Welcome to my Casualty Sideblog!

Hi, I’m Mercury, I use she/they pronouns and I’m 21 years old. I am transitofmercury on everything else, including AO3, Dreamwidth and my main blog.

⋆ This blog is mainly about Teddy Gowan and Sandra Mute, my beloved tragic paramedics, so they make up the majority of my posts. Some of my other beloveds include: Indie Jankowski, Sah Brockner, Liz Harker, the paramedics pretty generally, and honestly most of the S1/S2 cast but especially Baz and Duffy! Otherwise, I probably post about Classic Casualty as much as Current Casualty these days.

⋆ If you send me a message or an ask or reply to one of my posts, I will try to respond. I absolutely love talking about Casualty with anyone who will listen and I love hearing what other people think about it - I just might take a while to reply sometimes (or come across awkward). Pleaaaase talk to me about my/your faves!! If I seem especially offline I’m probably just busy with uni stuff.

⋆ My first proper fandom (I was lurking in other fandoms for years) was the Holby City fandom! About 9 years ago I made my first Tumblr blog for it. But I was 12 and... well, I can't say now-me and 12-year-old-me would agree on much, so that blog is very much dead.

when I make up ocs for my future casualty I do the same thing I used to do when I’d play the sims as a kid where I forget that they don’t all have to be women and every time i am like “hmmm needs more people to do this job” i add another woman so mercury’s future holby seems to almost exclusively employ women and also because it’s casualty and there needs to be romance drama they all end up being sapphic because how else are we gonna get the romance drama?

I might be a little insufferable again for a few days, this blog witnessed the entire degree including that part where I had a crisis and convinced myself I should drop out a week before I started final year last September, and I’d be celebrating under my actual name and face but posting online as Katie rather than Mercury fills me with anxiety and I’m kind of trying to appear to have gone missing to everyone who knew me in real life before 2023 (not because of anything wrong with them or pre-2023 me, I just don’t wish for them to perceive me ever again… I’m aware this sounds kinda fucking weird), but also obviously I do want to party about this because I fully believed I could not do it and that I should not attempt to at the start of this year and now I have done it and done it really well!!!!! so like, if I keep going on about it for a couple days, just ignore that I am partying here :)
