Society

Red, White, and Blue.

Colors that signify innocence, hardiness, and justice.

Colors that signify a sense of pride and freedom.

  But what does freedom actually mean.

Is it something where we can just dream about everyday or is it a reality.

Or better yet is it a social construct by society, which has no logic or propriety.

  We claim to live in a country, which prohibits the government from encouraging or promoting religion in any way.

But is it okay for Donald Trump to make a community or individuals feel dismay

  Communities already in shambles due to their appearance

Being thrown off planes cause they think we are aliens

Looking at us like we’re foreign objects from outer space

So why can’t you just lets us have some space?

  But one thing people don’t realize is that this is our identity

An identity so strong that causes some to just startle away

An identity the media has caused the public to MAKE assumptions about

  Assumptions so great that only drives hate

A hate so strong that causes communities to retaliate

Suffering which only leads to pain

And pain which only leads to no gain

  Politicians controlling media like its a game OF chess

Moving us like little pawns that have no fate

Residing in glory like they just got check mate

Thinking that all they can do is stir up hate

  Now how do we step back and create

Create a community, a Sangat, or a Panth that no one can re-create

A community so strong that others just want to appreciate

  It is easier said then actually done

But don’t think it is sudden and can’t be done

It all starts from the heart

And no one can tear it apart

 Most people in todays day and age are usually driven away from what they are passionate about

Society convincing them that they can’t succeed if they do what they like

And most of us are just too busy stuck becoming something that we don’t know if its right

Most activists don’t dream to become one, but it is through experience and oppression which causes one to become one

An activist isnt someone who is restricted to a community or a religion

But better yet they have the ability to stand up for any cause or existence

Through art, singing, writing, and rap people all over the world try to ignite a fire

A fire so large that the whole world can see

A fire so hot that the whole world can feel

A fire so destructive that causes all the oppressors to fall

And a fire so thick that blocks the world from igniting hate within in all

We all have it within us and it’s only a matter of time until we can extinguish

A Burning Race

Black, White, and Brown

Colors that we see, wear, and use

Some more prevalent than others

But seen no matter where we go

From the shade of one's skin to the shade of one's hair

Color is so prevalent and associated with every stare

To some these colors are so rare

And to others they may just seem unfair

But who defines this color or significance in society?  

Is it just a social construct with no logic or propriety

We tend to conform to social norms and behaviors

But is it a social norm to shoot an individual who may look different from the exterior?

From walking into a store and being stared at because we look different

From being avoided because they think we can't speak English

From getting pulled over since the color of our skin may make us look suspicious

And simply being denied to sit in the same seat because, it may be for the privileged

All this separation for what?

All this anxiety for what?

All this hate and revenge for what?

Just because our Hijabs make us stand out and look more beautiful

Just because the color of our Turbans are able to match with all our clothes

Just because our Kippa may have our favorite team on top

Just because we have a heart which is forgiving and ready to accept all

From where does this hate originate.

Just take a second and think about this.

The solution isn't just to retaliate

There is more to life then taking away another's life

Imagine if one does this to your mother or father?

Decides to bully your brother or sister?

Thought i'd be okay to write hate words all over ones father's store?

Would you just remain quiet and let the hate continue?

Or would you just sit there and let the shots hit you?

No! Through frustration and anger you'd want to retaliate

It would make you so mad that you'd do anything to make up for this hate

Yet you know this will only build up more hate

This hate so strong that all it would carry is weight

Why can't we just try to break these stereotypes

Why can't we try to accept and learn each and everyone one of our faiths

Why can't we just try to love one another for who we are

Why can't we just unite and stand tall

Lets try to drive out this hate with light

A light so bright that blinds us all

A blindness which causes us to see nothing at all

A nothing which unifies everyone to see in just one color

A color so beautiful that no can define

A color so elegant which causes one to smile

A color so powerful that unites us all

A color so peaceful that may spread love within all

If it was not for color then what would race be?

