Master List of Soulmate AUs
Edit: Updated 10/December/2016 Edit: Updated 30/August/2016 Edit: Updated 5/June/2016

—–END OF LIST—–
Okay yeah my organization skills kinda stink, but I did my best. And hey, categories! You can ask me for more of a specific category if you’d like and if I can, I’ll think up some more for that specific category. (I also know that some AUs fit in multiple categories but blergh…)
Enjoy! You can use any of these without permission, half of these aren’t mine anyway (but if you do tell me you’ll use one I’ll be giddy that you read this and it’ll make my day, I swear). Happy writing! :D
The first time Takumi noticed something was wrong with Leo was only a few days after they had met for the first time in Corrins steadily growing army. From the reactions of their friends and family nobody else noticed anything but Takumi, with the keen eyes of an archer, noticed even the smallest of changes among his allies as well as within his enemies. This had often spared their small army from running into trouble – be it from traps that were hidden on their usually safe travel routes or impostors that tried to hide in plain sight, waiting for a moment of carelessness to strike.
And yet all his talents as archer didn’t help him broach the topic with the other prince. He had tried to casually walk up to Leo with a “Are you alright?” that only got him a frown and a short nod as reply. Huh. After the long puzzling stare he got at his “Are you sure?”, Takumi gave up and tried to put it out of his mind, convincing himself that he had just imagined things. To Takumi’s surprise, it worked quite well and before he really noticed it, a week had gone by with very few thoughts spent on the incident.
It was only when Leo walked past the training grounds on a sunny Thursday afternoon that the Hoshidan prince remembered the strange…strings? That seemed to be attached to Leo’s fingers now and then. He wasn’t sure what to make of it, or how to ask Leo about it without accidentally revealing how much he actually watched the Nohrian while on the battlefield. It’s only because his stupid magic trees might get into my line of sight, he stubbornly told himself and actually believed it for a few moments. That still didn’t change the fact that he had paid more attention to Leo’s hands in a battle than to the Faceless that were slowly making their way up the muddy mountain to where they had set up their camp for the night. He had still hit every monster with an arrow right through the eye but that didn’t change the fact that he had let himself get distracted.
Resurfacing from his thoughts, Takumi barely managed to evade Hinata’s enthusiastic stab with a wooden training sword. “What are you doing, milord? Getting distracted in the middle of battle?” he asked with a hint of amusement, dashing forward to use the opportunity to finally best his liege in a training fight (even though he was convinced that in a real fight where he didn’t hold back, he would beat Takumi, though Oboro always laughed at him when he voiced those thoughts). However, not even his straying thoughts of Leo’s hands could make Takumi drop his guard that far. Using Hinata’s momentum against him, the prince took a small step to the side, his blade gliding through the air just to stop right at the back of Hinata’s head. Instead of a full hit, he gently tapped his retainer’s ponytail with the wooden weapon and cracked a smile at him.
“Don’t think being distracted makes me less of a fighter.”
“AHA! So you admit you were distracted! What’s it, milord? Did a fair maiden catch your eye?” he joked, knowing full well that the only maiden that visited the training grounds at this hour was Oboro, and Hinata knew Takumi almost saw Oboro as more of an older sister than Corrin. No way would he get distracted by her any more than by Hinoka walking past.
“Let’s stop for today and grab some food instead.”
“Are you evading the quest-ABUGRGH Oboro what? I was just worried about our liege!” Takumi turned around from the shack where they kept the training weapons just in time to see Oboro lift the blunt end of her training naginata back up from giving Hinata a light poke in the stomach.
“Don’t be so nosy, if something is bothering him he will tell us! Right milord?” she looked up, a trusting smile transforming her usually terrifying face into that of a beautiful young woman. Takumi sighed internally and hoped she would one day get over her crush on him and find someone who was actually worth her time.
“…of course I will.”
After putting their weapons away, they headed to their respective rooms and Takumi found himself walking to the dining hall on his own, his thoughts drifting back to Leo’s… situation. The Hoshidan prince was absolutely certain Leo’s fingers had seemed weirdly elongated and too thin to be healthy. Thinking back, he also realized that his usually stoic face had actually revealed some kind of stress, even though the situation on the battlefield couldn’t have been better. None of the Faceless had even gotten close to Leo, much less to Takumi who mostly kept to the back to take out the monsters from there after an encounter where he was forced to use the Fujin Yumi as a club. The only difference to other battles had been…. Leo’s horse? The prince had had to leave his horse in a safe place, as the muddy side of the hill proved too slippery for the animal’s hooves.
