Billy was next in line but he simply stepped behind the booth to stand next to his aunt while the the man behind him eagerly stepped forward to get his kiss "You're very brave. And popular. I had to stand in line for ten minutes to get here."

“What kind of boyfriend deprives his boyfriend from such an experience? I need story worthy material and your first lesson would probably end up being a good one. Hey! That letter better have included my name in it as well. You’re not allowed to be an Avenger without me. It’s rule number ten in the Superhero Boyfriends Handbook.” Teddy grinned, now that he’d gotten a kiss from Billy. “I hate you! We agreed never to talk about that again!” He laughed, aiming a poke at Billy’s burn to get back at him. “I don’t even know why I put up with you.” He mumbled trying to suppress his grin.

"There’s a line we cannot cross. You watching me making a fool of myself would be worse than us peeing in front of each other or something like that. Do you think I would ever be an Avenger without you? Of course not. We’re a package deal, silly. That applies if one of us decides to be a supervillain, the other has to be their loyal partner. Like Mr. Burns and Smithers or Pinky and The Brain.” Billy shrugged and gently slapped Teddy’s hand away “Sorry, I can’t ever let that go. It’s too good.”

“You could do both, they have martial arts classes at the gym I go to. You could just sign up, I’ll even join with you if you don’t want to do it on your own. Who knows? It could be fun. True, but just you wait. They’re gonna need back up one day and when he help out they’re gonna realize that we might as well be on the team already.” He pouted as Billy moved away from him, but kept his hands by his side. “I know, I know, but like I said I don’t mind it at all. It was just a suggestion in case you, personally, didn’t want it. And to think that they were so worried that you’d take advantage of your powers.”

“That would be great. I mean, signing up for the martial arts. Alone. I don’t want you to be there to watch me make a fool of myself. I hope you’re right. I’ve been wanting to be an avenger my whole life and I’m starting to think it’s not gonna happen. I even sent them a recommendation letter I asked Scarlet mom to write and nothing.” Billy puckered his lips and gave his boyfriend a quick kiss before pulling away again “Well I did make a charming, dreamy boyfriend from scratch so they weren’t wrong to worry,” he said nonchalantly, bursting into laughter after a few seconds “Sorry babe, I couldn’t help myself.”

“Sorry babe, unless you suddenly gain fifty pounds of muscle to back it up you’re just going to look like a puppy trying growl for the first time. Aww, don’t say that! We’re practically Avengers already with how many times we’ve helped them out during sticky situations. I definitely consider us honorary Avengers, at least.” He paused to move closer to Billy so he could get a better look at the burn. “Maybe you could make it go away with magic, not that I mind it. Scars are kinda sexy.” He finished, tentatively touching it with his finger.

“I should start going to the gym with you, or maybe I could learn to fight. You’ve seen me growl before, though. I’ve mastered it. I’m like a lion now. That doesn't count. Half of the world has had to help the Avengers.” Billy flinched at the touch and moved away from Teddy. “It hurts, babe. I know magic could fix it but I don’t wanna get too dependent, you know? Bruises are part of life. I can’t cheat life with magic all the time. Sometimes bad stuff happen and it wouldn’t be fair if I cast a spell to make it go away. I’m blessed with a lot of good in my life, like you and the team, so it’s only fair I deal with the bad, too.”

“Really? Damn it. I was aiming for an intimidating look. You know, the one super villains get when they’re plotting something against us. Well, it’s nothing-- I was on my way to work today and I saw this woman getting mugged and I thought I’d help but the guy was actually a mutant and he burned me and now my stomach is sore and the burn is probably gonna leave a scar. But, that’s not even the problem, it’s just that I’ll never be an avenger if I can’t even stop a street mugger, you know?”