If it was not for Religion what would identity be?

If it was not for society what would class be?

If it was not for God where would we be?

As humans we were made to stand out

As humans we were made to be different races

As humans we were made to be different sexes

And as humans we were made for one another

As Bobby Seale said, “You don't fight racism with racism,

the best way to fight racism is with solidarity”

Let us build a wall of acceptance and tolerance

Let us educate one another about our cultures and Religions

Let us learn to accept one another for our differences

Respect to all the homies that were activists, and lost their lives to the racists.

A Glimpse

As I sit here quietly while the leaves blow

  The sky is turning dark and I don't know where to go

  The rain hits my face and slowly drips to the floor 

  I sit there thinking where do I go? 

  People keep passing by me running away

  I pull out my Gutka and start doing my Nitnem 

  I sit there quietly reading and thinking about my Gurus

  Thinking about Guru Arjan Dev Ji and how he gave up his life on a hot plate

  Thinking about Guru Tegh Bhadhur Ji and how he was beheaded

  Thinking about our Sahibzade and how they were bricked alive 

  Thinking about all these sacrifices just for our Religion 

    If it were not for these Martyrs to whom would I look back? 

    It is now time to finally go eat but we have received news that the soldiers have entered

  I look back to see if my mom and sister are on the floor

  They seem like they have gone to sleep 

  I must tell them they must hide or else they will be found

  But, my dad grabs me by the arm and I don't even get a chance to say goodbye

  All I am told is that be prepared to fight

  Having no experience prior to this, I see my adrenaline rushing

  I have no clue what I am doing

  All I see is the Indian Army approaching

  I think about those Sikh Martyrs who were tortured death

  I think about those Sikh Martyrs who had that love for Sikhi and the Khalsa Panth

  I think about those Sikh Martyrs who were in love with Waheguru

  Then I look back and shout a Jakara, "Bole So Nihal!! Sat Sri Akal!!"

  Shots begin to fire and I see the tanks approaching

  These tanks that were greater than our whole force begin to fire.

  My dad keeps yelling to reload

  I am so distraught that all I can do is listen 

  But I know that this is not just for myself but also for the Khalsa Panth as a whole

  The army keeps getting closer and all I see is holes

  These holes start to multiply and I see the Akal Takht Start to fall apart

  I deviate my attention just for a second and all I hear is a gunshot to my dad's chest 

  He tells me, "son do not cry or else you will be here left to die.

You have to keep going for your mother and sister"

  Through anger and rage I begin to fire, all I see is my blood boiling 

  Now the commandos keep yelling they see a Sikh 

  They point towards my innocent face

  I begin to shake and tremble since I have run out of ammunition 

  I feel like there is no hope and I begin to recite Mool Mantar

  I can see that the Sarovar is now blood shot red

  People around me lie on the floor shot to death

  I think in my mind what did we do to deserve this? 

  But As I look back I get shot in the head.

A Drop

A liquid that flows from rivers, streams, and oceans.

A liquid that occupies 71% of the Earth’s surface.

A liquid that is tasteless, odorless, and transparent.

A liquid that one cannot live without for more than three days.

A liquid that makes up almost 60% of one’s body.

A small molecule that is made up of hydrogen and oxygen.

This molecule that is so precious and vital to one’s life.

This molecule that can easily drown one to death.

This molecule that one longs for everyday.

This molecule that makes people cry and scream.

This molecule that 1 out of 9 people lack clean access too.

This molecule that holds our destiny and faith.

Swimming in an Intoxicated Pool

Each and every human being in this world is unique.

From the way we look, to the state or country we reside in.

 Every human being originates from a different walk of life, with his or her own story.

This uniqueness is what leads to differences between the 7.1 billion people living today.

The reason due to these separations is very significant and apparent.

It is our surroundings, in which we swim in everyday, that account for this diversity.

Our surroundings include friends, family, parents, co-workers and even our Sangat.

Some of our surroundings may influence us in a negative way and others may do so in a positive way.

