  𝓗ayate gestured for the young girl to follow him. It would be wise for her to come along with him instead of staying by herself. He knew that other students, and older ones, would prey upon such a cheery demeanour, leaving practically nothing left. Regardless, she was merely an observer for the time being, from what she'd said. The man started to lead the way to the elevator, where they could ride up to the floor where the Hokage was waiting for the exams to begin. ❝Did you get dropped off here or somehow managed to make it through the forest with the others?❞

Wendy followed quickly after him, hands still placed behind her back as she walked. Was she nervous? Just a tad, but she knew that Lord Third knew. Kakashi knew. She shouldn't have anything to worry about, and yet the child couldn't help but worry anyway. That was just how she was. Nevertheless, she kept all of those feelings to herself. She grounded herself by taking a few quiet deep breaths as she continued to walk.

"Hm?" She managed to catch the question posed to her before she managed to travel off to worry daydream central. "Oh, I was dropped off by Kakashi." Wendy answers the older man, "He made sure I got here safely, I assure you."

"That's quite right, however, it's easier said than done," Wendy said solemnly, as she picked up the pen. She gently teeter tottered the pen in her fingers, staring at the notebook paper in front of her.

"The idea is there...the story is there..." She turned to look back at the other, "And yet, I haven't the slightest clue of HOW to start."

Was it creative block? Was she just tired? Wendy hadn't the clue at the moment in time. All she knew right now, was that she was stumped when it came to writing a new story, about a certain boy, who wouldn't grow up.

Wendy was pained too to find that the past year was but as yesterday to Peter; it had seemed such a long year of waiting to her…

Next year he did not come for her. She waited in a new frock because the old one simply would not meet, but he never came…

Peter came next spring cleaning; and the strange thing was that he never knew he had missed a year.

That was the last time the girl Wendy ever saw him. For a little longer she tried for his sake not to have growing pains; and she felt she was untrue to him when she got a prize for general knowledge. But the years came and went without bringing the careless boy; and when they met again Wendy was a married woman, and Peter was no more to her than a little dust in the box in which she had kept her toys. Wendy was grown up. You need not be sorry for her. She was one of the kind that likes to grow up. In the end she grew up of her own free will a day quicker than other girls.

feeling kind of art blocked recently so I went back to my roots

the Page of Swords isn't the first tarot card that leaps to mind when I think of Wendy but I think it fits her enough. It represents curiosity, new ideas, passion, and enthusiasm, and would actually be a perfect card for Alice now that I think about it. This was entirely just an excuse to draw Wendy with a sword to be tbh.
