Home for the next week and a half.
Post Westie pickup and orientation, we kicked off our week of #vanlife and met up with E, my bud from middle school and beyond, for some bayside oysters at Taylor Shellfish in Bow, WA. FYI, the hairpin curve and one lane drive entrance is NO JOKE in a manual transmission Westfalia without power steering and a finicky clutch.
Seattle incoming! We then navigated the concrete garage Uber corral, mistook 3 white Priuses (what is the plural of Prius??) before finally finding the right one, which then dropped us off at the wrong location for BOLT Bus. We then walked in circles trying to find the bus station before we eventually realized the “station” is just a sign on a post. Also, the bus bathroom locked itself and only the outlets on the right side of the bus were working. But hey, not bad for $2/person (round trip).
Observation Point Zion National Park Utah
Note to self - be sure to check when Utah kids are on spring break next time. Massive shuttle lines filled with children. On the upside, the more strenuous hikes were much less crowded than usual.
We tackled Observation Point at a nice pace, reaching the view point in 3h30m. Unlike last time, there was no snow or mud, and only one very easy water crossing.
Some snacks at the top, a race to the bottom, a jam packed shuttle ride back to camp to plan our next move…
If I didn't already love this man, his passionate live performance and his Southern drawl would have clinched it. #jasonisbell
Huge love to this amazing lady for taking on my most difficult mountain bike ride yet - Jenni's to Tommy's 2 Step (12 mi/2300 elevation gain). @jessperrie #ineedanap
Waiting on the sunset. #Utah #LivingRoom
Right before we danced our butts off. #gracepotter #deervalley @jessperrie
Grace Potter - what a beautiful, bad ass creature. @jessperrie
If you saw me hobbling around today, it's because yesterday I attempted to summit Twin Peaks (11,3330 elevation). I didn't quite summit, but I did manage over 10 miles RT and over 5k in elevation gain in about 6 hours. Time to train harder and try again!
#tbt to Warren Haynes + Govt Mule with @possumintheroad and @takecareofyourshoes. So fun reconnecting with an old friend on a new adventure. #kindredsouls
#LakeBlanche #Utah
Happy place. #Utah
Glorious day to explore Little Cottonwood. #Utah is the best.
This handsome fella may have slowed down, but he's still as sweet as ever. #Tahoe
A little #vegan experimenting - tricolor quinoa, baked tofu tossed in roasted tomato salsa, red onion, cilantro, and avocado. #20minutemeals