But who is to actually judge this positivity from negativity?

You got it RIGHT, our surroundings!

The same people we hang out with each and everyday, constantly partake in the same activities we do, constantly judge our actions, and influence us in a number of ways.

When I say “activities” these range from intoxicating oneself with drugs to simply going to watch a movie or even playing a video game.

This negativity comes from the in toxins we may consume to feel a “high”

Guru Arjan Dev Ji says,

ਲਖ ਘਾਟੀਂ ਊਂਚੌ ਘਨੋ ਚੰਚਲ ਚੀਤ ਬਿਹਾਲ ॥

Lakh Ghaatteen Oonacha Ghano Chanchal Cheeth Bihaal ||

Climbing thousands of steep hillsides, the fickle mind becomes miserable.

  It starts off as a high with just a few friends having a good time, to where it starts to lead to an addiction and the mind becomes miserable.

One can see today that 73.5% of Punjab's youth is addicted to drugs.

An increase in drug consumption is wiping out the population every second.

When we talk about environment, we tend to think of trees, grass, pollution, and etc.

We have activists all throughout the world trying to plant trees, clean the world, and to promote and eco-friendly environment.

But how many activists are there truly, who are trying to change addiction and reform drug use, to reciprocate longer lives?

Eco-friendly does not necessarily only mean to have a greener Earth, but It also means to have a healthier environment with “greener” people. 

This intoxicated pool that drug addicts around the world are swimming in, is only hurting the population even more!

It is our fellow brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, and friends drowning.

Where many people fail to understand is, we all have room for change and time to learn from our mistakes.

Each and every one of us is a Lotus Flower.

“The lotus flower is a pure white flower and the only plant to fruit and flower simultaneously. It emerges from the lowest point of the muddy swamp, growing from the mud at the bottom of ponds and streams”-Ask.com

Look at the humble, lowly mud, O Jamaal: the beautiful lotus grows in it. |

No matter environment the Lotus flower resides in, it tends to clean its surroundings.

So, why don’t we all become the Lotus flowers of this world and try to clean the intoxicated state of Punjab and this world today.

Change starts within and then slowly radiates out

This will only cause a chain reaction for the good.

Think about your surroundings next time and see if they are actually benefiting you.

The ultimate decision lies in our hands, so chose wisely!

Time: The Never Ending Stopwatch

Life is constantly moving at the speed of light; whether we realize it or not

  We are so caught up with our everyday obligations that sometimes we tend to neglect our parents, family, and most importantly our Gurbani

  How many times do we say that today we will do our Paath, today we will wake up at Amrit Vela, and today we will actually take Hukamnama??...

  But when it comes to our everyday obligations, without any hesitation we wake up no matter what time it may be to go to work, go to school, attend a party, or even go to that movie with our friends

  Why do we do this with no hesitation?!?!

  Because we see a reward such as money, knowledge, or a good time.

  Do we ever treat our Guru's Hukam and Gurbani in the same way as our everyday obligations?

  Majority of the time we don't...

    Kabeer Ji says,

  ਕਬੀਰਆਖੀਕੇਰੇਮਾਟੁਕੇਪਲੁਪਲੁਗਈਬਿਹਾਇ॥

  Kabeer Akhee Kaerae Mattukae Pal Pal Gee Bihae ||

  Kabeer, in the blink of an eye, moment by moment, life is passing by.

    ਮਨੁਜੰਜਾਲੁਨਛੋਡਈਜਮਦੀਆਦਮਾਮਾਆਇ॥੨੨੭॥

  Man Janjal N Shhoddee Jam Dheea Dhamama Ae ||227||

  The mortal does not give up his worldly entanglements; the Messenger of Death walks in and beats the drum. ||227||

  Life is passing by so quickly that death never awaits anyone.

  Why try to just be focused on these worldly entanglements Kabeer Ji says.

  Nothing will go with us in the end, only the Paath we have done, the Gurbani we have recited, and the Seva we do on a daily basis will make us get closer to Waheguru.

