everything she was getting. Personally, Vic’s life was lovely, she was happily in love. “That’s so sweet, I like that. Mother and daughter relationships are some of the best.”

Liz laughed lightly at the way Vic lit up about being invited back to their new place after this. “Of course, it’s a fantastic place and we’re in love with it,” she said, knowing that since the couple had moved in the previous weekend, they had settled in nicely, the two of them and their three dogs. “Oh wow!” she said, shocked and surprised at the question, before she flashed a smile. “I’d love to,” she laughed, loving the decisions she kept making this year creatively. “Two, one Catholic and one Hindu.” she said quietly as a waitress came out with their food and tea, Liz pouring herself a cup. “I love my mom so much, and Avan’s,” she said, definitely nervous for Christmas when both families would be together. They’d spent holidays together before, but they had been 15, not 26.

What was it about her laugh that always made her smile? “I’m so glad to hear that, I can’t wait to see it.” When she agreed to do a song with her, Victoria claps her hands together - nearly knocking over her water glass with her elbow. “You have no idea how happy you’ve made me and I swear, the fans are going to go wild! Oh wow, that’s certainly two very different....events.” A pause. “You’re going to look lovely in both but it’ll be interesting to see you in the Hindu attire.” When the tea and food was placed down on the table, the young woman places her napkin in her lap before beginning to dig into her salad. ( Pouring the tea with her other hand, being careful not to burn herself. ) There’s a nod of her head at Liz’s statement. “It’s like having an extra mom I’m guessing.”

“It’s Christmas Eve and I’m in my happy place, drinking hot cider by a roaring fire! I’m so happy to be home with my family and just basically basking in eachother’s love.

Does that sound too cheesy? I feel like I got the perfect gift for my sister, might have missed the nail on the head when it came to my mom.”

Would it be totally cheesy and ridiculous for her to jump into @fodetough’s arms? Yes but she’s going to do it anyway because he’s here and she adores him!

She lets out a hum as her hair is played with, pulling away from the kiss after a few minutes. “Alright, Italian it is. Wanna order in or go out?” A bright smile at the kiss to the top of her head.

He thinks about it, glancing at Victoria. “Want to order in, drink some wine and watch sappy Christmas movies that are predictable within 15 minutes?” He asks, chuckling

She lets out a happy squeal. Look at them, truly in the Christmas spirit. “Uh duh, that sounds perfect! Am I gonna have to defend how amazing those sappy Christmas movies are?” The young woman chuckles, breaking away from him to head towards the kitchen where the wine is. “Red or white?”
