“Okay, so, here’s to the freaking ending of this weird as fuck nightmare.” She raised the glass and took a long sip of the golden liquor that had been sitting on her glass. Now that it was all over, now that they could resume their lives, Lindsay just really had one thought in her mind: drinking. Drinking would make the past few days hazy in her memory and she had been thinking about it since her heartbeat slowed down from the panic attack. She had not handled it well, so, bar hopping with Vincent Williams only suited her purposes of forgetting her fifth week in Montreal and push it right back on her mind. The company was good and the alcohol was great and as long as they were both on their feet, what was the problem. “I don’t think I have ever been so happy in seeing your ugly face, Williams.” There was a smile in her face as she gave Vince a kiss on the cheek before tapping on the bar and ordering two more.
“About fucking time. Let’s do this.” Vince instantly raised his glass as well, throwing it back, practically downing over half. “I almost thought I’d never be drinking again for a second.” As if the bizarre circumstances weren’t enough already, he’d been stuck in a bar for a week prohibited from any alcohol. Even if he could, Harper was with him and all. He had a decent uncle rep believe it or not. On the other hand, Waverly actually wasn’t one he frequented for family reasons he didn’t talk about. What really mattered? Thankfully, everyone they knew ended up alright. Now being back out on a regular bar-hopping tour with Lindsay along, they were taking no prisoners whatsoever. “Back at you. Too bad you’re stuck with it now, sister in law.” His features playfully scrunched at her cheek kiss, nudging her in return. She knew exactly what he meant. Grabbing another one of the full glasses slid over towards them, he also signaled a round of shots. He was more than ready to break records.
“Thanks,” Devyn smiled at him when he brought over two coffee’s for them. His presence always seemed to soothe her even if he wasn’t necessarily aware of it. It was why vince became so important to her after time. “Perfectly fine.” She whispered as she moved closer to lay her head on his shoulder. Least of all, she didn’t want to talk about this with Vince. Not yet, at least. It wasn’t right to burden him with her own problems when he was going through so much already. She loved him for caring, but he cared so much already – it was time for him to care for himself. “How’ve you been holding up?” she asked.
“You can tell me if you want. -- Or not.” Vince offered, knowing she wasn’t anywhere near ‘perfectly fine.’ But as Devyn moved closer, her head resting itself on his shoulder it seemed like that was her answer, him being there was enough. He didn’t want to press her either, as she never pressed him. The last face to face conversation they’d had already teetered on that line. One of his arms draped itself around her shoulders, shrugging at her question back at him. “Fine.” Even though, likely, she could likely sense his answer meant anything but too. “You know, now that I can drink in bars again and didn’t go raccoon rabid I guess.” He attempted to joke, hoping it would elicit some sort of smile from her.
Harley turned around slowly to face Vince. “Proof, huh?” She spoke slowly as she leaned back against the hood of the car with her arms crossed above her chest. Silently, she calculated how far they were from the exit, and how quickly she could catch him. Which rarely happened given her charcoal coloured lungs from her continuous battle with nicotine. “I’d say it’s more than enough for you to start fucking running.”
Vince nodded, pressing the play button on the recording. Specifically, when it reached the part of her shouted confession over and over, the triumphant smirk only widened across his lips. If this had happened before, he wouldn’t remember as he usually was hammered with her and everything she’d sent him while away all practically ran together in his mind. “You sure? I don’t know, you're looking a little sweaty there already, baby. You can just go shout it from the rooftops instead.” He shrugged, tapping the phone against his palm.

Maddie: I never properly said thank you for calming me down the other day. So thank you. How are you?
Vince: Hey no problem that whole thing was crazy. I'm fine thanks. Everything good with you?

“Vince?” Emily called out as she walked into the small music shop her brother could be found knelt over a guitar. “I’m a little bit early, I hope you don’t mind.” Her soft voice traveled through the shop as she ventured further inside, keeping a safe distance from anything that looked of value. The last thing she needed was to break something she’d have to reimburse, or worse, get her brother in trouble. As she peered around a corner, a smile fixated on her lips once she caught sight of her brother with a client. With a quick wave and a point towards a near bench, she indicated that she would wait for him to finish.
“Good, keep at that riff. We’ll start with it next time and build more on the song.” Vince instructed the student he was currently working with. He considered any lesson a good one when successfully teaching a decent chunk of a legendary rock song. The choice today? Red Hot Chili Pepper’s Californication. While reaching towards his desk to jot the progress down, he noticed Emily arrive, really glad his sister took him up on his offer after all. Giving her a smile in return and a nod of acknowledgement, he excused his student. “Hey Em.” He greeted, shutting the notebook, walking over to her. “So, ready to get some lunch? I know I am.”

