A dear friend , Debbie Bowers , who was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma 4 days after me in 2009, passed away last month. Debbie and I pushed each other through the ups and downs of our therapies. Both of us with an initial prognosis of 3-5 years blew that out of the water as 2021 was our 12th year of battling this Cancer. Debbie, an eternal optimist, was a Red Sox/Patriot fan from Boston, and I a Yankee/Jet fan from New York often engaged in some entertaining "trash talk" but were always able to laugh about it , and did so with great mutual respect. Debbie was also a former Eastern Air Lines employee, like me , and were introduced to each other when mutual friends , Vilma Fraguada, and David Suliveres heard we both had MM. I'm going to miss that friendly warrior but she'll always be beside me in my memory as I continue the battle with Myeloma with her inspiration.
