Author’s Note: The expansion of the drabble I posted here. It’s more emotionally heavy than the episode, Jeller-wise - probably getting into 2x17-ish territory, or thereabouts - but hey. Canon, what canon? (Except that there’s too much canon, at least re: Kurt/Nas.) It took me a few days longer than I thought to finish, so sorry it’s late.

This was a nightmare.

 Last week, Jane had dreamed of being back in this apartment—happy, safe, and loved. She’d been helping in the kitchen while Kurt put the finishing touches on dessert. She’d kissed fruit syrup from his lips and smiled, and then Roman had joined them for dinner, and everything had been perfect—up until Remi had appeared, turning the dream into a full-blown night terror. The darker version of herself had overpowered her, stabbing her to death on the same table she’d just been sitting at, enjoying dinner.

Being here now, for the first time since before Oscar’s betrayal… It felt surreal. Everywhere, people talked and laughed. Jane only recognised a few of them from the NYO—she assumed the remainder were Allie’s friends and family.

Hi I was wondering if you could write a hurt/comfort fic dealing with season 2 about Jane finding out Allie is was pregnant. I would love to read the conversation would gone. I would love to read about the end of the baby shower episode where he says he’d miss her. Because at the time she felt that nobody would. Kurt stood up, frowning. “Be right back.”

He found Jane at the elevator. “Hey. Not staying for cake?”

Jane gave a forced smile. “Uh, no. I’m just gonna go.Congratulations, though.”

“If you wanna talk—”

The elevator arrived, and Jane stepped inside. “I’m fine. Goback inside. The mother of your child and your girlfriend are both waiting foryou.”

Kurt stood in the empty hallway for a long moment, realisingfor the first time just how badly he’d screwed this up.
