Spoilers about, here.
I’m just about screaming, seeing the incorporation of our beloved C3 goth girl into TLoVM. I’m extra thrilled, because this gives a lot of hope to those of us who want to see BH animated.
I think it was done very cleverly, honestly. As it is now, they’d have to change very little—having Vex be the primary one who interacts with her, it gives the audience the connection, but still allows for the canon of BH and What Doesn’t Break. Perhaps she’s not quite as mad, yet, and the book is the aftermath.
But it is especially done well because in Bells Hells, when she is brought to Whitestone to be brought back, no one really knows who she is. This still works—they’d have to change very little in the scene where Vex sees her dead body. As it is in the campaign, Vex simply goes “oh,” from the top of the stairs. Then learns who Laudna was.
Then when Percy has his doubts, given Delilah’s potential for resurrection, it’s Vex who essentially says “we owe it to her to try.” Even with the change of Laudna showing up in TLoVM, they can still more or less play out the scene this way, but with objectively even MORE weight to it. Because now Vex owes Laudna—for more than one thing.
Anyway, I digress. Don’t mind my rambles. Well done, CR. And thank you.
