So my chess speed clock came today. I have a slight obsession with chess. It was one of the only games that my father & I played during my childhood. During college I stopped playing because, as it turns out, it is hard to find people who enjoy it. I was lucky enough to pick it up and find a player who was much better then myself during one of my stints in Israel. He was a Russian immigrant named Boris, and while he wouldn’t call himself a “worthy chess player”, I absolutely would call him one. He and his brother (who was a bonafide chess badass still living in Russia) were both crazy math geniuses. We played at lunch hour every day for a year. For the first 6 months he would play without his queen and rook, and I could still never beat him. After 6 months I started winning and he started to play with his queen while still leaving his rook out. On our last game together (after losing for another 6 months) I beat him with his queen in play. One of the best days of my life. Chess is one of, if not the most fascinating games in the world to me. You can almost feel the struggle of the opponents mind during a game, it is a duel of minds. Bobby Fischer and the other chess geniuses that have gone crazy over this game have always intrigued me. Unlike most games, it is void of luck and based almost entirely around strategy and skill. I would go as far as to say there is no such thing as luck in this game, there is only capitalizing on the opponents mistakes.
Summer Updates
I just got back from a camping trip with the bros today :D, fun but mosquitoes were hell.
Anyway, I'll be heading over to china in 2 days, meaning that I might not be able to post. If I'm still able to post, well, then I guess this is gonna be the primary source of cmmunication for my friends to see whats goin' on. If I'm unable to, then just know that I'll be back in mid-to-late August, so please don't think I'm dead, because I'm not!
Keep calm and carry on.

Something I found while browsing youtube. I don't know guys, you think this is true?
"You want a social life, with friends.
A passionate love life and as well
To work hard every day.
What's true Is of these three you may have two
And two can pay you dividends
But never may have three.
There isn't time enough, my friends--
Though dawn begins, yet midnight ends--
To find the time to have love, work, and friends.
Michelangelo had feeling
For Vittoria and the Ceiling
But did he go to parties at day's end?
Homer nightly went to banquets
Wrote all day but had no lockets
Bright with pictures of his Girl.
I know one who loves and parties
And has done so since his thirties
But writes hardly anything at all." - Kenneth Koch
Quite possibly the worst cover of a song ever made LOL, love it though
Arpit how did you make this? :O
SAT Chemistry Part 8
https://docs.google.com/present/edit?id=0AdEStz74spZXZGRoNjhnODRfMTA5Y3R3Y240Z24&hl=en_US
I wonder why the links always end with =en_US, weird.
Anyway, 2 Days 20 Hours 55 Minutes and 24 Seconds 'til the SAT Chem test! (Hopefully these study guides will still be useful for people for future tests, thought I have no idea if people will be able to find them or not, so spread the word about these!)
This section is about kinetics and equilibrium, two similar but very different topics. One thing I've noticed about the SAT Chem test is that it's alot less math based and more concept based, which is good for some people and bad for others I guess. If this were my chem class at school, we'd probably be going over tons of math equations involving Keq. In a sense, I'm glad I don't have to cover those as they're pretty tedious. :P
Anyway, enjoy! If you like these, spread the word and as always, if you want to give me feedback or you think something I put might be wrong, just send me a message at [email protected] and I'll see to the problem!
