🕯️⛈️ 𓈒 your carer comforts you during a thunderstorm.

it was just past 2 o'clock in the morning when purple-white lightning illuminated your bedroom walls. you awoke in a panic, your little heart beating out of your chest. you quickly hid under your blanket, listening to the rain pounding against the windows, while dime-sized hail threatened to shatter the glass. not being able to stand it any longer, you jumped out of bed and ran to the living room. to your surprise — and immediate relief — your carer was up too, sitting in their recliner drinking tea out of a mug you made for them at school.

“hey kiddo, the storm wake you up too? it's gonna be okay, come sit with [title]. i'll protect you.”

without hesitation, you shuffled your way over to them, careful not to trip on your blankie, wrapped around you tightly like a cape. your carer scooped you up and brought you into their lap, holding your face close to their chest and reassuring you of your safety. the warmth of their gentle words whispered into your hair and body heat soothed you almost instantly.

“i'm scared, [title].”

you said it so quietly that you weren't sure if your carer could even hear it, but as with all things, they did.

“i know sweetheart. you know what? when the thunder woke me up, i was scared too. my heart was beat-beat-beating just like yours is now. but you feel better now, sitting here with [title], don't you?”

you nodded: earnestly, gratefully, truthfully. you did feel better, a 100x better, curled up in your carer's arms.

“i do too baby, i feel so much better having you here to keep me safe. we'll always protect each other, isn't that right?”

you nodded again and tightly wrapped your arms around theirs. they tipped their mug bottoms-up, cleared their throat, and patted your back with an exciting finality, like they had something fun planned.

“well, [title]'s all outta tea and i'm prettttyy sure i heard someone's tummy growl... would my kiddo be up for a midnight snack, hm?”

you and your carer spent the night cooking simple treats, watching old kid's movies, and playing board games. when the storm inevitably knocked the power out, you helped them light all the candles you could find, and they taught you how to make shadow puppets using flashlights and some thin blankets you had tucked away in your closet.

during all the fun, you never realized you had forgotten all about the storm that had you shaking hours before, even though the thunder was no quieter, the rain nor hail any lighter, the lightning no dimmer. you were safe and warm and loved, and that was all that mattered.

Caregiver! Kinger (+ headcanons)

- Kinger is the most comforting, nurturing and kind-hearted caregiver you could ask for! Always ready to listen or give advice, he chooses his words carefully and precisely.

- I headcanon him as giving off a very nostalgic, caring, parental vibe. Having him as your caregiver makes you feel the same way you did when you used to wake up at Grandma's house or go to your favorite park. He is pure childhood enjoyment and comfort, like hugging your baby blanket years later.

- He loves to read stories to you, listen to you ramble, doodle with you, build pillow forts, and create all types of fun crafts.

- Kinger enjoys being a caregiver and it gives him a sense of purpose. He feels smart and important when he realizes people rely on him. He is naturally, to his core, a very non-judgemental person. He has advice for any situation and will never judge, be crude, ridicule you, or laugh at you.

- He is super stocked up on all types of snacks. In his endless pockets, he pulls out toys, pacifiers, crayons, notebooks, etc. when you are particularly cranky.

- He always knows how to calm you down. Whatever you are going through, Kinger has the ability to calm your nerves.

- I also think he wouldn't understand age regression or even label it as that. Not in a bad way, I just think he'd view it as you slipping into a different headspace, similar to how he does.

-If you're scared of the dark he will make you laugh by holding his breath and lighting up the room. He tells you to count how long he can hold his breath, trying to distract you and ease your anxiety. You always mess up counting, though, and it takes everything in him not to giggle.

- Kinger thinks you're the cutest baby ever and is always nice and always sweet and he never yells or gets angry.

Warning Scam messages

I just got messaged through an ask about "something important" and despite asking for clarification before DMing them through asks, the only information they gave me was that it was about my account.

Apparently this is a new scam where accounts that look like real users (maybe even stolen or hacked accounts) saying that they "accidentally" reported you and that you need to quickly reach out to Tumblr's Discord support to fix it.

They provided a screenshot of a supposed report that essentially says "The account you reported will be deleted in 24 hours if an appeal is not made"

This is not real, this someone trying to steal your account. There is no Discord support, (Why would you go through Discord for an issue on Tumblr?) There is support system on Tumblr already.

Do not panic over the 24 hour "mark for deletion" Tumblr would have messaged you first about this before whoever it is that "accidentally reported you" This site may be in shambles but it isn't falling apart that much that there isn't an appeal system.

I know I don't have many followers but it's important to be aware of things like this because I certainly didn't know about it until I looked up the "Discord Support system" and got three posts talking about the scam.

Caregiver Knight who would do anything to protect his tinny and make sure you are safe and warm. They’ll often take you on walks in the forest, and teach you to fight with wooden swords. They’ll help you learn what wild fruit you can and cannot eat, and what mushrooms you should try to eat either. They’ll make sure to always pack a lunch (even when you say you are not hungry), they’ll have a small bag full of fruits, bread, cheese, and your favourite medieval food!

— The quietest little you could probably ever meet, not because she’s overly shy or sensitive, but simply because she likes it that way. Although she’s not always quiet, it is still quite calming to just sit in company of her caregiver without a need to explain anything

— Very small age range, a baby regressor then a 3-4 year old! Gentle and tiny and any game played is one that isn’t quite overwhelming to her, so Marta likes that and on occasion regresses bigger but it’s a bit rare!

— Blanc becomes her caregiver for the time he spends with the thrombeys and then some! But it essentially starts there while she’s being his ‘Watson’ around the house, the investigation is enough stress to make her slip a bit and he takes her under his wing a little!!

— Gets overwhelmed extremely easily, even just by one person yelling, sure she’s been around it so often but that doesn’t mean she likes it, especially after the case is wrapped up. Blanc speaks to her gently when she feels like the world is unbearably loud, and they go somewhere else to calm down.

— Marta is the sweetest little ever, caring even when she’s feeling small just like how she is when she’s big. Loves to try and hand whoever’s watching her whatever they need when they even barely express they want it, ends up with a lot of silly things in her hands before someone takes it.
