 #[tap dances in BEST UNDERRATED SCENE FOR AN OTP EVER]#because how often do you get to see this kind of quiet curious appreciation#without overtones of OH LOOK THIS IS A //MOMENT//#like we’re not supposed to see it as such maybe but idc because i do#this is Stiles doing what he does best #looking into a case#emmulating his dad and trying his hardest to fit together the pieces#the riddle that is Derek Hale and how exactly to break down the enigma#he doesn’t know Derek that well#he doesn’t know all the little bits and quirks that make him up#but he’s curious about them; both for Scott’s sake and for his own#because Stiles likes nothing more than getting his teeth into an unsolved mystery#and Derek’s got some super good stuff he can dig those canines into#this is him trying to figure Derek out and Derek literally being like NOPE#you can’t even look at me properly #i am literally a blur#i don’t //want// you to know me#and yet piece by piece Stiles is putting him together#worming under his skin and figuring him out#finishing his sentences or knowing what he needs#helping him without Derek even realising#like Stiles is on Derek’s side purely by proxy at first#but more and more on Derek’s side because he wants to be#and sooner or later he stops seeing Derek as a blur from a lens flare#and starts seeing what’s underneath in all it’s glory#and it’s joyous to see the beginning#to see Stiles appreciating everything that Derek is a ~cool yet frightening werewolf#because Derek needs someone that sees all of him and isn’t AFRAID of it#they embrace it instead (via stilinskisparkles)
