Don't You Want To? || Daisy || Flightful Days || Closed for Momoe
"That’s good. You’re my friend, I want to make sure you take care of yourself!"
Were they really friends? After all that had gone down between the two, ‘friends’ was probably not the case. Even she could see that.
"I had been under the impression that he’d changed… That, and he said he needed one of the taller girls to help him reach something."
Shinji was actually taller than she was, rendering this point highly suspicious. However, she does seem to be telling the truth, based on her voice and actions. The two are almost at Daisy’s room, anyways. Daisy pushes open the door (looks like she didn’t lock it), holding it open for Momoe.
"After you!"
Seriously, she appeared to be in a very minimal amount of pain right now. What was with that?
Even she couldn't keep her blank expression at the notion that the two were 'friends', there wasn't any way in this hell of a world that they could be considered friends. Not from her point of view. No, acquaintances maybe, but certainly not friends. A small frown, but that was just about it thankfully for her.
"I always take care of myself, though it's pleasant to have other people think as well."
Literally she's only thanking you for thinking about her. People should think about her more often, it might satiate her ego.
And.... Admittedly, there was a height problem when it came to that room wasn't there? Shinji was one of the tallest kids in the class wasn't he? Though, when it came to the observatory there was always a height problem. So, maybe that point was moot but she still was suspicious.
Her eyes narrowed though as Daisy had no trouble opening the door, as well as inviting her first. No, no as much as she enjoyed being first there was always something to have for being paranoid about this. If she could go later with Caoin she would just do it again.
"It's your room, you should go first."
She nodded her head slightly, a small stand in for a bow as was her usual.
"I don't wish to be rude after all."
Don't You Want To? || Daisy || Flightful Days || Closed for Momoe
Of course, Momoe had undoubtedly witnessed Aideen’s antics in the trial. Daisy was more or less desperately searching for some sort of distraction.
And by some incredible feat of luck, she actually succeeded! Daisy let out a breath of relief that she didn’t know she had been holding in. Maybe Momoe wouldn’t have thought she had any relation to those bandages on the floor, but realistically, the lolita probably would have put two and two together. She was just counting her lucky stars that she got away with that.
"You haven’t seen what I’ve seen yet. She held up a knife to my face for the crime of being sociable. She’s crazy, so stay safe, okay?"
Daisy nodded at her own statement, but her face contorted nervously when Momoe asked her about that full story. Oh boy.
"O-Ok… Well, Shinji asked me to investigate with him. He said there was something in the observatory- you know, that new place? It has a telescope and stuff. On the way to the observatory, we got into a shouting match. He… He said I had always been an empty shell. That I was desperate, and couldn’t take care of myself."
Daisy’s expression and tone seemed… Genuine. Or at least like she wasn’t hiding anything. That changed when she got to the next bit, however, and she was right back to being shifty and nervous.
"I said some things right back at him. Next thing you know, he had me pinned on the floor with a knife in my arm. He told me that… that everyone would believe I’d killed myself. And you all would have, wouldn’t you? With my recent behavior and all… Well, as soon as he was finishing up the second arm, I really started to panic, and I hit him in the nose. I think I might have broken it. The rest is just… Blurry. I think I may have knocked him back, and I ran away."
Judging by her behavior, Daisy was likely withholding at least some of the truth.
When people are around she's got to focus more on them than on other things in the environment. They were the dangerous ones right? Have to keep focus where it's needed, as hard as that can be sometimes.
"I intend to."
She's done a pretty good job of avoiding danger so far. Though, might be breaking that streak soon.
Though, she was getting to heard some words as to the events now. That was something at the least, she listened as Daisy spoke. Ah the observatory. That place was troublesome wasn't it? Though, it could be more interesting at night. Maybe she'd have to go back, when she didn't have things to keep in mind though.
But, she kept listening. Her eyes narrowed a bit as she noticed the other girl get anxious about what she was saying. Did that mean that something was a lie or that it was truly hard to remember? She had never been in a truly scary situation, so perhaps that might just be her being naive there. Thinking about it like that make her shiver ugh.
"Well from the way I can see it, there's no real reason to do so. It would have been kind of obvious to me at the least."
Or maybe she was enforcing her thoughts on other people, she thought it would be useless- they would find a way out. She was being the optimistic one and that maybe was surprising to her.
But, she didn't word her suspicions. Mostly due to some feelings not going into words properly, there was no need to voice that couldn't be so correct?
"Why would you have agreed to go with him in the first place, especially after his performance in trial as well?"
