@huntersxandxfriends sent in: “There’s something so familiar about you.” (Max)
“Who, me?” Iris giggled, giving a faint smile. There was a small...warm whisper at the back of her neck, something that deep down told her, yes, this stranger was familiar to her, too.
“Have you come to the Faire before?” she asked curiously as she began shuffling her tarot cards.
( @huntersxandxfriends)
“Well...” Her voice trailed off as she grinned teasingly, holding her cards up and fanned out, peering her eyes over the top of them micheviously. It was a ploy she used to try and lure customers in who were undecided. “Do you have a question for the cards?” Iris asked, lowering the cards, never breaking eye contact as she shuffled the cards with a little more flourish.
“I’ll tell you what: Since this is your first time at the Faire, and you’re my last customer before my break...this one is on the house,” the redhead added after a moment.

Another day at the Mystical Arcana. It was a lovely shop. It could be a little crazy during the breakfast crowd and right before closing, Iris loved working there. She enjoyed the smell of coffees and tea, and dear god when they got fresh pumpkin bread in the fall? Simply divine!
But it could get a little too quiet, especially when she had to work by herself. A little too lonely… Like right now.
She hadn’t had a customer in the past hour, and Iris already wiped down the display case again for the pastries, re-arranged the book displays they had, and even managed to wash all the dishes. Still bored, she began doodling on the chalkboard that had their drink selection, humming to herself, trying to pass the time.
It was his first day in town and he wasn’t quite sure where he was. He stared at his cell phone, following the navigation directions, but when he looked up he was glad he found the right place. He glanced inside through the glass, and seeing that there were no crowds, entered the cafe. He looked around. It was clean and tidy here, and it bode well.
He walked over to the counter, smiling charmingly. “Good morning. A friend recommended this cafe to me, saying that you have the best coffee in the whole city. I would like to find out if it’s true.” He announced looking at her for a moment, then looked at the choice of drinking.
“Would you recommend me something?” He asked.
Important announcement!

@huntersxandxfriends sent in: “Give me the knife.” (Dean)
Iris paused for a moment, holding the dagger in hand, unsure if she should trust the hunter or not. Slowly, she stood up, her eyes never tearing away from him, and she held out the dagger to him, hilt side verse, only her gloved index finger and thumb holding onto the blade.
( @huntersxandxfriends)
“I don’t suppose you’d believe if I said the Easter Bunny, would you?” Iris joked with a sheepish, almost nervous grin. However, at seeing Dean’s stance and expression, she stopped kidding, her smile fading, a look of concerned, carefulness to her eyes. “It’s an old family heirloom,” she answered.
It was technically not a lie.
...It just wasn’t her family’s old heirloom...

reblog this if you actually like following me.
It’s recommended to listen the in-game music Kevin MacLeod - Ryno s Theme while reading. The text of Julian’s confesion belong to the Arcana game. Though I cut it a bit to fit the art.
Full size can be found on my DA page.
Muses are fickle. Reblog if you understand that your partner’s muse can sometimes wonder off for a while, but that you will still be willing to write with them when they come back.
I’m wholeheartedly on board with the head canon that Asra and Howl met during their travel and became instant best buddies and handsome powerful magician bros.
fake!married is the best trope and i never tire of it no matter how many are written and how badly they end up being. undercover!married is even better. “we have to lull our adversary into complacency by being as MARRIED AS POSSIBLE.”
accidental, unconscious domesticity and gradual cohabiting more like SIGN ME UP. sign me up for a lifetime membership, even. put it on my damn will. bury me in a casket full of fake!married fanfic.