“Impressed at my stupidity? Really? If anyone knew I was doing this they’d judge me.” Falling back on the couch, she gestured for Vince to go through the plastic bag she’d managed to acquire, all the while stressing over her impending choice of hanging out. “Stupid question,” she’d been out of the game for too long. “Can we just—keep it to ourselves? Including not telling Leo? He’d probably think I was the worst mother in history of the world.”
“Stupid for wanting to hang with your bro like old times for once?” Vince countered, digging into the bag, taking a look at the substance. Shrugging, he placed the stash aside for now, the more the better. “Too late. I already sent a mass text, remember? Come on Charlie, everyone knows you’re a good mom and Leo’s whipped no matter what.” Pulling out a lighter, he lit both blunts he already rolled, handing one over to her. “Here. Let’s just go already.” Taking a hit, he exhaled a significant puff of smoke, turning towards his sister with brows raised as if asking if she was good.
Devyn wasn’t sure how to process any of this for the simple fact that processing wasn’t her strong suit. The blonde often drowned her sorrows in alcohol and drugs – and in that moment, while she held a picture of herself and a boy she’d come to care for in ways she could still not comprehend, Devyn remembered the pills he had given her weeks prior. However, before she could reach for the bottle that had been tucked in her purse previously, she began to swipe at her tears when she noticed a set of footsteps approaching. “Hey, how are you?” the blonde forced out with an halfhearted smile in hopes that it would pull the attention away from her puffy eyes and tear stained cheeks, closing the phone a beat later.
It didn’t take long for Vince to spot Devyn. He approached with two coffees, as his earlier text mentioned he was bringing; now that everything in the city began opening up again after the past week’s crazy outbreak situation. “As promised.” He nodded down towards the cups. Although, his features fell, noticing her evident somber expression. Before anything, he moved a few steps forward, taking a seat. "Hey, fine. – Everything ok?“ Stupid question, but he really meant it meaning whether she told him or not, he did want to be there for her regardless.

“Say you don’t remember all you want, Har. This time, I still have the proof. Right here.” Vince held his phone up, a finger inched towards the play button on Harley’s voicemail message. “I’d say it’s more than enough to forgive you for having fun without me.” His brows wiggled, still baiting her, readying to make a usual break for it.

“I know it feels like we’ve been through hell and back but now we’re home. We have cable, internet… and we can finally relax over a glass of whiskey.” Leo tried his hardest to keep a brave face on through out the rest of his sentence, noting Vince was on a travel site as he browsed the web. It was none of his business, however, so he tried not to pry. Sitting himself down next to his best friend, he took a sip from his own glass when he nudged Vince to take a sip from his. “I had to check up on all of my things to make sure everything was intact.”
“Yeah, it’s about time.” Vince gave an over-exaggerated nod, hastily clicking away from the flight fares page as Leo approached. Leaving wasn’t a new idea, it seemed best for everyone’s sake, especially knowing pressure would only keep rising now. “Right, thanks bro.” Throwing the glass back, he practically downed it entirely while Leo continued. Luckily, the conversation didn't shift, for now at least. “All Leo-approved? Is Lois still sleeping in my room? Bet she hadn’t moved the entire time.“ He cracked a grin, throwing an arm over his head for a stretch.
The craziness of the main room at Waverly had slowly been getting too much for Maddie. It was impossible to hear yourself think and all she needed to do was focus on staying calm. Grabbing her bottle of water, the brunette pushed up from the floor and hurried to the back of the bar, an idea sparking in her mind. Glancing behind her, Maddie carefully slipped out of sight and climbed the staircase leading to the apartment above Waverly. Maddie had lost count the amount of times she’d ended up in the room after a night out, with Charlotte always willing to help her friend out. Grabbing the spare key, she unlocked it, breathing a sigh of relief at the silence inside.
Just as she plugged her phone into a charger, the power died, forcing a groan from the girl’s lips, with her phone nearly dead, she just needed to know her friends and her boyfriend were safe. “Maddie..” Turning, she instantly crouched down as she saw Harper running into the room. “Hey peanut, what’s going on? What’s wrong, sweetheart?” Hugging the girl gently, Maddie smiled at Vince ran into the room. “Ssh, here’s Uncle Vince, it’s alright now..” Nodding as her friend scooped the little girl up, Maddie glanced anxiously at her phone. “I, um.. No, not really. I have no idea if everyone is alright and I, just.. I just couldn’t breathe down there, you know? I have so much on my mind and I just can’t.. I can’t seem to completely calm down and that’s stressing me out even more. Are you two alright, is Harper alright? Where’s Char?”
“I don't blame you.” Truthfully, he was at his wit’s end in this bizarre situation too. It didn’t even seem real. “Sorry I didn’t see you earlier. You’re more than welcome to stick with us. I’ve got Leo and my other sister Emily down there too.” He nodded, shifting Harper slightly in his arms as her head dug itself into the crook of his neck. “Yeah, we’re good. Just waiting for word to get out of here. Harper was probably thrilled seeing another girl she knew.” Although at the mentioned of Charlotte, he pursed his lips. “Charlie ended up at the fire station. I got a hold of her but she told me things were getting crazy there after we heard the new alert.” He was banking on things being alright. Their lives were already complicated enough with everything going on, the last thing he needed was something happening to her, despite all their looming differences. He then noticed Maddie’s agitated expression towards her phone. “Your phone dead? I have some battery left.” He maneuvered his free hand to fish it out of his pocket, having managed plugging it in for a bit in a surprisingly empty outlet before all the lights killed. “You can text Wes, anyone you need to.”
Emily knew what he was about to say without needing him to speak the words. He hadn’t planned on leaving her, and she was suddenly grateful to have found him. Sure, their relationship was strained upon his arrival – but of all people, she needed her big brother right now. Before she could say something, she paused at the alert and gripped Vince’s hand as the lights closed. “What happened!? I don’t like this.” the girl whispered, blinking when the light was shined on her face. She wanted to be strong and brave, but she knew the situation seemed to only be getting worse with each passing hour. Her eyes trained on Vince’s cellphone, brow furrowed when she realized charlotte was not responding. “Should … should be go get her?”
“It’s ok, I’m here, Em, I’m here!” Vince didn’t move from his current spot in the darkness, giving his sister’s hand a reassuring squeeze. There was more indication behind the gesture, that despite her indifference towards him, he appreciated her allowing him to protect her at least for now. He knew he didn’t deserve pushing his luck, but maybe after this all subsided, she’d allow him in continuing trying. Before he could call Charlie again or answer Emily, Harper began frantically crying, blending in with the current chaos surrounding them. Shit. “Peanut, hey hey. Uncle Vince and Aunt Emily are here.” He gently whispered, leading the girls further back against the wall. No matter what, he’d put his own life on the line for the two of them. “Can you try holding her?” He asked, figuring Harper needed a female instead -- and no one better than one with Williams blood herself.