The question that did come to her mind was that, if your arms were cut like that don't you lose a lot of feeling? Maybe that was a misconception, she knew very little about how injuries such as that worked on people who were alive. Or dead, but that wasn't what she had to think of right now. How would she have hit Shiniji? Who knows...
tfw u gotta go in the maze and u dont want ur nice clothes getting messed up
Don't You Want To? || Daisy || Flightful Days || Closed for Momoe
As her response was enough to satisfy Daisy, she nodded contentedly at Momoe, turning and walking in the direction of her room.
It was now hitting her that the bandages she’d abandoned on the way over had been left on the hallway floor- you know, the hallway they were walking in right now? Daisy didn’t know whether or not Momoe would see them, but decided a distraction was in order.
"S-So! Furugawa-san, are you doing alright? Have you met any of the students from the other castle? Stay away from that Aideen- she’s a bad egg."
'Bad egg'? Really? Daisy really twisted her head back, trying to encourage Momoe to look at her and not any bandages possibly sitting on the floor.
Admittedly, a distraction was enough for her to not notice. Maybe she was a bit too on edge, but it was enough. Count those blessings Daisy.
She raised an eyebrow at the comment? 'Bad Egg'? That was really putting it lightly wasn't it? They had both been there when the fight had broken out, and both of them had been in the trial. It may be more worthwhile to use something more powerful than 'Bad Egg'. She had mentioned something in trial, was that what she was referring too? There was plenty of other evidence.
Or maybe she was over thinking this. Who knows.
"Well considering the fighting during investigation and during trial I don't think I'd be looking for her? The rest just seem well. Relatively annoying."
There were exceptions of course, Emile maybe wasn't terrible. She was still a bit bitter about the encounter with E earlier of course. Not that she had any clue that she was in pretty real danger there.
"But, I'm fine. You seem to have gotten yourself in a situation if anything."
Fine may not be the best word actually. But, in one piece was a full phrase and that was longer to say.
"You mentioned telling me the full story though, do tell."
She's trying her best to sound toneless, expression even. Clearly, she's practiced this.
Don't You Want To? || Daisy || Flightful Days || Closed for Momoe
Daisy noticed the scowl, and visibly tensed. Had she been a little too forceful with her desire not to go to the infirmary? She hoped not.
"Um… Yeah, you probably couldn’t. Uh, sorry about that name slip. I’m just kind of stressed out right now."
That part was true, at least. However, at least Momoe seemed to be alright with going with her, so Daisy did her best to put her worries behind her, and slapped on what she hoped was a genuine looking smile.
"Thank you…! Um, please, let’s go to my room. Just follow me."
She really didn’t seem to be in enough pain for somebody who had just had her arms cut open. Turning on her heels, Daisy looked over her shoulder to see if Momoe was going to follow her.
Momoe isn't a forgiving soul. In fact she's quite spiteful when she needs to be. And well, Daisy you certainly had no reason to leave that zone.
There wasn't much one could do to convince her at the moment was there? She was really only going along to find out what in the world Daisy was talking about, because something seemed obviously weird about this. She just, didn't know what it was.
Her mouth twitched back to a scowl as she almost tried to say something in response to the apology, no she couldn't even bring herself to say that. Not that it was even much, but- no she couldn't do it. Keep yourself quiet, it's something you've been good at before. As much as you hate it.
"Lead the way..."
The last time she was even there was when Sumi had destroyed Trembling, nothing had probably changed right. Slowly, the Lolita model followed behind. Not exactly very close of course, though she was used to much faster people to have to follow about.
Sometimes being suspicious of other people could pay off right? Maybe. Or maybe she was being pointlessly paranoid. Only time will tell.
Don't You Want To? || Daisy || Flightful Days || Closed for Momoe
“Momoe. Listen to me. I. Am not. Going. To the infirmary.”
Well, that was quite the change from the respectful ‘Furugawa-san’ Daisy was using earlier. For whatever reason, she’s really against this idea.
"Um… Oh! Maybe you can help me clean them off? I have some old clothes in my bedroom, we can use them as bandages!"
This is so weird. Why is she getting Momoe to help her with this? Wasn’t she crying in pain earlier? What.
"And unless you think you can take him, I’d recommend we don’t go anywhere near that infirmary. I’d rather neither of us take any risks like that."
"So? Will you help me? I can tell you the full story on the way there."
Momoe scowled the moment that Daisy decided to say her first name in that tone. No, no that was a quick way to get back on her bad side wasn't it? She never had talked about that had she, though perhaps it wasn't something one made light conversation off. Plus, she didn't like appearing angry about it.
