Volkswagen Golf Rallye G60, 1990. The rally version of the second generation Golf used VW's then new Synchro all wheel drive and a supercharged 1.8 litre engine. Despite its advanced technology, the Golf Rallye G60 did not achieve significant rally success, its best result in the WRC was a single third-place finish. 5000 road versions were built for homologation purposes.

Volkswagen Rabbit Pick-Up, 1980. The first generation Golf was marketed as the Rabbit in the US and thus the pick-up that was sold in Europe as the Caddy became the Rabbit Pick-Up. It only survived for one generation

Volkswagen ‘Half-track Fox’, 1962. A T1 converted with four axles – two of them fitted with a chain drive mechanism and two steering the vehicle using double tyres, that was created for its Austrian owner. The unique vehicle was recently restored by VWCV Classic Vehicles. The T1 was powered by a standard 1,192cc 34 PS flat 4 engine giving the Half-track Fox a top speed of 35 km/h, slightly slower than the animal from which it got its name