Harley: Imagine how rich I'd be. You're cute, correcting me. B E S T F R I E N D. You're right.
Harley: Yeah right. I got others to dance for me while I sat in a chair and enjoyed.
Harley: It's fucking what?! This is when you know there's freaks in this world. Someone prob tried to fuck a dog and then a woman and that shit spread.
Harley: There's a lot of noise and people foaming at the mouth. I die, you get my name tattooed on your ass.
Vince: I better get half. A correction and compliment? Wow this is hell already.
Vince: You better have covered my sister's eyes.
Vince: 😏 So you admit it. This was all you.
Vince: Don't fuck with me. That won't happen. If you go rabid I'd be your first victim 😘

Charlie: Neither of you are going anywhere. Don't test me. I need you guys to stay safe and I sure as hell am not a damsel in distress.
Charlie: LOL I like her.
Charlotte: There's no more bottled water here. Don't drink the tap water is all I'm saying. Apparently everything is infected? It's like the apocalypse or something lol.
Vince: I never said that. We just beat you with a plan. 😎
Vince: Alright how many embarassing stories about me has she told you? -__-
Vince: Well they better find a way to get more there. Yes m'aam. What? Just like that? Where the hell are the Walking Dead cameras?
Vince: Seriously Charlie you're still ok right?

( ALLY ): ...I know. I'm sorry, okay?
( ALLY ): I..I do understand. It's hard to feel connected to you when your family is trying so very hard to push me away and treating me like I'm some sort of evil monster when all I'm trying to do is help. I'm not trying to force anything, I get it that it's a hard time. I haven't pressed you once about anything. I don't want to rush things either, Vince. You have no idea how hard it is to keep wanting to reach out, help, to have the best intentions, only to be shut down as if you're some cold hearted monster bitch.
( ALLY ): I'll...I'll stop, okay? I'll leave you alone if you want, if that will make things easier. I care about you, that's all, more than I care about me.
( VINCE ): Thank you.
( VINCE ): Good. I'm sorry you felt that way but no matter what people think I actually stand by my family. Above anything. It wasn't and is just not the time at all. It's gotten to be way too much. Please realize that
( VINCE ): I think that's for the best. I care too and I'm down to support you with your work but you can't expect any more from me or keep insisting we're together. It's how it has to be. Period.
Text ---> Dev
( Devyn ): What does that even mean? Why are you being so cryptic?
( Devyn ): Of course we will. Nothing can keep us down, baby.
( Devyn ): I'm not convinced at all. Tell me what's going on? You know you're going to worry me and I'm talking to charlotte too. Well you're not cute when you make me worry.
( Devyn ): Fuck. Power's out too. In a damn church. I'm going to have nightmares about this.
( Vince ): You know if my phone died and your number's on my arm?
( Vince ): Don't forget it babe
( Vince ): I did tell you. You are? Is she good? I see how it is. Texting you first before her bro.
( Vince ): Watch out for zombies and ghosts 👻 But it's more of a nightmare when you can't drink stuck in a fucking bar 😑 I win