  Majority of the time we tend to go recite Gurbani when there is a moment of happiness or sadness in life.

  But when do we actually think about reciting Bani on a normal day when there is no occasion at all.

  We go to Sikh camps, Gurdwaras, and Keertans where we do Nitnem and recite our Banis, but do ever follow through, on an everyday basis?

  We aren't Guru Gonind Ji's Singhs and Singhnees for a day, or a week

  We are Singhs and Kaurs everyday of our lives 24/7

  Let us not wait to live and breathe Gurbani until death comes upon us.

  We have nothing to lose but so much to gain from our Gurbani!

  An average heart beats approximately 42 million times in a year and there are only 525,948 minutes in a year.

  So go do the math! If we just take about 45 minutes of our day to get closer to Waheguru, we will automatically see the benefits!

  Next time you think that it’s time you need Bani in your life, don't think twice, just go do it!

  This is just a thought and no one is perfect. Just remember even I am trying my best to be a better Sikh each and everyday. Once you feel that power within Gurbani there will never be a time you will ever be too busy or lazy.

  Just remember time will never wait for us, but ultimately it will beat us in the end.

Just a Thought

We live a life full of accomplishments, obstacles,and tragedies

  Our lives are so busy and complex that we are constantly trying to complete a task or achieve a dream

  But how many times do we just sit down and think of all these obstacles, accomplishments, and tragedies?

  Just think about how many times we have asked God to help us with these accomplishments and or guide us through these tragedies and obstacles

  Think about how many times we have not gone to God just to say thanks for keeping us alive today and allowing us to breathe

  We are so caught up in becoming this "amazing successful person" that sometimes we really do tend to forget the “small things” in life

  These “small things” in our minds we ultimately take them for granted

  One may wonder what these “small things” are?

  These “small things are hearing, eyesight, and the ability to walk and function properly

  Sometimes we just tend to overlook them and I am personally a victim of this

  If we did not have legs, we would not be able to even get up in the morning

  If we did not have hearing, we would not be able to hear our alarm

  If we did not have a heart, our blood would not be flowing

  And if our blood were not flowing, we would not be able to breathe

  Just take a second and think about this, appreciate the fact we are alive and healthy at this moment

  Appreciate the fact that we are privileged to be on the Internet and blessed with so many opportunities

  If it were not for the “small things” mentioned above, only God knows where we would be

  Lets not just turn to God only when we need to do well on an exam or get the next promotion at our job

  But lets go to God everyday to thank him for keeping us alive and healthy, everything he has helped us get through, and ask for forgiveness for any mistakes we have made along the way

  Life is not about just always asking for things, it's about giving back to the community and being generous

  So next time we go to God and ask him for something, just stop and take a minute to think about what we are doing

  God will always keep his people happy as long as we can just a take a second and remember his name

  Let us appreciate everything we have and hope the very best for each and every person out there

Seva, a two way street

“Seva” is a selfless service for the betterment of the community and with the intent to aid those in need.

We wake up every morning, thinking about what we should wear, eat, and do… though we don’t necessarily have malicious intentions, we might not exactly set out every day to do good for the world.

On a regular day, it’s not likely that we spend much time reflecting. I mean, how many times do we think back and just step in the shoes of our Shaheeds (Sikh Martyrs) and think about the Seva they did… for their faith, for their Panth, for us?

Let’s take a minute to just think about those sacrifices they made. If their sacrifices were not made, we would not be the Sikhs we are today.  In fact, we might not even exist.

When we think about Seva these days, we might picture ourselves helping out at Gurudwara, volunteering at a local hospital, tutoring kids, or something of that sort. Most of these actions, though, tend to benefit us in some way as well.

Sometimes the volunteer work looks good on our resume…sometimes we hope to have our sins washed away by serving Langar in Guru Ghar. I think it’s safe to say that pretty much all of us have been through this and we’ve sought some sort of good or benefit in return for our “Seva”.