All she showed was a scowl though.
"... Fine."
Bleed out for all she cared.
"I certainly don't think I could take him."
Or just about anyone in this place. She was what? One of the shortest people still alive? There was Shinobou and Sumi, but she was tied for 2nd shortest. With that on her side she wouldn't have a chance against him, or most people. That was what she was used to wasn't it?
"Clothing can work, so long as it's not dirty."
A shrug and a small sigh were what that all was said with, trying to take the scowl off her face. In a rush most things can work decently though, right? Admittedly, most of her knowledge on the topic came from stories. Her experience with injuries prior to this place was nothing beyond the simple cuts and bruises. As far as she cared to think back of course.
"Fine, I'll see what I can do."
She had about zero intention of helping her now, but she was curious about what this full story was. Curiosity killed the cat didn't it?
i catn evne think of a caption welp
Don't You Want To? || Daisy || Flightful Days || Closed for Momoe
Daisy wiped away a few tears that had freed themselves from her eyes, looking up, but not meeting Momoe’s gaze. Reaching up to scratch her face (no easy feat when you don’t actually have nails), Daisy then folded her arms again, holding tightly over the wounds.
"I-I just think… Look, he doesn’t like me, okay? We… Said some things to each other after the trial. Some really harsh things. I think I hit a nerve. He’s stronger than me, he just… I would have been a goner if I didn’t wrestle the knife out of his hands."
While she was talking, her gaze fell down to the ground, but flew right back up when Momoe replied.
"Uh… Well, we can’t go to the infirmary because… Um… I-I wounded Shinji when I escaped! Yeah, I… Punched him and broke his nose. Probably. Point is, what if he’s in the infirmary? Furugawa-san, neither of us are fighters, what if he tries again? He might take you with him! We can probably find something else to put on them- I won’t die, they aren’t that deep."
Daisy is blinking rapidly, and her voice is getting a little higher as she speaks. Something is obviously wrong with her- so what is it?
Could she understand why someone wouldn't want to meet eyes with someone? Well yes, she herself may not have been the best at it. But matched with the rest of the words Daisy was saying Momoe was confused.
"Well yes it would be bad..."
She frowns, even the chance that Shinji was trying to kill someone was a bad thing. This concerned her, so she could care about it to a larger extent. Sorry Daisy! Momoe's still as self-absorbed as ever!
"Well then what can I do here? You just stated I certainly can't fight the guy?"
Clearly Daisy had come to the best person for help in whatever was going on. Momoe had just about zero creative thinking when it came to the ideas of others sometimes.
"And even if you won't die a lot of blood loss is bad right?"
She had seen a lot of blood while she was here. If she learned anything it was just about how much blood the human body could actually lose. Well, to an extent of course. But, there was a lot of blood in there. And Momoe had no idea how long Daisy had been bleeding for.
That and she doesn't like open cuts a lot. Kind of gross. She didn't want the murder anymore probably because it meant seeing less injuries in people.
Honestly she felt so confused right now, though she kept her expression as one of concern. What in the world was happening here.
Don't You Want To? || Daisy || Flightful Days || Closed for Momoe
Now crying harder, Daisy barely managed to sputter out her next few words.
"I-I don’t know! Uwah… Uwaaaaah!"
After sobbing into her hands for a few minutes, Daisy regained her composure, holding her arms down from her mascara-stained face. She really did look pathetic, quivering look on her face and makeup everywhere.
"H-He tried to make it look l-like I’d killed myself… Who could do something like t-that? I was so s-scared, I don’t want to die! He’s gone insane… I’m scared, Furugawa-san."
At the mention of getting bandages, however, Daisy’s eyes got wide, tears prickling at the corners disappearing entirely.
"No! Um… I mean, we can’t go to the apothecary. I’m. Uh… We should try to find bandages from somewhere else… He didn’t cut me as deep as I’d t-thought, we don’t need Sorrel."
She’s strangely adamant about not going down there.
Daisy was certainly crying a lot. Maybe she wasn't fond of the girl but how does one person cry this much. Maybe not everyone refuses to cry like you Momoe, maybe.
"I don't know why someone would do that, unless it was trying to cover up a murder. But there's no reason to kill anyone anymore."
That was a bit over generalizing honestly. There was no motives was more of less what was true, people could still very much want to murder. She could only imagine what would happen if some other people were here.
"Well he's not here right now, and your arms are still bleeding."