That must have been it then. Did the proximity to the enemy truly frighten Leo enough to have a physical reaction?
A small frown had found its way onto his face as he pushed open the doors to the dining hall, mumbled greetings echoing from his siblings and the Nohrian royals that had already found their places around the table.
Corrin’s voice pulled him away from his steady train of thoughts and unanswered questions.
“Brother? Are you feeling alright?”
Of course his distracted mind wouldn’t go unnoticed.
“Ah, yeah, I’m fine, just a bit tired.” he reassured his sister with a smile, finally sitting down next to Sakura who greeted him with a nod of her head and her usual shy smile.
Dont even
After seeing todays news I have lost all faith in Germany and am considering either getting a gun permit, learning how to summon demons or learn how to fight with a sword. I’m a small short girl who can’t do anything of consequence but if my life could stop this downward spiral of the entire world, man would I gladly sacrifice it. I might have dreams, wishes, but if I have to live in a world of bigoted, hateful and violent assholes, I won’t be able to fulfill any of those anyway so I might as well use it for something good. In the end I’m a coward though and fear retribution of any kind, so what’s it worth? Nothing, that’s what. I’ll just keep crying to myself and wish without changing anything in this world. Everyone keeps telling me what a nice girl I am, how unique, and yet I can’t change a thing. I hate this. I hate my weakness and how I’m too comfortable to change anything because it doesn’t directly concern me.
There was once a hobbit girl living in a city far far away. She was like any other Hobbit - she looked like a Hobbit, dressed like a Hobbit, spoke like a Hobbit. Yes, she was like all the other Hobbits that lived in her city. However, one thing set her apart - her love for the stars. Every night, she sat outside, blinking up at the stars that blinked down at her. None of the other Hobbits shared her love for the stars, so she always sat alone, wishing for the stars to come join her on the earth. The days passed by and the Hobbit girl waited and waited. After many weeks of fruitless hoping and wishing, she became sad. Why did the stars not hear her? Did she not wish loud enough? With tears in her eyes, she looked up into the sky, and in that moment, a shooting star flew by! The Hobbit girl was sure the shooting star was a sign. It had even blinked when it flew by. She started making a plan: if the stars were not coming to her, she would come to them! She started preparing herself. Other than most Hobbits, she was not afraid to leave her home and go on an adventure. So she took her warmest clothes and set off. To find a star, you have to think like a star! she thought. Thinking this, she took her dark blue coat - to hide in the sky. She grabbed her light grey pants - like the clouds that the stars sometimes hid behind. She put on her belt with a silver buckle - reflecting the light like a star itself would. And lastly, a pair of sturdy boots that would surely carry her up the highest mountain so she could finally meet the stars. - something with your ring (as a plot item?)
A loud bang echoed across the market place, startling a flock of pigeons off their perch on the roof of the town hall and into the air. With a surprising amount of coordination, they flew over the stalls and wooden booths arranged in neat rows on the cobbled place, fabric spanning over some of them like make-shift roofs. The soft rays of the autumn sun shone down on the people bustling about on the market, warming them up and steeling them against the gusts of wind that blew through the stalls from time to time.
Iwaizumi looked down at his sports watch, calmly regarding the second hand making its way across the clock face. He had another four hours to go before he could pack up for the day, but business was going slow. Some occasional strollers passed his stall, looking at the menu and probably deciding they might as well go home and drink a tea there instead of here on the windy market. Iwaizumi sighed and dropped his head onto the counter with a thump.
From a bit further away, he could hear the distant clangs of metal on metal and someone yelling “BEGONE, MONSTER!” with too much fervor for such a slow day. He looked up, a smirk on his face. More clinging noises reached his ear and then a victorious “Aha!”, followed by something falling to the floor with a big THUMP and cheering. An airy voice laughed and thanked the audience several times before the crowd dispersed and more people streamed into the alleys between the booths, ready to spend their money on hot drinks and the admittedly quite expensive foods. Not that Iwaizumi really cared, seeing as the employees could just take whatever they wanted when they were hungry.