But how many times do we actually do real Seva? That is, truly selfless service, from the heart without thinking of what we might receive in return?

It seems to me that 9 out of 10 times we do not think in that aspect.

Now let’s think back to our Shaheeds. What was it that they got out of their Seva? Did they know that their deeds and sacrifices would be remembered by the entire Sikh Panth in Ardaas? Did they seek that fame? Power? Credit?

Waheguru. They sought Waheguru in return. They sought to unite themselves with their Creator – they sought something greater than themselves; they sought something for their soul, not for their ego.

Our Shaheeds lived their life in a certain detachment. Away from the world, yet so passionately within it. You might ask, if they were so detached, why did they care so much about justice, faith, religion…?

Well, our Shaheeds were attached to one thing: Waheguru. And when that love for him was manifested inside themselves, they could feel that presence of Waheguru within everyone  surrouding them.

Once that love for Waheguru can be established, one is able to conduct true Seva – that which is in service to the One Himself. By serving humanity, and by serving the Sikh Panth, with their lives, our Shaheeds exemplified selfless service. They taught us not only how to die, but how to live!

So, how can this love be established? Guru Sahib tells us: establish the relationship with Waheguru through Bani from the Guru Granth Sahib Ji. As we read, we come to understand what our Guru has told us to follow.

No one is perfect; no one can establish that love in a day and in fact, some may never develop it. But the choice is ours to try. The choice is ours, which direction will we walk in? To go on the path that Guru Sahib laid out for us is difficult, sharper than a sword & thinner than a strand of hair… it will require patience and dedication.

But then we may look at the alternative; other paths may lead us no where at all.  Slowly understanding what our Gurus are really trying to tell us is the first step… perhaps by developing a relationship with Guru Sahib, we can try to catch just a glimpse of what our Shaheeds felt. Maybe we can catch just a glimpse of their love, their faith, their strength. Just maybe.

Too Strong to be Below

  We come out of our mother’s womb, innocent and naïve

without having any prior knowledge besides the sounds we have heard for the past 9 months.

We see light, a light so bright that it scares us and we either start to cry or laugh.

Each and everyone of us has a different reaction.

Through time and experience we start to age and gain more knowledge about the real world.

We have our ups and downs, where we may fall, but regardless we never fail to get back up again!

But we are still sheltered under our parent’s homes from grades K-12.

When I say shelter we are still in a bubble, such as a womb, where most of our actions and decisions are driven by what our parents think.

When one reaches the point they are ready to go to college, this bubble bursts!

This is when reality hits and we are no longer kids anymore.

Our parents aren’t there to tell us when to go to bed, when to be home or when to finish our homework.

We then have to make our own decisions and do what feel will be the best for us.

There will be many instances where your friends will be like:  

"Try one," "This is so cool!" "C'mon, it's no big deal..." 


In a matter of seconds, you could make a decision that could affect the rest of your life.

Whether it is drugs, alcohol, etc., our surroundings play a critical role in our lives

But as humans we are too strong to be below and always above the peer pressure.

We are who we chose to be and it is our job to stand up for ourselves and make the right decisions

So next time one pressures you to do something you believe is not right, you always have the option of making the right choice and say no!

Choose your surroundings well and pick the people who will support your decisions and who will keep you on the right path.

Sometimes its better to stand out than fit in!

Be yourself! Be Confident! Make a difference!

Less Hate More Love

We live in a world full of all types of religions, races, and people.


Whether it be in the workplace, public places, or schools we all associate with people.


When I say people I mean the human race in general.


As one human race we might have many differences in appearance or what we believe in, but this shouldn't divide us in any shape or form.


We are all on the path to make a difference in positive ways, not divide America!

As George Moore quotes, “After all, there is but one race: humanity.”

Through hate and sorrow Sikhs keep their heads high and with pride invite each and every one to their home, the Gurdwara.

By holding vigils we are spreading awareness of who Sikhs are and what we believe in.

