I went to the NYFF premiere of "A House of Dynamite"!
It was my birthday weekend and I lucked out and got tickets at the last minute. I had no idea if Anthony was going to be there, as he wasn't listed on the Q&A after the film. Idris and Rebecca dropped out of the Q&A last minute (which lowkey is how I likely got tickets) so I wasn't expecting to see really anyone. But I knew Anthony was in town because they did some press in NYC the day prior.
To my surprise, the red (well it was green) carpet was literally 20 feet from where we lined up to get into the theater, and who strolls onto the carpet as I got closer to get in:
I like to think we briefly made eye contact (or he remembered me from a few other times I camped out near barricades to see him and thought I was a stalker🫣) but I was like 20 people from him-what do yall think?
The director introduced the cast (you can spot Renee as well), and she called him "RAY-MOS" to which I almost screamed "that is not how you pronounce it!" but then Anthony appeared. Even after she butchered his name, Anthony shouted "give it up for Kathryn Bigalow" as he left stage- it was a very Anthony Ramos Moment!
As you know by now, Anthony was in the movie for .005 seconds (and thus cannot be blamed for how bad it was), so I will spare you my review (but that is it, that is the review😂).
I stayed for the Q&A and hoped Anthony would show up, but we just got these people:
I'm sure they have names and important roles but I did not care and was mad that instead of being here, Anthony was partying with the cast and Glen Powell in the building next door. (Not saying it would save the film, but maybe it would encouraged nicer critic reviews, just saying). Sorry my photos are bad, I'm still rocking an iphone 13.
Anywho, next up, I owe Milly's a visit (hopefully this weekend while Anthony is out of town, because I don't want this man to think I stalk him---well I kinda do, but he doesn't need to know that😉).