His thoughts were drifting like that for a while until a tall figure appeared in front of him, casting a shadow onto him in the thin sunlight.
“Iiiiwa-chan~! Did you watch my play?” the tall man asked excitedly, his eyes shining with barely contained glee.
“Why would I? It’s the same every time.…Idiot,” he added, almost as an afterthought.
“You’re so mean, Iwa-chaaan! That’s why nobody buys your wine punch. And I’ll have you know, I change my lines every time, even if it’s only a little bit!” he put his hands on his hips and his chest puffed out with pride.
He looked ridiculous like that - in a knight costume, with the helmet pushed back so far onto his head it looked like it would fall off any second, his hair sticking up in all directions and still managing to look wavy and soft.
‘Iwa-chan’ huffed out a sigh and pushed himself off the counter as a young couple approached. “Go away, you’re ruining my business.”
“Don’t you mean I improve it?”
“Oikawa.”
“Fine fine…”
With a pout, the young man disappeared around the corner, probably to change into something less ridiculous. Or even more ridiculous. You never knew with Oikawa. The couple from before had finally gotten close enough for Iwaizumi to offer them a friendly smile and a “How may I help you?” without feeling awkward about it.
That was the only thing Iwaizumi disliked about this job – people were usually hesitant to get closer, so he had to yell at them from five meters away to come a bit forward so they could actually see what he had to offer. This minor inconvenience didn’t stop him from absolutely adoring his job, though.
He met many people on his travels, heard many stories and met with his friends at the same places and times every year, both sides returning with more stories in tow than they had before. It gave him both adventures and a routine, bringing some stability into his life without making it boring. The girl smiled back at him and after a short pause to decide, started off listing the drinks and food they wanted to order. With a nod and another friendly smile, Iwaizumi turned around and reached to the oven to take out two of the bread rolls stuffed with cream cheese and fried onions. With practiced ease, he cut the bread rolls apart, making sure nothing spilled out, before placing them on a napkin next to a cup of steaming hot tea and exchanged them for a few coins.
With a small thank you and some pleasantries, the couple turned around and left the same way they came, only to be replaced by the same face that had been haunting Iwaizumi for the past five years, coupled with a stupidly bright grin and a peace sign.
“I’m back Iwa-chan~ Did you miss me?”
“Like hell I would,” he grumbled, but admitted that it was easier to pass the time when Oikawa’s babbling about something irrelevant filled the air. He leaned against the wobbly wooden door in the wall behind him and closed his eyes, letting the other man’s chatter wash over him. “Iwa-chan… are you even listening?”
Heck yes

Akoya struggled against the chains, trying in vain to break them or slip out, anything. Anything to escape this hellhole where time didn’t seem to pass, making it even harder to not lose his mind. If only Ryuu and Io were here, he thought uselessly. He could survive this with them. But Ryuu died. Ryuu was dead and it was his fault. He protected him and he couldn’t even get away from the enemy on his own. And Io…had he fled? Did he betray them? That thought hurt, but a small part of Akoya hoped he had gotten away safely. No, Io was a smart man. He must’ve found a way out, he wouldn’t get tricked by the enemy. His only flaw was his inability to distrust someone, but if he got away, he would learn. Akoya threw himself into that daydream. Io leaving the castle, Io hiding, Io starting a new life under a new name. Finding a loving wife who gave him more than Akoya could ever offer to him. He would be fine. Or maybe he was even working on a plan to get him out of this prison, spying on the enemy and then they would be reunited, and they could live together again, even with the hole left behind by Ryuu, they could do it. Find solace in each other. That was the only thought keeping Akoya from losing his mind. He endured the scrawny guard crawling into his cell and touching his face and his hair, telling him how beautiful he was, he endured the moldy bread and the muddy water. He endured a bunch of drunk jailors cutting off his hair and leaving it uneven and dirty. His body was not his anymore, but it would be again soon. Soon. One day, his cell door opened to reveal an unfamiliar guard with a torch, the first real light he had seen since they had thrown him into this cell to rot. The guard signaled him to get up and Akoya complied. His legs were weak and shaking but he managed three steps to the cell door where two other guards grabbed his arms. He hadn’t seen them in the unexpected brightness of the fire, but he was glad he didn’t have to walk anymore. They dragged him up the stairs. Would he finally be free?