We want to make America aware that Sikhs are apart of the community and trying fulfill the American dream and raise their families, just like everyone else living in the country.

We are all united in a way where we can all relate to one another.

So in this time of sorrow, we should all have less hate and more love for our brothers and sisters.


Let's go out and support our local Gurdwaras by helping organize a Vigil, Keertan, or Langar on behalf of all the people that have lost their lives in the Oak Creek tragedy in Wisconsin.


As one human race we can make a change and show the world that united we will stand.


No matter how many times we are pushed down, we will get up even stronger to show the world who Sikhs really are.

Showering Yourself Within

Each and everyday we wake up, take a shower, get dressed and finally check ourselves out in the mirror Who is this person we see? This external image we see of ourselves Is this the person who we want to be or are we forced to look this way? There is only one answer and that is located inside our hearts and minds Many people wonder who we really are in the inside and what we believe in, but no one can actually see inside of us We sometimes put on a act on the outside to either impress or fit in with others Only we know what may be going on inside of us but people can surely judge us by our external appearance But in the end it is who we are in the inside is that counts In Gurbani it is mentioned: “Baaharahu niraml jeehu th milae thinee janam jooai haaria” Those who are outwardly pure and yet polluted within, lose their lives in the gamble The only way we can solve this problem is first by being honest Honest to ourselves, the people around us, and Waheuguru(God) Second we need to recognize the human race as one and hope the best for everyone regardless of race, color, creed, or gender Third we should try to embrace Sikhi and the Bani wrriten by our Gurus; from there we can search for answers which can guide us to the right path “Baaharahu th nirmal jeeahu nirmal sathigur thae karanee kamaanee” Those who are outwardly pure and also pure within, through the Guru, perform good deeds So lets all try to shower ourselves within rather than spending countless hours and money trying to look the best on the outside At the end of the day it is who we are in the inside that makes us a well-rounded person, not how beautiful one is but intially their personality and values Remember we are all beautiful no matter what -theweakWILLrise

Standing Out That Shit Cray

We are all brought into this world with a clean slate and an open mind

But as soon as we enter the world we are given an identity from a name to even what Religion we will follow

We do not have an option to decide anything since we cannot talk

So everything we see our family and siblings do becomes a part of our everyday life 

As a Sikh we are given the 5k's and an identity, which makes us standout

Growing up some children areforced to follow a religion and others are not depending upon their circumstances

It all depends upon one's parents, friends, family, and Sangat if one feels that power within Sikhi

Many people decide to choose to go the other way since they do not look like others around them 

They feel a need to fit in so others can like them or maybe even feel popular

But I feel like that is not the true way to go as a Sikh

As Sikhs we need be leaders and not followers

We need to standout with our long beards, turbans, and our Khakars given to us by our Gurus

Why chose a route where you look like millions of other people around you?

In school many kids have problems since they are always the outcast, but it is our job to standup for Sikhi and explain to others what we believe in

Once we explain to others why we keep a beard or why we wear a turban, I am sure they will have a greater appreciation for you

Sometimes we may get discouraged if someone calls us a few names or tries to touch our turban, but we should just use this as a battlefield where every time you get wounded you get back up even stronger!

When Baba Deep Singh Ji fought with his head in his hand, "long flowing beard as white as snow and battle turban bluer than the river flow"-Inkquisitive

No one could ever stop this man or his path since he was strong and was not scared of the way he stood out amongst a crowd

Even James Harden isn't scared to have a beard and millions of people worldwide love it chanting, "Fear the Beard!"

If people can fear his beard and love it, this only shows how much stronger Sikhs are with their beards and turbans.

As they always say why try to fit in when you were born to standout!

Let's embrace our identity given to us and try not to fit in with others! 

Because you will realize that people will like you for who you are and your personality, not the way you look!

One can try to fit in as much as they want but in the end if you are original you will be one of a kind.

