Well, this wasn’t the first time Chrom had encountered someone part animal and part human. Although, this was the first time he heard someone speak in such a different language.

"Er, hello there," He spoke, hoping that the stranger could hear him. Chrom smiled slightly at him. "Can you .. understand me?" He pointed at himself, waiting for a reply.

First things first, he was right. They couldn't understand him, but they still seemed to speak the modern speech, so at least that made it easier for him. Though.. he still wished he had Nailah around to communicate better. Regardless, he'd have to live without his queen for now, but hoped he'd see her again soon, in the meantime,

                                   he nodded as his ears twitched again, and he tilted his head as his tail began swaying behind him.

It was rough and hesitant, but he managed to mutter out a "Yes..." quietly, but loud enough for the other to hear. His curiosity shown through his swaying tail, but every other part of him was schooled and calm.

I figured you wouldn't understand me. But, no matter, it's not like any of you Beroc can understand me anyways. I wonder if there are other Laguz around? mmm...

"Y-you.." he tried to speak, but modern tongue always eluded him, "Kn-know... Laguz?" it definitely served to embarrass him, trying-- and failing-- to speak their language, but he tried not to let his embarrassment show.