She frowns, maybe it was just her lack of knowledge when it came to injuries but don't you try to treat these things no matter how deep they were? Why wouldn't Daisy even just. Want to try going to get bandages?
"Shouldn't you at least get something on it? I don't know of any other places to get even just something to wrap it in."
She had never gotten injured. Lucky her? She knew plenty of people who got injured, thanks guys. They all seemed to go to Sorrel, or to whoever the other group had to help them.
Daisy what the heck was going on.
Don't You Want To? || Daisy || Flightful Days || Closed for Momoe
Still clutching onto her arms, Daisy looked as though she was barely restraining a barrage of tears- and that was the truth, honestly. Despite her best efforts, some were gathering at the corners of her eyes, just waiting for her to let them fall.
"H-He attacked me! He said he was g-gonna make it look like a suicide… He was going to make it look like I tried to kill myself again!"
However, as soon as she was asked for a name, the tears couldn’t be withheld any longer, and Daisy burst into tears.
"S-S-Shinji…! It was Shinji! “
What was even happening. They think they're getting some quiet and this happens. Considering the last time she had heard from Shinji was during his. Antics. In trial, she couldn't have expected him for trying to kill someone. He was annoying and obtuse but nothing. Horrible.
"Shinji-kun?"
She says with a confused expression. Again, why would he-or anyone-want to kill right now. This was making no sense but well, there was blood. Something happened, she just had no idea what was going on.
"W-Why would he try something like this..."
It was a strange worded question even to her, but the question still stood. She had no idea what to do about it, what were they supposed to find the guy or something? She hadn't even heard from the guy since the trial! She shook her head slightly, mouth curled into a scowl.
"Shouldn't you bandage these up? Then try something about him?"
She didn't see the bandages on the floor, admittedly it wasn't something she was focused on. There was bleeding crying girl here, and she is the only one here. Have to help.
She really was regretting talking Emile into giving back that guy's glasses, maybe it would have been better to leave the 'blind' guy in that staircase.
Don't You Want To? || Daisy || Flightful Days || Closed for Momoe
These past two days sucked, and this incident had only made it worse.
Rushing out of the observatory about as fast as a girl with serious osteoporosis and five-inch stilettos can, Daisy’s face was contorted into one of horror. White bandages, covered in red, trailed behind her as she ran from the new location, though she did her best to tear them from her arms, revealing two fresh, long, dangerously thick vertical cuts up her forearms. Oh dear.
The only place she could think to run to was a familiar location- the grand hall. Was it far away, or very close? She didn’t know, and couldn’t gauge the distance in her adrenaline and panic. But she got there, and instantly rested herself against the doorframe, panicked and gasping for air. Her bandages were long abandoned in the hall.
Calling out to the girl at the table, Daisy sounded absolutely terrified. She held on to both forearms, attempting to stop the trickles of blood.
"F-Furugawa-san! Furugawa-san, please, help me! He tried to kill me, he tried to kill me!”
You would think after the trial things would have calmed down a bit.
Things had seemed rather calm for a while anyways, it wasn't like people would have much energy for something after that nightmare of a trial right? They was only so much a person could do in a day right? That might just be her and her very limited strength.
So imagine that surprise when Daisy appeared at the door of the great hall. It was nice to take the breather after all of this stuff. A breather in the lightest sense of the world.
Upon the door being opened and Daisy calling out even Momoe couldn't exactly ignore it. She has some semblance of a soul after all, that or some semblance of empathy. Maybe both. Maybe.
"E-Eh? Agatha-chan what are you saying?"
She gets up from her seat and approaches a bit hesitantly, having no idea at all of what is happening.
"Who tried to kill you?"
Who would think to try to kill someone in a time like this! They didn't have motives, or anything of the sort! Who thought this was an idea that they could have.
So much for a breather.

Observatory
An oversized telescope stands in the center of this circular room, the scope extending up to and through a gap in the domed ceiling. The device looks to be fixed in place, and there doesn’t seem to be much you can do with it really, it’s an extremely old fashioned model. Around the room are a few tables covered in charts and charting paper, various writing utensils, and protractors, but most of it is incomprehensible unless you’re an astronomy buff. What would looking through the telescope show? There’s only one way to find out.
Eyrie
Wind rushes through the windows, which have no panes and are little more than holes cut in the stone. Looking out risks vertigo, you have reached the very top of the tower. There’s a chill in the air from the height, and the breeze echoes through the empty slots and perches where, presumably, messenger pigeons once nested. Now all is bare and empty, rows upon rows of little holes standing sentinel over the stones. You could say this room is pretty… eerie.