Speech For Daarji

  First and for most I would like to thank all of the Sadh Sangat for coming to support my family and helping my parents out. Also a thanks to my Nani, Mami, Mama, Masi’s and all the cousins that helped our family. As you all know, we are here today for my Daarji’s Keertan. At home we would call him Daarji but his real name was Major Inderjit Singh Sawhney. He was a man of great power and strength who was a role model for all. He came from a very prestigious family where his great grandfather was Captain Jawala Singh who fought in Hari Singh Nalwa’s army. Daarji himself served in the army as well in World War II and alongside General Shabegh Singh in Bangladesh. There was not a single day where this man would go by not helping others or making life easier for his family. As a child I would remember him always taking me to Wendy’s on his daily walks. Whether I went with him or not, he would find a way to sneak me Wendy’s to make me happy regardless of what my mom would say. On these walks he would always get dressed as if he were going to a formal event. I would always ask him, “Daarji why are you wearing a suit, we are only going to Wendy’s?” But then I realized he had always been dressing up from a very small age and it was apart of his everyday lifestyle. Wherever he went he had a name for himself and people loved him for who he was. He did not ever spend a single dime or penny himself and was always about giving to others whether it was donating Jalebis at every Sangrandh at the local Gurdwara or doing Langaars for the poor, he always found a way to help others. Till two weeks ago I remember him saying on the phone, “Beta God Bless you and keep studying”. His dream was for me to become a doctor and it is now my goal to honor him. Now I’ve written a short poem entitled Life is full of Surprises:

  No one can say where life will take them or what's going to come their way

All we know is that there is a beginning and an end 

So how long is this path really? 

A path so mysterious that no one can map

A path full of ups and downs that even the strongest can collapse

The main question is, how long will one last on this path?

There's only one answer, it's already been written for you in a hidden map

A hidden map held by Waheguru somewhere so far away that it is only an image in our imagination 

How can one find that hidden map? 

That map so exclusive that only Waheguru has

The answer is by staying true to our faith and religion

END POEM

  Each and everyday we are all striving to accomplish one goal, whether it be completing our education, making enough money to support our family or etc. Our lives are so busy that sometimes we get caught up in trying to make tons of money and sometimes forget that, no one in the end is going to remember how much money one has or how many cars they have. What one is going to remember is the legacy the person has left behind and how they have impacted other’s lives in a positive way. Now, in this society we live in, death is a very hard thing to cope with. Especially when we lose loved ones. My bro Harjiv Singh told me, “But I don’t know, after someone passes, don’t we say things like, “He’s with Waheguru now” or “He’s in a better place now?” And, don’t we live a life trying to get closer to god? Isnt it a good thing? to die…” I believe Waheguru only takes the best of the best and one can reach his or her best at any point in their life. So next time one passes away let’s just do Ardass for them and be thankful they have gone to a better place.

A Woman With Pride

Women everyday are constantly trying to change their appearance in some way

Each day we see girls either cutting their hair, getting plastic surgery, going anorexic, etc.

Why do they do this?

Just to impress us guys and because some guy has either called them ugly or fat

What most guys fail to realize is that finding a girl who's a model isn't as important as finding a girl with an amazing heart and personality

I give my upmost respect to Amritdhari girls

They're so brave and fearless that they have the courage to stand up for who they are

They don't care if they don't shave or cut their hair 

To tell you the truth I feel like their strength makes them glow

I'm not saying that if a girl isn't Amritdhari their any less, but every girl should learn to be confident and not have to change their appearance for another

As Audrey Hepburn says, "The beauty of a woman is not in a facial 

mode but the true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. 

It is the caring that she lovingly gives the passion that she shows. 

The beauty of a woman grows with the passing years".

It is important to be yourself and always know that you are not less than any man and never let anyone everput you down 

By being confident with yourself you can show others that same quality and tell them to embrace it with pride

So next time someone calls you ugly or fat just listen through one ear and let it out the other cause in your mind you know you are beautiful no matter what!
