Storylines enrage me

Ao3 Currently having sleep paralysis over the entire Miraculous storyline AND timeline. Chat Blanc, catacylsm them.

john wick 3 ignited an idea in my mind and my anthropologist urges yearn for a kwami lore building/nomadic(ish, probably more guardian training) marinette trying to learn How To Guardian 101 but also add ladrien and angst about The Big Lie (i am a ladrien truther i need more of them)

you know like that guy in the desert above the high table and stuff vibes

all this to say i have all the kwami species and names down (only 12 don't have concepts applied to them yet gulp)

lovingly, no spoilers for Spiderman Brand New Day, but since I saw it last night I'm going to share some "funny, haha this just the miraculous plotline but written well":

-Characrer A telling Character B it's not their decision to make choices for withholding knowledge from someone

-Character C being possessed and lying about loss of memory, Character B finds out about being lied to and gets suspicious of Character C

-Whatever opposite parallel Marinette and Peter have going on with "a lot of people are learning my identity but I'm still isolating myself" and "no one knows my identity and I'm isolating myself" respectively

im ranting about the miraculous timeline again because it's pissing me off but i need to base my fic timelines off of SOMETHING cohesive and,,,

"Heroes Day" (season 2) happens an exact year after Ladybug and Chat Noir's first appearance, right? It says anniversary (applying annual) but okay, hey, maybe I can just make it a 6-month anniversary type thing* because "The Kwamis' Choice" (season 5) blatantly states that the entirety of the past 5 seasons all happen in 286 days (9 months, 12 days). This is based on Adrien first starting school (which would be September 2nd, 2015. Remember, he was caught by Nathalie the first day and Origins and yada yada).

But??? It can't. Because Dark Cupid (season 1) happens February 14th, 2016 (since the show starts on the first day of school, which is September 1st for 2015), and Dearest Family (season 4) happens on January 6th (which, at best would have to be in 2017*).

I have a whole opinion over Astruc's... declaration about not canonizing any strict ages for the characters (or birthdays for that matter). But. It's.

I'm upset. I'm still going to do this stupid timeline, and scrunch as much of it as I can, but so far, there is no physical, possible way that seasons 1-5 are not within 2015-2018.

Don't even get me started on the Darkblade stuff and the mayoral elections for Paris NOT EVEN HAPPENING IN 2016 (they occur in 2014 and 2020, but... okay i'll stop nitpicking)

*Having Heroes Day on March 1st, 2016 (6 months after Sept. 1st, 2015) also isn't possible because of Darkblade, since HD occurs around Mayoral elections which, based off of 2014 and 2020's dates, are March 23rd and 15th respectively, and Heroes Day is explicitly occurring after these elections so we can't write the parade off as Bourgeois trying to use the hype to help him get reelected. *Note: Chat Blanc happens on May 2nd, because Marinette's all over the St. Athansius day, and since Heroes Day (Sept. 1st, 2016) precedes this event, it would have to be on May 2nd, 2017. So, really, Dearest Family would have to happen on 2018's January 6th.

EDIT: GOOD NEWS!!! "Revelation" (season 5) confirms two weeks left of the school year (and assuming it's in 2018), puts that episode happening on June 17th, 2018 (school year ends in Paris on July 1st). "Action" (season 5) CONFIRMS IT'S JUNE!!! AND THERE'S A HEATWAVE TOO!!! AND THERE WAS ALSO A HEATWAVE!!! IN PARIS!!! FOR 2018!!!

EDIT2: NEVER MIND. Apparently there's another mayoral election in "Revolution" (season 5). Which. makes no sense for either timeline. It's only been 3 months in the 'shows' timeline and only 2 years for mine. dawg. it's a 6 year term (i mean, i guess unless they can remove Bourgeois forcefully? i'll need to read up on mayor stuff later but for right now im)

obviously, each chapter's dialogue and tone is different from my notes, usually they're just there to make sure I remember where I want the chapter to end off at/focus on. sometimes notes get moved around, like the akuma spotted leaving the manor was moved to chapter 23 lol

fortunately my in the heat of the moment cryptid fic has been the one to give extra momentum for the chat blanc fic and chapter 3 is over half way written at around 9k words. unfortunately, i have no idea what im doing with the cryptid fic because alya keeps stealing my keyboard so. im not sure how it will end or if it'll even be a climatic read or antyhing,,, i think i need to put the characters on some probation
